They are focusing on doing what their constituants are telling them, unklike the DEM's that just left office. They could have cared less what the people thought and what was ggood for America, they just wanted to push their socialist agenda. But Barry you can't see that because you centoer too much on what the DEM's and liberal media want you to see and think. Take the blinders off and look real hrd at what being fiscally conservative means and then you will see who is being a fiscal conservative when it comes to spending and taxation. Fiscally conservative elected officals will get this nation back on track, not high spending, high taxation and deficit spending liberals. Sorry to burst your little bubble, but the DEM's and the REP who were spending before them caused all of this. This house is trying to get us back on track. You focus is out of position and your laser is malfunctioning.  (Jan 20, 2011 | post #14259)

You mena like the downward trend of unemployement the last few years, sure it might not have affected you, but those it did affect don't feel about it like you do. Yes the DEM's helped it trend that way with their tax and spend phylosophy. Sorry but the bail out should have never happened, bailing them out for making bad decisions, but then the Government regulated them to make bad loans, that is from the edicts of Presidinton and Barney Frank the banks made bad loans because they were made to by their regulations. Of course Bush didn't turn the tide and kept the practice going. So Obama helped out those who the governemnt nearly regulated into bankruptcy.  (Jan 19, 2011 | post #14245)

Trending begins as one starts keeping the data as the thing being trended begins to move in one direction or the other there is obviously a cause. The numbers have just begin to trend up therefore there was a cause for the upward rise. Just as in 2007 the trend took a downward spiral and while the DEM's had congress and then the Presidency the spiral continued. No that it is trending upward you don't want to look for the cause. You seem to like a doom and gloom view things. By your thinking if the DEM's are responsible for the upward trend why has it taken 4 years to begin to go upward? They were holding the economy back with their gloom and doom taxation policies. Sure is refereshing to see it start to come up, it may not stay if the REP decide to do what they started in 04 - 05 to get voted out of the house and senate. Time will tell.  (Jan 19, 2011 | post #14243)

So what event took place that caused the spike in private sector jobs? Think it might be the fact that most of the proposed taxes by the congress are gone, and the Bush tax cuts were extended. Maybe it is that cap and tax is not an issue anymore. When the wealthy see that their taxes aren't going to rise and therefore the cost of doing business won't increase like it was they now ant to spend some of the money they've been holding. The elections of November with the house are already helping the economy. Mr. Obama compromised and cut deals to get most of it going. He at least realized he needed to work toward a compromise. Next repeal this expensive health care bill and develop a bill that is godd for Americans.  (Jan 19, 2011 | post #14241)

Here is a quote from the first website from Mr. Cain, "On that show Wednesday, he said he is considering a run for office to "make this a better world" for his three grandchildren. He said the White House needs a president "that will listen to the people first" and who is "a problem solver... that's what I've done my entire business career." He said the "American dream is under attack" by excessive legislation, regulation and taxation." Herman Cain in 2012  (Jan 14, 2011 | post #14199)

Palin has never been the victim and she may have some support but see my previous post on Herman Cain and you'll see he is aahead of her in Presidential straw polls. Even tea partiers support Mr. Cain, by the way for those who have said the Tea Party people are racist, Mr. Cain is African American, so I suppose most Tea party folks might not be as racist as they have been made out to be. Never been to a Tea Party and not really interested in going to one. But some of you liebrils might ought to go just to see exactly what happens at one. I just know they want lower taxes.  (Jan 14, 2011 | post #14197)

Mot the health care the majority of Americans would like to have had. Not anything bi-partisian on it.e ha his word that he would be the righttype of change just more of the same old DEM vs REP issues for him. Then every once in a while he likes to fuel the racial tensions in the nation. Expecially accusing the tea partiers of racism and then letting the new black panthers go withut prosecution for voter intimiftion. No change just more tax and spend DEM practices and dictating to Americans what products to purchase. I the USGM is pushing his latest version of car to buy the Volt hopefully they won't sell very many of those pieces of Obama supported junk.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #14183)

Really like he worked with the REP on the health care bill everything they suggested he insured wasn't in the bill. Now he did start to compromise once the DEM's had lost the House. If it doesn't benefit him or his party in someway he usually seems to not be around. Why wouldn't he you ask, because if she had been a REP he would have no reason to blame all this on the tea party or the REP's no reason for a photo op. Turns out the guy that did the shooting had serval people telling those who could have helped him mentally that he needed help and none attempted to help him. Friends had been noticing the mental change and coworkeres suggested he needed help but none stepped in to get him the help he needed. People lost their lives and others were wounded.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #14180)

He showed me that he like other Presidents is compassionate when things like this happen. Now had that been a REP congresswoman would he have even shown up that is the big question. As for as why he was elected more with McCain charismatic enough. Charisma doesn't make a good President however and we are seeing that too.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #14178)

I have given the DEM's credit for a lot of things, the failed economy, the failed bailouts, the failure to control spending and the big one failure to listen to the people who said we don't want this Health care bill. As for the REP they have made a contract with the American people in the past and failed to honor that contract. The REP's have promised to lower taxes but have compromised on spending bills. They have promised many things and neither party has delivered, it is time to get independent fiscal conservatives in office who will listen to what we the people have to say. Work toward getting our nation back to fiscal responsiblity. Deficit spending is not the way, some debt is ok but we are getting too deep too fast. The President and DEM's seem to think just printing more money will solve everything, the problem everytime we print money we owe the foreign world bankers more money. Print money get deeper in debt that is the DEM's way and that will crumble our financial system eventually.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #14176)

Sarah Palin was dead in the water when she resigned the Governorship in Alaska, as for the Republicans they always had a health care plan, problem the DEM's wouldn't listen and the libral press taughted the liberal plan. Wait and see what they have in mind before saying they have no plan, that's what the liberal media wants the robots to think. Conservatives aren't robots and if the REP and DEM's can't come up with a good plan for America Health insurance reform then let's get INDEPENT FIXCAL CONSERVATIVES IN OFFICE that will. Democrats are owned by big Insurance and corporation that own the hospitals, we see that from this bill every advantage to thse corporation that own the hospitals and penalties for DR. owned what's that show, DEM's were owned by these corporations. Advantage insurance forcing every American to purchase their product and they go up on premiums again sounds like the DEM's were owned by the big insurance firms. I am surprised the DEM's didn't give one company a monopoly.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #14174)

The way the DEM's are acting this was a great catastrophe. A congress woman was attacked, and innocent people died. Great caatastrophe's of our Nation, The attack by Japan at Pearl Harbor, The oklahoma City Bombing and of course what many DEM's try to not bring up the terrorsit attacks of 9/11/2001. While this was a tragedy just as the Fort Hood attack by a Muslim, the school shootings we have had. This is not as big of a catastrophe as it is being made out to be. One lone deranged gunman attacks the congresswoman he feels responsible for the problems he sees. She lives and innocent people died. I remeber the day President Kennedy was assassinated, the hunt for the killer and schools were out for several days especiaaly for the funral. This doesn't even measure up to that. Yes it is tragic and this congress woman may not get parts of her memory back, but to talk like the Speaker of the House needs to go for this political show that the President was putting on to make himself look good is a little like the REP trying to make Political foder when the President didn't have a certain tone when the Fort Hood attack occured. He wasn't sensitive enough many said, now the DEM's attack the Speaker. Our nation has far too many problems for this type of political banter from both parties. They need to be working toward straightening our nations problems out instead of this trivial you didn't do this or they didn't react this way.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #14173)

Longtime GOP Texas Gov. Perry wins another term

The great recession you refer to began under the DEM congress that was elected in 2006. Since congress sets spending and issues that drive the economy congress has a great deal of the responsibility ofr the great recession a legislative branch which included the current President. Mr. Bush signed the spending bills so he too carries blame. He pushed most of it through to get funding for both wars. The great recession lies at the feet of Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid with their reckless spending and tax measures. Mr. Obama hasn't helped with all of he spending he recommended and signed. This recession has lasted for many of the same reasons the great deprssion lasted so long, it stayed a recession because of the fed. Three reasons history says the great depression lasted as long as it did. The tarriff act of 1930 increasing tarriffs on certain goods, bad decisions bthe FED and the rich weren't spending. Our recessions lasted this long due to the increasing or the threat of increased taxes and the rich holding their funds to see how much of their money would go toward new taxes.  (Jan 12, 2011 | post #1511)
