Severe weather continues to roll through West Michigan
I believe you are. Reba is from down South of McAlester. The area we call Little Dixie. Her family were, and might still be, rodeo folk. I believe her grandfather was a really good roper. (Sunday Jun 8 | post #55)
Severe weather continues to roll through West Michigan
Yes, it was 03 May. That was the one we call the F6. I am from Edmond, but we had property In Del City where I did a lot of clean up. We sold it a month later. The deal had already been in the works. (Sunday Jun 8 | post #54)
Holland-area district wants commencement speech changed
His impact by not speaking will go as far, if not further. It is kind of like "Ironman ". where the US military tells him what to say and he announces "I am Ironman" - sorry if I ruined the end of the movie for anyone. (Sunday Jun 8 | post #7)

Well we can't blame that on the seagulls, can we? (Sunday Jun 8 | post #2)

Severe Weather Coming to West Michigan
Hurley - You're such an optimist. Those MH dwellers get a tax break for not having a permanent structure and you manage to go one step further by developing a pontoon scheme. However, 5HP would be a bit low. A fairly good estimate for evaluating horsepower requirements for this vessel would be to calculate 1 horsepower per 500 Lbs of displacement. I would guess the described boat would weigh about 20,000 Lbs, so that would take 40HP. Wind loading would be great though figuring, with skirting, 12’ high X 60’ long a 20knot wind would provide 864Lbs of force. This load would be worth considering before setting out for Green Bay to do some shopping. I hope any MH dwellers dry out with minimal expense. (Sunday Jun 8 | post #53)
WZZM13 WATER COOLER - Dutch man suffers cut buttocks in joke mi...
LOL - I’ll try to clue you in. it goes back to “being laughed at” and not “laughing with”. I can forward on some unsolicited e-mails I often receive to better explain, if you would like. (Sunday Jun 8 | post #129)
Car falls down embankment near Lake Michigan
Amen to that. I delivered a daily paper for 3 1/2 years and know the hard, and often unappreciated, work paper deliverers go through. That 51 y.o. woman and her 16 y.o. nephew sound like hard workers, out before the dawn of today. That road collapse is just incredible. 40 to 50 feet is a long way to fall. (Sunday Jun 8 | post #16)
Holland-area district wants commencement speech changed
Congratulations Jed! You are a great testimony. It is hard to believe that anyone from a country that fights for freedom of speech as we do would defend those having authority at your commencement ceremony. I hope you have time to share a few verses with us and explain how you were encouraged by them. Your brother in Christ, Dan (Sunday Jun 8 | post #20)

Well, it should give a good scare to the drug traffickers, anyway. (Saturday Jun 7 | post #12)

Nope. But have you ever had a song in your head and then it started playing on the radio? I remember one time I was driving through McAlester, OK the day of an execution to occur at midnight. Steve Miller’s “Swingtown” was on my mind. I looked down the street towards the prison and it started playing on the radio. (Saturday Jun 7 | post #883)

Yes she is. She and her husband were both stationed at Tinker AFB. She got out a little ahead and did the weather there while he was still in. They are both pilots, I believe he is a commercial airline pilot. (Saturday Jun 7 | post #47)
