Sorry to inform you of this.. but you've just been had. The private landowners are not going to sell, ever. They don't have to. They don't want to, for any amount of money. Contrary to your position, they love the land too much. Been in the families for generations. There will never be any mining on Mt. Taylor. The Sierra Club et al just played the pueblos and tribes like a cheap fiddle for their bigger agenda. Gus and CampCook, What have you've done to improve Tucson ? Would you edjumacate us morons please ? We live here because we don't have to put up with people like you that whine about nothing to do when it sits in your back yard, and that the town has nothing to offer. Granted, there are some dilapidated buildings downtown that need help. And we were on the verge of economic recovery until the local pueblos and tribes stuck a knife in our back with their Traditional Cultural Property designation. Our great neighbors and the Sierra Club etc. are trying to crush the economic life out of the community. But it won't work for long. We'll fight our own troubles here. Please stay where you are, and don't complain about where you aren't. And in the meantime, mind your own business.  (Jul 9, 2009 | post #4)
