Albendazole (Valbazen) Curing Me

I have followed this thread off and on since it began. I have a few questions. First, how can you say that it doesn't have any side effects? I have taken it and, yes, indeed it has helped when nothing else did, but it makes me feel nasty. I can smell it. It gives me a sore throat. Part of me is afraid that it's going to kill me before it kills all of the mites. I have noticed that my rash is going down and I'm not feeling as creepy/crawly, but it certainly is NOT without any side effects, including possible liver damage. I have also read people who have said that they will be on it for at least six months. I thought that mite eggs were not viable for that long? Why do you have to take it for that long? One place where the Valbazen does not seem to help is my feet. I have flat feet and have large calluses and they seem to love those. How can I help my feet? One last thing, mites in the environment. They are in my car and now in my mattress. I made the mistake of wrapping my mattress with plastic film that had been in my car. How do I get them out of my car? Bug bombing doesn't work. Plus, if they have infested my mattress, do they do like bed bugs and follow you throughout the house? Do they just stay in the furniture and not venture past that? How long can they live in something like a mattress? Will having someone come in and heat treat the house help? How do you know once they are gone and your environment is clean. As soon as I get in my car I can instantly feel them. They crawl into my eyes, nose, ears, and mouth.  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #188)

Gosh VSS, you sound like a broken record. Can you add anything more productive to this conversation?  (Nov 14, 2013 | post #112)

Here is a link to a scientific study that proves that Albendazole cures scabies, in case anybody is interested: http://anagen.ucda vis.edu/1510/lette rs/albendazole/dou ri.html  (Nov 13, 2013 | post #111)

I haven't spent a lot of time on this forum. I'm only on here because I'm trying to get my life back. Why are some people so mean spirited? Why do we have to call each other names like trolls and such? Seems very childish to me.  (Nov 12, 2013 | post #102)

Sharon, By the way, thank you for the helpful information on my post. I appreciate it. I have to correct you on one account. You keep on saying that Albendazole is not a cure for ectoparasites but ivermectin is. Ivermectin is marketed and destributed in the United States mainly for use as a treatment for endoparasites. It was not developed to treat ectoparasites. That is why sometimes it is not effective in treating either scabies or lice. Mark  (Nov 12, 2013 | post #101)

Albendazole (Valbazen) Curing Me

Sharon, Thanks for the information. I have just purchased Sevin Concentrated bug killer and Martin's I.G. Regulator. Will those work? Also, I just discovered yesterday that they are in my computer keyboard. How do I get them out? Do I have to throw away the keyboard and get a new one? They also may be in my laptop too. I use an external keyboard because the keyboard for my laptop was not big enough. Mark  (Nov 12, 2013 | post #84)

I'm glad that you found a cure. I will buy some as soon as I get paid. What do you recommend for clearing the buggars out of your environment to avoid reinfestation? They have taken over my car. I can't even touch anything in it without getting one of them on me. What do I do about that?  (Nov 6, 2013 | post #65)

Nordic, Thanks for the post. Could you be a little more specific about the quantities used in your ointment? Thanks. mtrombly  (Oct 8, 2013 | post #6)

Scabies

Please Help

I have been dealing with parasites since Father's Day this year. In one tragic instant I was infested with both crabs and scabies, but didn't find out about the scabies until two weeks ago. I have spent so much time and money on this I really don't know what else to do. Because we were treating for lice, we would apply perm only to my genetals and leave on for 10 minutes and wash off. I did so many applications of permethrin that when I finally figured out that I had scabies too and left the perm on for the full 24 hours, it had very little effect. All it did was spread the bugs to parts of my body that weren't treated, namely my head and hair, which I then had to cut off. I have also been treated with ivermectin, but I have been dealing with doctors who are unskilled in this type of thing and are afraid of getting sued so they never prescribed a dose that was adequate for my weight (320 lbs). I finally found a doctor who knew what she was doing and she asked me to try perm once more. This is the time that it sent them throughout my whole body, including my head. She then prescribed lindane, but quickly followed that up with ivermectin, at a dosage that was adequate for my weight, because I informed her that the bugs were migrating from my scalp to my nose and ears. The unfortunate thing with the ivermectin was because of my previous exposures to it at doses that were lower than adequate, the bugs had grown accustomed to it. Today I went back to the doctors office where a medical assistant assisted me in applying the lindane to my body. Unfortunately, because of my weight and back troubles, there are certain parts of my body that I have difficulty reaching. She applied the lindane to all of my body except my anus. I was too embarrassed to ask her to apply it there. When I made it home an hour and a half later, I applied it to my anus, however, ended up having to go to defecate, so I reapplied it. The sad thing is, however, that I was unable to keep the lindane on for the recommended 8-12 hours. I made it to about 7.5 hours for the rest of my body, but only about 5-6 hours for my anus. Before I finally got around to applying the lindane down there, I could feel the bugs migrating there because that was the only part of my body that was not treated. I had to wash off the lindane prematurely because if made me feel nasty. I felt dizzy, light headed, I even had to sit down several times because I was afraid that I was going to pass out. I just couldn't stand it any more. After washing off the lindane and sitting down to recover, I could still feel creepy crawly sensations in my anus, the part of my body that got treated with the least amount of time. I'm concerned that the treatment has failed due to my inability to ask for what I need and I don't know what else to do. I can feel them, as I sit here, eating away at my ass, no pun intended. The problem is that I have to move out of my house in less than two weeks. I will have to lave my work and be without insurance and income until I get another job. I am already at the end of my tether, I can't take any more of this. Is there any thing that I can do without insurance? Do any of these home remedies, like borax and food grade hydrogen peroxide, work? What else can I do? Is there anybody in the Baltimore area who might let me stay with them until I can get this worked out? If I stay here then I can keep my job. I'm desperate and don't know what to do next. Please help.  (Oct 1, 2013 | post #1)
