As long as the hikackers look like Iragi's, I think it still counts right?  (Apr 18, 2008 | post #2)

Rep. Frank wants to legalize pot

Time to get the Saving Silverman DVD back out of it's case. Nice work Barn! I love it! Think of how intelligent the conversations here will be when everyone is hitting the stupid.  (Apr 18, 2008 | post #3)

Tsongas raises $288G in first quarter

Maybe Mrs.Clinton should've spent less time "pushing " her husband and more time doing "other" things the a wife should do. Their marriage is more of an attack the sacred union than any gay marriage would ever be. Maybe Monica or Ms Flowers should have run.  (Apr 18, 2008 | post #4)

To each his own, hammer. I love Espresso's sweet sauce, and I will go to blows for the piece with the biggest crust bubble.  (Apr 18, 2008 | post #15)

Kerry to speak at UMass Lowell graduation

Seriously...What's the point in arguing about it anymore. It's like basketball. Some guys play for the Lakers, some guys play for the Celtics, but at the end of the day, they're all high paid athletes.  (Apr 18, 2008 | post #21)

TURN IT OFF: Well I have one question for you old timer…if we’re busy using the computers, the phones, and all kinds of technology, what are you doing? What are you doing that you can’t pitch in and turn off a light? Between the environment, and social security, we already have enough on our plate. The free ride is over buddy, turn off your own light!  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #5)

Dramatic rush-hour chase in Lowell

That may be the "glass is half empty" way of looking at it. I think all those things are what add up to an "All American City." No?  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #4)

Well, I would continue to feed the beast and tell you that I pass it on my way to buy porn at Tower News… because you guys are a bunch of literal idiots, but the truth is that I occasionally pass the shelter on my way to pick up a pizza at Espresso…which now that I think of it, might be a good reason to not be homeless in Florida. No Espresso.  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #152)

About two month's ago a guy started a blog regarding his experience with Verizon customer service, which received an amazing amount of web traffic. It was a fantastic read as the author was a good writer and the antics Verizon was pulling helped fuel the fire. Anyway, I couldn't find the original link because so many people have started Verizon customer service blogs since...which has prompted Verizon to answer this rash of disappointment by establishing their own Customer Service Blog.  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #8)

In Response to "LOOSEN UP": The only thing this poor guy from Westford is asking for is a deck and a swing. Is that too much to ask for? Does anyone really care if a few Canadian Geese lose their home so that this guy can crush a couple Bacardi Breezers on his back yard deck this summer? I know I don’t. Although, if you were to move to Lowell, the City planning board would let you build a deck, a swing, and four houses in your backyard…just something to think about.  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #2)

Tyngsboro starts slashing school budget

I would start with Athletics. Tynsboro has been the doormat of the MVC and whatever other leagues there in for far too long;)!  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #6)

What? I'm not sure how you got from my above post that I am "blaming the victim"? I assume by "Victim" you're referring to the homeless? Listen, every other post here is about how the shelter is a black eye on the downtown area, or the shelter is fantastic program that helps save many lives....and we know both are true. I just figured that I would share MY thoughts on the shelter and the area homeless rather than tell other people where the shelter needs to be or why they are wrong. I know when I walk through Haymarket Sq. every winter morning, and I see the “Have a Nice Day” guy, my first thought isn’t “Gotta get rid of the homeless” or “I’m so happy there’s a local shelter to take him in.” What I usually think of is “Why is he not the ‘Have a Nice Day Guy’ in Florida?” I have the same thoughts when I occasionally cruise by the shelter.  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #148)

I agree that's certainly a reason why many can't get themselves off the street, and in many cases how they got into the situation in the first place. But if you’re mentally capable of finding free meals, a free place to sleep, and scoring drugs and alcohol (I know, not everyone), wouldn’t you be able to figure how to find your way to a better climate? A place that’s far more suitable for living without a roof?  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #141)
