Sidewalk to Nowhere

Sorry that questions about this upset you. I won't just be led blindly nor put off by detractors. You are helping this discussion by posting and I give you credit for that.  (Nov 17, 2014 | post #43)

That subject is for a whole other topix lol. If a sidewalk is needed for safety why not place it in the residential neighborhood west of Washington and thru Simpson park crossing at Park Lane. If safety is the motivation the distance walked wouldn't change.  (Nov 17, 2014 | post #37)

OK let's take this to the extreme just for fun. Now pretend that our city leaders have come to the conclusion that a disservice has been perpetrated on the public by not having sidewalks on every street in every neighborhood. Then they mandated construction of new sidewalks at the property owner's expense to be paid via a extension on your property tax. As the owner you will be responsible for all maintenance. To my knowledge no sidewalks installed on County Club / Fairway Dr/ North Fair/. Lakeview estate. Maybe we need a sidewalk from Danner Park north to the golf course then west to connect to the hospital area too? After having a home with a sidewalk that the city mandated I replace at my cost a few years ago one of the criteria for my current home was that it not have a sidewalk to maintain.  (Nov 16, 2014 | post #28)

Maybe another buffet would be to your liking. I just ask the questions to generate discussion. Now another question who will be responsible for snow removal and maintenance? The city doesn't clean the sidewalks in my neighborhood. And if walking is such a high priority why are the sidewalks absent in all the newer housing developments?  (Nov 15, 2014 | post #15)

OK so the estimate to complete the sidewalk from the hospital to Simpson park seems to be in the area of $ 240,000. My question is who will walk on this pedestrian superhighway if completed? And wouldn't that type of money be better spent on our streets instead? Before you start with its going to be a grant that funds this please explain how this grant isn't our taxes being wasted since all government money is derived from tax revenue. Just because you spread it out over the entire state doesn't make it any less wasteful.  (Nov 14, 2014 | post #1)

Critical of football team performance? It would be best to just drink the kool- aid and stop complaining about the coaching staff. But the Chillicothe Band is pretty good entertainment. Just saying. Lol  (Oct 5, 2014 | post #1)

Regarding the quality of customer service at local supermarkets. The bar has been set by wally- world that means that the hyvee don't have to try very hard to be a improvement. It is not the same as it was 15 years ago but look around nothing is the same as it was.  (Sep 24, 2014 | post #38)

I really enjoy reading what the religious sheeple have chimed in with. If you look hard enough you can find a interpretation that suits your need at the time in that book.  (Sep 22, 2014 | post #402)
