So you approve of rules being changed and made up as you go? So much for rule of law. (2 hrs ago | post #7)
Benghazi Attack Under Microscope
I will have to disagree with you on this one; Washington DC is the center of power, in my honest opinion. Why do some many on K Street donate to both sides? Some may feel differently however I say its pay protection money to both sides. It’s like the store owner who pays protection money to both gangs for protection, he never know who will have the power so why take the chance. Bottom line this is what the majority has wanted for many years, from voting to strip the states of representation in Washington, to voting for Income Tax, to voting for greater and greater expansion of government and less freedom and liberty which will lead to less democracy…..Oh and the voter who vote to get rid of democracy will cheer when it happens. (5 hrs ago | post #12)
Five years ago I would have debated the reasons this would not happen however, today I see this as a strong possibility. If ignored history will repeat itself, history has proven this out many times. History gives us the example on 13 British colonies that believed strong that the centralized seat of Government was taking far too much with little return. I do believe it is conceivable that America could fragment into two or three separate states. Then again if we look at History we have been here before, just look at the news from the 1970’s and then just imagine if we had internet news. We had Johnson, Nixon and Carter (Ford does not really count). Deficit spending, high unemployment, cost controls, immigration issues, etc…. Two elections turned things around and whether you like the Man or not he was a leader. “Here is what I believe and support and you can follow or go in different direction, but he did not change to become popular.” So yes, I am optimistic that once the Give me generation of baby boomers has less influence at the polls and the younger generation see’s the lack of future that the current path offers maybe America can return to its greatness. Or…..We could have America (much smaller land mass), California and another country of some name. (5 hrs ago | post #10)
Sounds good I will have to try that one day this summer. Two things dolander, first of all the Supreme Court did not stop the counting of votes in Florida. The Supreme Court told the Florida Supreme court that it was not legal to allow the rules for vote counting to be changed on the fly. It would be like the JSO stopping you for going 45mph, in what was 45 zone when you went through it and writing you a ticket while the DOT was behind you changing the sign to a 35mph zone. The majority of those living on the road would support this move and your ticket and based on your responses on issues in the past you would support getting the ticket. AS for the Supreme Court allowing Obamacare, I was a 5-4 decision and so justices, Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor also allowed the law to move forward. The court, however, found problems with the law's expansion of Medicaid, but even there said the expansion could proceed as long as the federal government does not threaten to withhold states' entire Medicaid allotment if they don't take part in the law's extension. The court's four liberal justices, Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, joined Roberts in the outcome. Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas dissented. It would seem the majority won this round. Keep in mind dolander, the Supreme Court is only supposed to interrupt the law, not make it so thank you House and Senate for the law. (7 hrs ago | post #5)
Dolander, nice to see you fully understand history and how the Supreme Court works. I will say this much for Obama, he picked the correct agency to enforce ObamaCare. The IRS knows how to “”convince”” people to pay and even over pay their taxes during the course of the year. So dolander have you read the ObamaCare Law as of yet, can you with certainty debate all aspects of the law. I sincerely hope not my friend, as that would mean you have no life. (Yesterday | post #2)
JEA Smart Meters Are Illegal And Installed On Your House
Did you notify JEA the last time you changed a light bulb? The meter is JEA property and in the agreement you have with JEA or FPL or GPL then have the right to come onto your property to read and service meters, both electrical and water. Granted with the new meter they are no longer required to come onto your property on a monthly basic to log your usage. You have not been targeted every JEA meter is being changed out as it will eliminate the need for meter readers who would have had to come onto your property to acquire the monthly usage. The meters only see usage and will it can see spikes it however cannot tell whether the spike was because of a pump, water heater, hair dryer or oven. You can also request JEA send you your daily usage report which might help you lower your usage. (Wednesday May 15 | post #33)

Dolander that was weak, real weak. Let me help you understand dolander Fact, Ariel Castro is a male, do you dispute? Fact, Ariel Castro is a kidnapper, do you dispute? Fact, Ariel Castro has a daughter from one of the girls he kidnapped, do you dispute? Question, why did he kidnap young girls? Question, why did these girls not escape earlier? Do I need to continue dolander? (Wednesday May 15 | post #9)
Ignorance is a cancer for sure, you want more proof. Study: Despite drop in gun crime, 56% think it's worse Violent gun crime has dropped dramatically in the past two decades, but the majority of Americans think it's more of a problem now than ever, according to a Pew Research Center study released Tuesday. According to the survey, done in March, 56% of Americans believe gun crime is worse today than it was 20 years ago. And 84% believe in recent years, gun crime has either gone up or stayed the same — when the reality is that it has dropped significantly. The rate of non-fatal violent gun crime victimization dropped 75% in the past 20 years; The gun homicide rate dropped 49% in the same period, according to numbers Pew researchers obtained from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "The public doesn't get its feelings out of crime statistics," said Alfred Blumstein, an urban systems professor at Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University. "The public gets its feelings from particularly notorious events, and what the press talks about." It is funny or maybe just sad that democracy survives based solely on the intelligence of the voters. It is said that that democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner? Good examples true however the question is what are the wolves and the sheep? If the wolves believe in the rule of law then sheep is not on the menu. If the wolves don’t believe in the concept of individual pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness then Sheep is on the menu. Then again if the Sheep is like many of the Ignorant Voters today who believe government will protect them, then Sheep is on the menu. Still many questions to be answered in this case, however we do know for a FACT that Ariel Castro bet Michelle Knight so badly over the years that she is deaf in one ear and will probably require reconstruction surgery of her face. We also know all were abused and assaulted during their captivity but according to dolander they must have like it so they stayed in the house. There is NO Way Ariel Castro did anything to keep them there. (Tuesday May 14 | post #6)
Benghazi Attack Under Microscope
Speaking of the Boston Marathon bomber and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, when are you planning your pilgrimage to Al-Barzakh Cemetery in Virginia to honor someone who has made the dolander hero list? I am guessing you already completed your pilgrimage to honor Timothy McVeigh and David Koresh. (Tuesday May 14 | post #4)
Benghazi Attack Under Microscope
I am guessing bed lice have little concept of history much like you dolander. Granted I know you would have asked different questions if you would have been on the 911 Commission. I believe we all know that the FBI and CIA each probable had half the puzzle and had it for at least 18 to 24 months prior to 911. Too Bad these puzzle pieces could not be reviewed on the same table. Just like the Boston bombing the more we learn that our government knew further proves our government has little to no interest in enforcing the law, IF enforcing the law means admitting one is wrong. Fact: The commission was established on November 27, 2002 (442 days after the attack) and their final report was issued on July 22, 2004. The report was originally scheduled for release on May 27, 2004, but a compromise agreed to by Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert allowed a sixty-day extension through July 26. The Gorelick wall (between CIA and FBI) Jamie S. Gorelick http://www.scribd. com/doc/134423096/ 1995-CIA-Gorelick- Doc-Letter “we (The Clinton Administration) believe that it is prudent to establish a set of instructions that will clearly separate the counterintelligenc e investigation from the more limited, but continued, criminal investigation. What Elite Journalist think of You!
If Scott Pelley believes what he says then he and his industry think of the masses as does the Federal Government. “”Pelley said the republic relies on the quality of the news business. "Democracies succeed or fail based on their journalism," said Pelley. "America is strong because its journalism is strong. That's how democracies work. They're only as good as the quality of the information that the public possesses. And that is where we come in."” America is NOT STRONG because of the Media and it sure as hell is not because of THE government. Here are some more of Scott Pelley’s comments. “Our house is on fire," said Pelley. The video of Pelley's speech is courtesy of nowthisnews.com. "These have been a bad few months for journalism," he added. "We're getting the big stories wrong, over and over again." The CBS newsreader was quick to take at least partial blame. "Let me take the first arrow: During our coverage of Newtown, I sat on my set and I reported that Nancy Lanza was a teacher at the school. And that her son had attacked her classroom. It's a hell of a story, but it was dead wrong. Now, I was the managing editor, I made the decision to go ahead with that and I did, and that's what I said, and I was absolutely wrong. So let me just take the first arrow here." And Pelley said the republic relies on the quality of the news business. "Democracies succeed or fail based on their journalism," said Pelley. "America is strong because its journalism is strong. That's how democracies work. They're only as good as the quality of the information that the public possesses. And that is where we come in." I guess Mr. Pelley sees himself as important, that is why Entertainment shows have better ratings than many News shows. (Monday May 13 | post #1)
Death Penalty - Jacksonville, FL
We will have to agree to disagree on this point in my 50 plus years I have learned debating faith is a pointless debateSorry to hear about your loss my deepest condolences. We as a society and as people have been given free will to do as we please. Logic would state that if we as a society are unwilling to “Judge” others then we as a society have no need for rule of laws or laws in general. Personally I see crime, specifically those crimes that take away another’s rights, freedoms, liberty and property, as a disease, better yet as a cancer of society. Just like cancer, the patient can choose to live with it or fight against it. Cancer has only one goal, which is to grow and take from its host until both are dead. However, if the patient chooses to fight then its goal must be to survive and killing the cancer is the only option. Have never heard a cancer patient say, everything will be great if I can just keep the cancer confined to my brain, or lung, or liver, etc… you get the point. Unfortunately some people are a cancer to society, for whatever reason, maybe they just want to piss God off, or at least think they can. (Thursday Apr 25 | post #57)
Death Penalty - Jacksonville, FL
No apologies required here we are having a spirited debate of opinion. You use the words Rage, Revenge and Anger as if these are the only emotions used to determine the consequences of persons actions. Rarely if ever does the initial victim or his or her family receive a trial before they were killed. No looking at the evidence, questioning of innocents or guilt no trail by their peers to decide innocents or guilt. That is what a murder gets in our justice system, was it self-defense, was it an accident, was it heat of the moment or was it calculated with intent to take a life of someone else? You say you are a religious person, yet you seem willing to ignore a basic principle of God. Was Samson a good man, how about the Israelites when conquering the promise land? Sorry I don’t see where prisons where been built. I support the death penalty and believe it should be used as a consequence for those who have no respect for others freedoms and liberties. While prison has it place it is not always a guarantee that the action of taking a life will be constrained. It is easy to punish someone with less than is required, however, in my opinion takes great conviction and morality to do the right thing a send someone to meet the ultimate judge. Matthew 5:38 "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' Exodus 21:25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. Leviticus 24:20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. Leviticus 24:20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. Deuteronomy 19:21 Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. (Wednesday Apr 24 | post #55)
