Ever-resilient Orlando Magic remain cool, confident despi...

Maybe instead of the Magic speculating on going back to L.A., the should just focus on tonight's game. Until you win it, game 5 is ALL you got.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #12)

Magic, Stan fail at basics

You can say what you want about Phil Jackson, but can anyone ever remember him making such an outright, boneheaded decision (especially in a Finals game) as not fouling a known-to-be-clutch , 3pt-shooter in the closing seconds of a game where Phil's team had a 3pt lead? It's worth wondering, with all the assistant coaches on the Magic bench, was one (or more) of them assigned to monitoring and assess end-of-game situations and then make the call on strategy? Whatever the reason, that was an easily preventable, coaching mistake and falls on the head-coach. And if SVG still feels Nelson is going to suddenly regain his pre-injury, all-star form in the finals and make the difference in the the outcome of this series, he needs to go back to being an assistant-coach.  (Jun 13, 2009 | post #21)

Bricks, but few brickbats

Ha-ha-ha! Hey, Ed Palubinskas; if you want people to respect your opinion about the causes of missed free-throws, maybe you shouldn't let it be known that you were once Shaq's free-throw coach. I mean, seriously...  (Jun 13, 2009 | post #3)

style points

You people can cry about Dwight Howard's missed free-throws all you want, but (like with your old buddy, Shaq) if you're depending on Dwight Howard's free-throw shooting to win games, then you need to move out of Disney World, pronto. Btw, how'd you like Howard's 16pts, 20rebs and 9blks? Think any of that kept the Magic in the game? And maybe some of those NINETEEN TURNOVERS cost the Magic the game, eh? Bottom line...D-Fish, baby!  (Jun 12, 2009 | post #53)

Apparently, you're blind... (btw, learn to read a box-score and compare the foul/free-throw differences -- IN FAVOR OF THE MAGIC)  (Jun 12, 2009 | post #198)

Not to single out Superman's kryptonite near the end of regulation (;^), but the Magic as a team need to shoot better from the free-throw line. In game 4, the Magic shot 22-37 (59.9%); the Lakers shot 15-20 (75%). Notice the discrepancy? The Magic attempted SEVENTEEN MORE free-throws than the Lakers (guess the refs didn't get the word from Stern to favor the Lakers, lol), and obviously the game-winner was in there somewhere. Btw...for the series, the Lakers (101) have been called for FOURTEEN MORE fouls than the Magic (87) -- resulting in the Magic attempting THIRTY-ONE MORE free-throws than the Lakers. So any Magic fans complaining about the officiating need to *STFU*. D-Fish, baby!  (Jun 12, 2009 | post #191)

Brace for Magic breakup

We'll take Hedo if you guys don't want him! (;^) Great timing on your article there, George; can't you let these poor folks savor something for a day? I do admire your honesty, however, in not even pretending like you've been here before (first winning-game of the finals in franchise history). But, then again, I suppose Magic fans deserve you. Orlando welcomes fake Jack to arena

An NBA Finals article about a fake Jack Nicholson??!? Only in Orlando, lol. "Well, landsakes, Earlene, if that just don't beat all!?" "Oh, Jim Bob, I'm getting the vapors just thinking about it!" "Greeeeeen Acres is the place to be..." (c'mon, Magic fans; y'all sing-along now) "Faaaaaarm livin' is the life for me..."  (Jun 10, 2009 | post #2)

Orlando Magic make history in first NBA Finals win

Well, congratulations are certainly in order for the Orlando Magic and their fans. You finally popped your cherry in the finals. Got a win, baby! Feels good, doesn't it? Just think, if the Magic can only achieve a finals-record shooting % in three more games, and maintain an advantage in FTs attempted (14 more than the Lakers for the series so far, but hey...we don't complain about the refs), you guys are gonna win this series -- no doubt about it! But the Lakers are here, baby! As it is, I now get to hang around here, exchanging witty repartee with the more erudite locals. (Btw, since you have easily exceeded my mandatory 300 replies, I've actually started to read them -- that is, those from which I could actually decipher the spelling and grammar. My my, you folks certainly are a colorful bunch!) Know what...? I just bought a new broom, anticipating a sweep, and now, as that's been rendered moot, and since Mr. Laker employs a maid to clean his palatial abode, I simply have no use for the broom. Perhaps one of you have a suggestion as to what I might do with my new broom? Mr. Laker would really appreciate any and all input. (;^)  (Jun 10, 2009 | post #23)

Magic's offense is at the breaking point

When you are out-shot (%-wise) from both the field and the line, and commit over one-third more turnovers than your opponent, you are going to lose the game 99% of the time. But hey...you people know this, right?  (Jun 9, 2009 | post #5)

Fans upset that goaltending gets free pass in Game 2

I would suppose, then, that the pair of "missed calls" cancel each other out. That seems only fair. (heh-heh...snicker )  (Jun 9, 2009 | post #3)

Btw, While I realize most of you can't read or spell (the ballot for the 2000 National Election gave you a choice of G-O-R-E and B-U-S-H; that being -- alas, in hindsight -- a wee bit too much for "you-all " to handle), but you might at least ATTEMPT to learn how to read an NBA box-score; that is, if you wish to understand and appreciate the FACTS concerning why your team is losing.
