Snack maker has taste for Brownsburg

Well I knew a mexican who drove after 11pm and was totally sober. So you're ridiculous statement that "they all are" is false....as probably the rest of the crap you are spouting. How about a source since its a "proven statistic". Get real.  (Mar 17, 2008 | post #21)

good points. I dont see how one can assume this company will hire illegal aliens...or that these jobs are beneath people in Hendricks County. Maybe the majority will be $9/hour, but there will still be supervisors, managers, plant maintenance, probably HR reps and maybe an IT guy or two. It's jobs and property taxes for the area. Better than an empty field. Lighten up folks.  (Mar 17, 2008 | post #20)

Brownsburg seeks rec center site

Actually, now that I think about it.... St Malachy offered the city the land they have up north in exchange for the ball diamonds so St M could stay put. City declined. Maybe someone should reconsider. Let ball parks and new rec center move north and St M stay put and expand on current site. It wont happen because too many people are invested in the move -but I think it should be looked at.  (May 3, 2007 | post #21)

Brownsburg seeks rec center site

Maybe too small an area...but that would be a great location adjacent to Arbuckle Park and the ball diamonds.  (May 3, 2007 | post #20)

Jackson's 2 ejections won't bring suspension

Refreshing change of pace

Al had a 3-4 night last night to take his playoff stats to 25% shooting (8-31) and he's now 1-8 in 3P. Jackson can ball, but man - I was sick of him complaining and jabbering. Game 2 when he got tossed is why I'm glad he's gone. And oh yeah, we threw in Sarunas... I'm glad to see them all go...even with their success at GS. So as a fan, Yeah...I'd still make the deal. Pacers are so screwed up now, I'm not sure we've gotten a good feel for Murphy and Dunleavy yet. Diogu is a banger and I'm excited about his development. Certainly the trade gave GS that last bit of oomph to make the playoffs and I really am happy for the players and fans. Obviously on the Indiana side it will take more time for the fruits of the trade to manifest themselves (at least I hope!)  (May 2, 2007 | post #33)

Okay - this is probably a dead thread...but I'm predicting Del Harris, current Mavs **** 't, Plainfield IN native and former Coach of the Year as next Pacer Head Coach.  (May 1, 2007 | post #90)

Refreshing change of pace

Would Del Harris, current Mavs assistant, Plainfield IN native and former Coach of the Year be interested? Although he is 69 yrs old, he seems in good health. I wonder if that's one of the assistants that Bird talked about?  (May 1, 2007 | post #6)

Smokers tapped to pay for new health plan

I have a 67 year old brother and a 59 year old brother. Both grew up in an time when smoking was more prevalent - before the Surgeon General report and ban on advertising. About 15 years ago, the 59 year old quit smoking, the other one kept on. The 67 year old has been battling lung cancer for four years, chronic circulation and heart issues for at least ten, and consuming all sorts of health care resources. The quitter is in good health, eats right, exercises moderately and hasnt spent much in health care the last five years. Smokers consume health care dollars. Smokers increase everyone's health care costs. Smoking decreases productivity. Why not tax alcohol? It is taxed and perhaps it should be higher....good idea.  (Apr 30, 2007 | post #137)

Pacers' fate rests in Bird's hands

I'm with you on this. Didn't a lot of people say hiring Bird was just a PR move? The self-proclaimed 'hick from French Lick" is truly that, and I wonder how well respected he is with other GM's and owners. Certainly they admire his on-court playing accomplishments and rightfully so...but he 'don't always get it'. Tell us Bob...Does the Star purposely loose their (sic) note when quoting Bird or do you simply look for quotes with the proper English? Bird as top notch CEO? Sorry man, that emporer don't (sic) have clothes!  (Apr 27, 2007 | post #42)
