I don't think that I am being overly sensitive, your observation and statement were very strong. Don't try and backpedal now.  (Jul 26, 2010 | post #97)

...essentially calling into question the integrity of all my statements based on one fact. Much like a trial attorney would attempt to discredit a witness's testimony based on one misstep.  (Jul 26, 2010 | post #96)

Immigration - Round Lake, IL

Well anything/anybody lost to a crime is priceless, so I don't know that there is a fair comparison there. However, the better comparison would be the fence vs. other solutions. Don't be so sure about the cost of the fence, etc...as we have seen construction costs and government projects don't seem to be cheap.  (Jul 26, 2010 | post #122)

See above....I can comment from my same couch and show a different location depending on where my internet is flowing through that day. I was traveling when the SD location came up. I didn't know I was on trial here.  (Jul 26, 2010 | post #93)

And I think you don't know how to read. I fully support legals and want immigration laws enforced. I have stated so many times. The problem I have with this particular method is the level of subjectivity and the inherent profiling that comes along with it. It becomes my problem when a few ignorant fools clamor for its application everywhere. If, everyone at every traffic stop were made to show proof of citizenship every time, then I would not have a problem with the law if in point of fact the execution were as such. But it is not written that way and too much is left to the discretion of human officers. And while I respect officers, do we really need to list every instance a police officer has abused his position? Oh, and its not only thugs that have tints. I belong to the Chicagoland BMW forum (and as far as I know I am the only hispanic - in fact most are white). Many are affluent professionals. Every member has their window tinted...many beyond legal limits. Mine are legal. But far be it from an informed and fair individual such as yourself to paint with a broad brush. And you wonder why I have an issue with anyone's individual judgement. Thanks for proving my point. Idiot.  (Jul 23, 2010 | post #89)

Twisters Elite - Delete

Twisters Elite in Lake Villa is more concerned with profits then the team spirit they claim to expouse. You are considered loyal only so long as they can profit from you. Once you try to move for valid reasons you cannot leave the door open. You are excommunicated summarily regardless of the fact that you have dutifully paid your dues and supported their business for years and have organized fundraisers for them. We were told after moving to another gym that our children were disloyal and were never welcome back because we went to a competitor. The children have nothing to do with the valid business reasons we had for changing gyms. So the owners will take out their business differences with the parents on the children who sweat and bleed for them. If you must cheer there, here is a tip. They have an annual try out process. They do not announce practice days/times or coaches until after the process. The registration fee is 4 x's that of other gyms in the area and it is non-refundable. If you have any schedule restrictions, wait until after the try outs to register. That way you will know what skills are required for what team, who the coaches are and what days practice will be. Be prepared. They will nickle and dime you to death, with "mandatory purchases". They will nickle and dime your time to death with unscheduled "mandatory " practices as well. All that and they only enter competitions that either they control or with inferior competition. The coaching staff has listed high school kids and parents who have never cheered in their life.  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #1)

Well said! If these people weren't taking or dealing drugs in the first place, the likelihood that things like this would happen to them would decrease dramatically. Why don't they just stand outside on their roofs in a lightning storm holding a metal rod?  (Jun 21, 2009 | post #191)

That's the point SWK...YOU are the one with the double standard. You may be able to justify it with your interpretation, but that doesn't mean we all absolve you. You can't have a double standard and then accuse others of having a double standard, thus the hypocracy. And judging is judging, whether it is justified in your mind or not. Truths are only truths if imperically proven, the minute faith steps into the picture truth goes out the door (ask the crusaders deus vult), otherwise Santa and the Easter Bunny are truths. Again, I am sure that the WTC terrorists were justified in their religious interpretation as well. I thought you were leaving this conversation, or was that yet another lie? Just Sayin - yes, I did read all of it -> know your enemy and all. And you and Stony are still the most logical and reasonable posters on here even if I don't agree with you both all the time. Maybe SWK should spend more time making the world a better place instead of posting negative comments on here. Yes, the minute you used scripture to call out someone else it is negative. Passive-aggressive ly negative, but negative nonetheless. BTW, conversate should be converse. I hate that word, it is ghetto. It has become slang vernacular but that doesn't make it right either.  (Jun 17, 2009 | post #61)

Oh, and before you go on, I did read the interpretation of the scripture that you believe. I beg to differ in one fundamental assumption, the existence of God and the interpretation of his word. Maybe that makes me a Pharisee based on what you believe. However, scriptures have been bastardized to justify numerous atrocities throughout the world's history. By your interpretation, the Islamic Jihadists are riteous and justified (with the key exception of Jesus v. Muhammed, God v. Allah). One key note within your sermon - read it again. "It is a false accusation if you believe that your salvation is conditioned on the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Christ alone, thus judging by essential gospel doctrine." The key word being judging. So then you are judging? Or aren't you?  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #36)

I have also noted that rather than refute my argument you have chosen to attack my character (or lack thereof).  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #32)

Jeezuz - you crack me up. I don't care why you did what you did. It doesn't change who or what you have portrayed yourself to be here, regardless of your own self-dellusions. Hey, I am vain. I am seriously flawed. I accept who I am. Here is the key difference - I even accept who you are and wouldn't care if until you hide behind your our self-proclaimed piety. I brought it up here because I knew it would honk you off, providing me with hours of entertainment. Guess what? I was right! You may now remove the hook from your cheek that you still refuse to turn.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #31)

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that you care so much about what I or everyone else thinks (or else why would you defend yourself so vigorously instead of turning the other cheek?) speaks to your vanity as well. As to being judgmental - why would you quote scripture aimed at one person (good4you) unless you felt that he needed scripture and guidance? This is called being judgmental. I can quote too but from a more current and vernacular source dictionary.com: judgmental: –adjective 1.involving the use or exercise of judgment. 2.tending to make moral judgments: to avoid a judgmental approach in dealing with divorced couples. ***see #2 (oopsies for you) Vanity –noun 1.excessive pride in one's appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.; character or quality of being vain; conceit: Failure to be elected was a great blow to his vanity. 2.an instance or display of this quality or feeling. Pharisee - n. 1. Pharisee A member of an ancient Jewish sect that emphasized strict interpretation and observance of the Mosaic law in both its oral and written form. 2. A hypocritically self-righteous person. ***see #2 (oopsies for you again) Again, I give a rat's arse how you live your life or even what you say here until you try to start to on the one hand uphold your piety and on the other passive-aggressive ly attack another with your morals. At least when I call you out, you know it. I'm honest with myself and you about what I am directly saying to you.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #28)

Oh, and you can lie to yourself all you like Pharisee. I admit to judging you based upon your posts here where you have in other threads quoted scripture on numerous places that you are a judgemental bible thumper. Until you can admit that to yourself and know yourself you cannot even begin to attempt to walk in the footsteps of Christ no matter what you say or what you profess. Now that's TOUGH LOVE.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #14)

Now I'm LOL. I have no problem with any of that until you pass judgement upon others who rightly or wrongly express their opinion in a public forum while at the same time appearing holier than all.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #13)

Alot of urban looking young people of color tend to lend people to think that there are rampant gangs. The reality is that most of these guys are just posers.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #11)
