Most Americans are derelect in their duty to be informed. I commend most TOPIX members, who are less derelect. The US soldiers who died for our freedom over three centuries deserve better than an unengaged electorate.
Ex-officials: Bush admin. ignored Iraq corruption
This is a Rush Limbaugh lie. You are being led like a sheep. Clinton almost took Bin Laden out, but missed by a day, when he bombed the al Quada training camp. The intelligence was just out of date. No fault of anyone. The GOP at that time, accused Clinton of 'wagging the dog.' You, like Newt, were probably one who did not see the threat Bin Laden posed at that time. Certainly, the Republican national leadership was three years behind Clinton. The phony Limbaugh legand that Libya 'offered' Bin Laden on "a silver platter" is untrue, and pernicious. This phony offer was was even before the attack on Bin Laden's camp. Truth is, the GOP has and will continue to miss the boat. Please stop lying. (49 min ago | post #528)
Clinton Campaign Presses Forward
What is all of this wacky talk? Most of the anti-Clinton or anti-Obama posts above are from tat insane minority who still think Bush is doing a good job. They are all idiots or whores. They have not a shread of patriotism. * Mr. Obama has been unable to win the nomination in the primary elections. * Mrs. Clinton has been unable to beat Mr. Obama in caucus states. Obama has won in most of the states which will give their electoral votes to McCain. Clinton has won in most of the 'traditional' Democratic, and also the 'swing' states. The Democratic National Convention will be an OPEN CONVENTION. Neither candidate has been able to accumulate the 2245 delegate votes needed to clinch the nomination. Both the Clinton and Obama campaigns heve shown great strength in this election campaign. Delegates are bound only for the first ballot. Most delegates will stick with their candidate through the second, and third balot, on moral principal. Then, all bets are off. There will be no 'smokey room' The Boss system has been obsolete since TV was invented, and died in 1974. The drama of this Convention should be thrilling; and those who demand Mrs. Clinton should drop out 'for the good' of anything do not understand politics; and certainly do not understand the power of MASS MEDIA. This open convention will be a Godsent to local and state Democratic slates all over the USA. After the second or third ballot, votes will fall away from the frontrunner; and he will fight through subsequent ballots to win them back. No one can say who will emerge, but that person will be our next President, so all DNC Celegates have an especially sacred duty this August. Our next President will have to be like Hercules cleaning the Augean Stables. The mess is unthinkably huge, and the resources are all but spent. May we all rmember what the excesses of greed and hubris of that un-American relighin; the NEO-Conservative movement, and their allies the 'religious right' have wrouht. They have bankrupt our nation, and exhausted our means of recovery. They have ruined our military strength, our ability to lead the world, and our economy. They have besmitrched our national honor, and our flag. (2 hrs ago | post #13)
The Truth About Veteran Suicides
Blaming the administration is pretty rediculous." -bryts "So were the veteran suicides Bush's fault after WWII? how about Korea and Vietnam? Keep pushing you're politics and ignoring the real problem."-bry ts Either you are lying now, as before; or I am somehow seeing Bush in your quotes, just above. Perhaps it is me. In any case, Bush is responsible for all the damage to our veterans, our troops, our military, our economy, our trade, our markets, and our employment. His incompetance, and the foolisness of his apologists will be legendary in US history, right up there with Benedict Arnold and Aldrich Ames. (15 hrs ago | post #111)
The Truth About Veteran Suicides
Counseling, mental health care, and understanding of PTSD have come a great way since the great wars of the early and mid 20th Century. You'd never know it. Our active veterans today suffer for two main reasons: 1) Those professionals you refer to are not maintained, budgeted for, at military hospitaals & bases, by guess who (your 'president.') 2) There is great pressure on the command structure, top to bottom, to keep recycling hurting troops back to Iraq. This is because of: (a) the lack of a military draft as the policy of the Commander in Chief (guess who,) and (b) The abuse of the worn troops by employing the STOP LOSS policy for a back door draft, ordered by (guess who.) Bush has worn down our military to the point of abuse. There is your lie. (22 hrs ago | post #93)
The Truth About Veteran Suicides
"Mr_Bill wrote: <quoted text> let us see how many combat tours Bush's new son-in-law serves. You are a shit-shoveler. It it those who support the turn-coat bush who have deserted the colors, just as sure as Bush himself is still AWOL. You dishonor your dead cousin by holding him up as a reasion for more thoughtless war. Until now, our flag has never waved over torture and terrorism. You have turned your coat, and don't know it. Wake up! The words of Pogo are now chillingly true: "We have met the enemy, and he is us." God Bless America, and save us from false patriots. Soldiers in combat do their duty and follow orders. The lies, deceit, evil, and falsity of the cause does not lessen their honor. It only steals their glory. Time for you to wake up. You live in a tissue of lies. The Bush administrtion has been dragging our flag through the mud for almost eight years. WE must raise the flag, and purify our vision. Listen up: http://www.poofcat .com/mycountry.htm lI havn't used fowl language; but I will now: All the political-office supporters of the false war in Iraq are CHICKENS. Is that fowl enough? You are still a shit-shoveler: Your linking of the traitor GW Bush with patriotism in pure shit.Do you advovate terrorism and torture as American policy? It is not a fine day when young Americans die to boost the price of gasoline; but when you strip away everything else; that is the bare bones of US policy...keep fighting, and petroleum keeps rising. I think your ideas, and politics, are more foul than any words. You and your type are unspeakable. (23 hrs ago | post #92)
McCain Differs With Bush on Climate Change
MAY 20 Brother, or sister, we are watching Kentucky. VOTE CLINTON, stop the madness. I've had a wonderful time at the Washington Chocolate Festival, and always loved Frankfort. Had one of the finest meals even in Bardstown. The whole world is watching. The head must bow and the back will have to bend, Wherever the people may go; A few more days and the trouble all will end In the field where sugar-canes may grow; A few more days for to tote the weary load, No matter, 'twill never be light, A few more days till we totter on the road, Then my old Kentucky home, good night! UM, it was Bush who was asleep at the switch (actually, he was on a five month vacation,) on September 11, 2001. The outgoing DEM administration left explicit warnngs about the Al Quedah plotting. It was put in the bottom drawer. Why? Ask Bandar Bush, Bush's kissin' Saudi cousin; who represents the family that funds Osama Bin Laden's Al Quadah. Bush Rule #1: NO INVESTIGATIONS OF SAUDI ROYAL FAMILY INVOLVEMENT IN PLOTS AGAINSST AMERICA !!! Remember Osama Bin Laden? Bush didn't, and doesn't. We are no safer for Bush's 'security' window dressing. Lying FOOL. (Yesterday | post #334)

Quite true. A true conservative abhors endless foreign wars for no national interest. A true conservative embraces environmental protection, and is repelled by religion in politics. A true conservative also keeps religion and pseudo-science out of the schools. A true conservative opts for limited government spending, and pays for it with taxes; hates deficits. To this point, I am a true conservative, but we part ways on two other issues: A true conservative will always favor management over labor, and use the government to unbalance the fairness of collective bargaining. A true conservative opposes use of the tax structure to further social policy. (Yesterday | post #325)
