Posh Pet Hotel Opens In San Francisco
I went to the grand opening this weekend. This place looks so sweet. They sound top notch and the pricing was very reasonable. They were totally showing Lady and the Tramp on the LCD TVs in the luxury suites. (The tour leader said plasma like the art, but they were 25-ish inch LCDs) (May 15, 2007 | post #1)
Councilman Explores NYC Foie Gras Ban
Actually I have a theory that how good a food tastes is proportional to the cruelty inflicted upon the animal. Foie Gras ... tasty Veal ... mmmmn Tofu ... eeew (Jan 7, 2007 | post #7)
U.S. approves new Pfizer obesity drug for dogs
What does it say for the willpower (at attention to the importance of fitness) of the average American, when we can't even keep the weight in check of an animal whose entire food supply is externally controlled. (Jan 5, 2007 | post #2)

Keith Ellison to swear in to Minnesota's Congressional seat usi...
Wow. A congressman brave enough to go against the mold and try to set an example for us. There's hope for our republic yet. As far as I'm concerned the Koran is just as good an instrument to swear upon as the Bible. Both can be used to find excuses for acts of love and hate, How we live our lives comes not from the literal texts, but from how we interpret their messages. (Jan 3, 2007 | post #2)

1 Missing Climber Found Dead on Mt. Hood
Sure these climbers did something stupid when they decided to go try climbing against the inclement weather. Every climber knows they take their lives in their own hands when they choose to push themselves to the limits, and every climber better damn well know that climbing in a snow storm is a bad idea. That being said, I also don't want our emergency service personnel to be thinking about how stupid someone is, and choosing whether or not to rescue them. I've done enough brain-dead things in my life (at sea level. I'm careful when I'm on a mountain and thankfully haven't needed support there) where I don't want the EMT's saying, "Well he was too stupid to avoid that car going the wrong way on the freeway. It's Darwin's way." (Dec 17, 2006 | post #8)

Saddam Hussein ends hunger strike: lawyer
Can someone explain to me what the purpose of a hunger strike is if not to have self-inflicted detrimental "health reasons"? (Feb 27, 2006 | post #4)
