Marijuana - Rogue River, OR

It's a psychoactive drug. It is not a curative drug, it is a brain deadener that helps people forget they hurt. I can do that with booze. Why would a doctor with any ethics prescribe that? If you have pain and claim you must have marijuana, then why not work with a prescription version of it? That would take the growers, who are really out to make money and/or get high and they don't care a hoot about you. Take the illegal part out and put the medical part in. But I still say, no drugs. Choose health, choose clean and sober. No drugs.  (Apr 25, 2011 | post #16)

Marijuana - Rogue River, OR

I cannot support the legalization of any substance that helps a person escape from reality. Healthy people live clean and sober. Choose health, not dope.  (Apr 25, 2011 | post #15)

Southern Oregon leads state in medical marijuana cards

Evolution is how species change and how society changes. No business organization made a big plot and then closed sectors out to monopolize a market. Yes, they lobby to encourage an advantage for their industry, but the results are a natural organic growth of our society. All situations are the result of environmental and social conditions that evolve over time. Conspiracies are almost always bogus.  (Apr 22, 2010 | post #26)

Pot Patch, like other med patches, you peel and stick on your shoulder and you absorb meds slowly for several hours. A "pot head" is a drug abuser, not a person needing medication. A heroin addict or alcoholic uses less medication too as they are already self-medicated. The drug industry would love to have pharmaceutical marijuana, do not kid yourself.  (Apr 22, 2010 | post #25)

If it is truly "medical " then have a doc actually write a prescription and get your POT patch at the pharmacy. From the very beginning, medical marijuana has been a thinly disguised attempt to legitimize and legalize maijuana for recreational use. There are over 9,000 people in the Rogue Valley with medical marijuana cards. I thought it was for those suffering from cancer therapy or overwhelming pain. No way we have 9,000 people in the valley with that level of need.  (Mar 3, 2010 | post #16)

Local hospital cuts emergency department wait time in half

It's great to see how well it is working. As an employee of the parent comapany of TRCH, Asante Health System, I applaud all the hard work the TRCH staff did to alleviate the wait times and crowding in the very busy emergency deparntment.  (Mar 3, 2010 | post #1)

Health Care - Medford, OR

What do you mean the government has managed to run anything well? Who made the Interstate system? Who funded, researched, and developed the Internet? Last time I checked, Medicare was successfully providing extensive health coverage to over 100 million Americans. That's not doing well? Is your definition of "doing it well" that there are no glitches or mistakes? Nobody can do that.  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #7)
