title for a new Van Halen album

"Original and Inevitable" would have been my choice... "A Different Kind of Truth" is weak.  (Feb 9, 2012 | post #160)

Ullrich Turns To Cyclosportive Racing

No, he's not returning to professional cycling. Jan is 38, a quiet family man who loves cycling and will ride every now and then, mainly for good causes... respect that.  (Aug 19, 2011 | post #2)

Van Halen Rumored To Be Releasing New Single Soon

I do think Van Halen can come up with an excellent album; I wasn't expecting much from DLR on stage (yes, I crossed the Atlantic to watch them in Philly) and he and the band rocked! p  (Aug 19, 2011 | post #11)

New Van Halen Album Nears Completion

I like "Can't Stand This Stuff No More" and "Me Wise Magic" a lot. And "Humans Being" too. There are a couple of gems in "VH III" but the album is not that well produced and too much pressure was put on Gary Cherone. Gary was awesome live, brought back so many good stuff from the old days and proudly sang it all... no matter if it was DLR or SH. I do believe their next album (had it seen the light of day) would have been great. I also would like to have heard their work with Mitch Mallow, with who they worked in 1996 as well. And yes, I can't wait for the new album with DLR.  (Aug 2, 2010 | post #7)

Sammy Hagar: Joe Satriani 'Is The Best Guitarist I Have E...

People often confuse their favourites artists (onstage) with the persons (offstage). You know, Mother Theresa was a great person but it doesn't make her a better guitar player. And that's that. Both Eric Clapton and Edward Van Halen (along with a few others) were influential enough to change the perspective of guitar in music... I would add Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Nuno Bettencourt and a few more. Joe Satriani is a fine guitarist and one of the few that made me (and so many people) want to pick up and play a guitar... but he's not even close to those guys... his "Surfing With The Alien" is, still as of today, his finest work and he's known for Satch Boogie, Crushing Day or Always With Me, Always With You. He's brought little or no new stuff since his Engines of Creation, methinks. Even though he played with Deep Purple and Mick Jagger, only now he's taking his first steps as a band member that writes/perform for people and not only guitarists... And Chickenfoot's first album shows that; it's a good fun album but not a masterpiece, far from it. And the guitar work is cool, groovy/funky, but somewhat repetitive, far from Zep. People are bummed because Eddie hasn't put out real great tunes since 1998 (or 1996, if you deslike III that much). And this fact doesn't have a thing to do with Satch or what Sam may say about him. Just the other day, Sam was singing live in New Haven (rebaptized New Halen) and saying "Ed's the best friend I've ever had in my life". It's worth what it's worth.  (Aug 2, 2010 | post #26)

Was 9/11 a conspiracy??

9/11 happened because americans were too busy arguing with each other, neglecting there's a world abroad & overseas... and, yes, Mexico and Alaska are not overseas. The latest posts in this forum clearly show it. By observation (and definition of the word), 9/11 was a conspiracy. The question will remain if the US Government and/or other agencies/entities took active part in it. The pentagon issue is indicative. But one will (probably) never know for sure... as in the JFK assassination, etc.  (Aug 2, 2010 | post #159685)

Jan Ullrich

Andy Schleck must be ruthless if great rivalry is to deve...

I do believe ideal conditions were never created by Telekom (and later, T-Mobile) for Jan Ullrich to rivalise with Lance Armstrong. Ironically, Jan's best performance was in 2003, when he was with Bianchi, a real weak team. The german teams had distractions, were split in half (did Vinokourov ever do anything for Ullrich or was he always minding his own business and goals?). The kazakh's money and sponsors bought his place in a team that should have had 7~8 riders supporting a leading rider. Lance always had 8 domestiques. And yes, Jan never had a ruthless approach. Had Ullrich teamed with Bjarne Riis (for example) after the 2003 TdF, different outcomes would have occured. Walter Godefoot and Rudy Pevenage had different thoughts within the same team... and that's also why Andreas Kloden ended up empty-handed in 2006... Just like John Travolta's character says on Pulp Fiction "in Europe, it's all about little differences". And that's that.  (Jul 30, 2010 | post #1)
