DO the Red Bumps go away and how long does it take?

Symptoms are going to get worse before they get better. I have done 2 treatments the last 2 weeks and I have gotten much worse with bumps and rashes but that is to be EXPECTED. Give your skin time to heal and if you have been doing your cleaning and treatment give your skin a week or so to heal and see if you itch less and less. I'm in the same boat you are just like the majority of the people on this forum. And by majority I mean the people who actually have scabies and it isn't in their head.  (Jan 25, 2013 | post #11)

Shelly, if she has fly larvae in her nose she definitely needs to go to the hospital. Take the slide with you and show them what came out of her nose the majority of the people on here will tell you witch cures and non sense. Get your baby to the hospital and have them look at what the hell is going on!  (Jan 25, 2013 | post #3)

What are you doing reading all this stuff! Just keep the house clean everyday, do your treatments, and see what happens! It sucks but its a total waiting game, you are fighting something that can't be seen and most people on this site claim that they can "see things crawl" and "stuff on their clothes" trust me you ain't gonna be able to see these suckers. Do your cleaning, use bleach, use borax, change your sheets, change your clothes, and you will be the 96% that gets cured. That's my approach. This stuff on here will flip your brain and you will start itching all over. STAY POSITIVE!  (Jan 24, 2013 | post #36)

Seriously People Scabies, Mites, Bird Mites, Spider Mites...

woke up today felt great, slept great, didn't itch that bad still have rashes that popped up within 24 hours of the permethrin second dose, the other rashes are slowly healing from the first dose but no new ones have popped up since, vacuumed the house, swiffered the floors, bleached the tables, kitchen, and bathrooms. Only itched once today and it went away, no new bumps besides the ones I already mentioned. oh and I cleaned the laptop and phone and my special chairs I sit in. Gotta clean my bed sheets with some borax and tide hot water like always and wash a load of clothes being as i'm only wearing 2 pairs right now and washing them each day. Gonnna watch some TV tonight as I don't move around the whole house anymore, it's to big and would take to long to clean so I'm just avoiding all 7 bedrooms and only using one bathroom. Talk about a nightmare, but hey at least everything is clean can't clean whats been cleaned already! Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe like always! Kev  (Jan 24, 2013 | post #4)

Yes the dr's now days are very confused and outdated on this bug and think that one Perm treatment from the neck down will kills these little bastards. My Primary Dr said just to apply the perm one time and I should be good. Well needless to say I'll probably only go to him if I have a cold from now on. I'm glad to hear you found a good Dr. I also found a great Dermatologist who really lightened my spirits about what is going on and gave me 2 more Perm treatments to get all the bugs gone and even said if it "didn't work" which was unlikely that we could try something stronger for my peace of mind. Now that is a Dr in my books. I would guess that 90 percent of people are cured on this forum and are having the typical post scabies reaction. The ones that do get reinfested with them will generally have a story of how they mete someone from before and got them again or laid in someones bed etc etc. Hell even my derm has dealt with these nasty critters before. The main thing is that if the cream didn't work, we would have a state of emergency since scabies is diagnosed well over 300 million people a year. So obviously the cream cures millions and millions and millions of people. The people just get on here because they are freaked out and start reading all this crazy uneducated material and assume they are going to die with this. Then magically 3-4 weeks later they are never heard from again. And those that are heard from again know exactly how they got reinfested with these assholes. Listen, if a nursing home or hospital has a scabies outbreak and they can cure all of them, then they can cure one of us. Main thing is keep up the cleaning duty, change your sheets, vacuum the floors swiffer the hardwood, pick out a chair that is easy to clean and make that your chair and once you have cleaned, sit down and get back to reality. It's curable, it's a inconvenience, but everyone gets rid of it. Those people that have had weird reactions usually find out its bird mites, rabbit mites, or some weird mite that just isn't scabies. Don't listen or believe everything that someone writes in their basement about how they know everything about this disease but have had it for 10 years and can't get rid of it....that makes no sense. If i knew everything about something I could damn sure get rid of it. OH and make sure to clean your laptop keyboard after you get done typing. Remember 2-3 days. Treat your scalp and be sanitary, not crazy but sanitary. You will be fine, we all will, it just takes time and post scabies apparently is worse mentally because your not sure if you got all of them or what! So do your treatment 2-3 times and give your skin a rest! And please god don't go putting advantix or dog permethrin or eating horse ivermectin paste. Be logical. Kev  (Jan 24, 2013 | post #3)

Unfortunately Aussie is right the scalp is now the common treatment method it even says in the permethrin case to treat head to toes. I would hang in there for a few more days see what happens what kind of itch you have any new bumps showing up etc. Dear God don't put permethrin on your actual face unless directed so by you Dr. I would just hang in there for a few more days give your skin some time to recover every 3-4 weeks post scabies outbreaks are common. Hang in there buddy.  (Jan 22, 2013 | post #6)

Seriously People Scabies, Mites, Bird Mites, Spider Mites...

Ok I have seriously about had enough of reading some of the totally stupid, messed up, and just plain wrong stories and discussions on here. IF you are someone who is treating themselves for scabies I would highly recommend not reading anything from 90% of the post on this site. It will make you feel like you need to get on your hands and knees with pyrethrin Hot Shot and douse every fiber of carpet, burn your mattress, kill your dog, kick your husband or wife out, loose your job, home, and children. This is getting to be a bit ridiculous. If you ask the majority of sane people on here most everyone is cured of their different "mite" they just keep dousing themselves in chemical after chemical from this pharmacy in india and another one in taiwan and one more in bulgaria. I'm sorry but I would trust the permethrin from the local safeway pharmacy more than some kid doing lab experiments with different compounds and molecular structures which resemble permethrin but does not work the same which you people must understand that if its not the exact same molecular compound it will not have the same effect. It may mimic it but it wont do the same thing just similar. As far as cleaning yes you need to clean but holy jesus almighty in heaven don't make yourself insane. Most people here haven't even been to a Dr. and they trust some guy/woman sitting in their house with scabies, AIDS, HIV, herpes, eczema, dermatitis, hypochondriac with their degree in parasitology from google.com. I understand some people are trying to help and their are a few instances where is it different I.E. Morgellons, bird mites, and other mites contracted from wildlife or animals in which people are actually struggling but in all honesty most people are cured and just not giving their body time to heal. ANY Dr. with experience will tell you every 28 to 32 days your skin sheds a new layer. That is every 3-4 weeks for those of you in post scabies you understand every 3-4 weeks you break out and that is why. Scabies will get in your scalp, so if your not treating your scalp then you better just start all over. I lucked out with a great dermatologist who has been through them before and told me more than I've ever read about them online or on this stupid forum. Keep clean, do your treatments, don't go hugging or humping anyone just act like you have the worst case of flu ever and stay away for a while. Reading some of this sh*t will scare you to death and you will think "oh god i'll have them forever" "i'll never be the same" BULLSH*T. it's curable not one documented case of permethrin resistant scabies has been documented in America, and if the Permethrin happens to not work then find someone who will PRESCRIBE Ivermectin, NOT SOME KNOCK OFF FROM CAMBODIA. Just be cautious, you have a contagious skin disorder, don't loose your sh*t, it is CURABLE. If your Dr. has never heard of scabies or tells you to treat one time with Permethrin tell him to transfer your files to a new Dr. Call around ask what their experience is with scabies or mites. It will all be ok if you look back at all the post since '07 everyone is gone and cured. Yeah it feels like the end of the world but have some faith in your body. It's the most amazing machine ever constructed. As far as me I'm only going to post POSITIVE POST from here on out. There is enough negative shit on here and please baby jesus in heaven don't go pouring acid, borax, etc all over your skin let your skin heal you probably had scabies for months before you knew what it what is it going to hurt to wait a month and see what happens. Now on top of me currently treating for scabies some ASSH*OLE in Minnesota has stolen my credit card number and tried to rack up some goodies at my expense. To everyone else suffering right now we are going to be just like those people in '07. Gone in just a short time so hang in their stay positive and I'll update everyone tomorrow. god bless and keep safe. Kev  (Jan 22, 2013 | post #1)

Does Permethrin even work?!

I would have to disagree with some of what you are saying. Unfortunately I am going to put my full faith in my dermatologist that I saw today who has had scabies multiple times before from charity work. He did say permethrin works, resistant strains have not been found or documented in america and that even if that was the case Ivermectin or a Sulfur blend would kill the bugs for sure. They WILL nest in your scalp and he was telling me that he was actually reading about them recently and the medical community is still debating on if Perm kills the eggs or not but either way 3 treatments of perm will be fine as he deals with at LEAST 3 cases a month. I am going to do 3 treatments, second one today and one next week, bug bomb the house and keep up with the washing. He actually laughed when he saw what it was and said that it was a "fun experience" having these little guys. Sorry everyone but most people on here are a bit extreme unless your dealing with bird mites like Aussie is or some other form a mite. I'm going to put my faith in my dermatologist until he proves me wrong. This shit on here will scare you and most everyone will agree that anything more than 5-6 perm treatments is pure crazy and any dr should know to treat with something different IF the perm treatment fails.  (Jan 21, 2013 | post #229)

Mike, sorry to hear that you have joined this horrible club. Tell us more about your treatment and what else you have done as far as treating your skin. I'm new to this but have read hours upon hours of forums, medical documents, and talked with many people on here and the common consensus is that you have to wait it out. They burrow under your skin and it doesn't mean the treatment didn't work it could be your skin pushing out all the horrible mites, hopefully this is the case but until then I'm pretty sure everyone would agree when I say keep up the cleaning routine and keep an eye on that spot and anymore that come up for at least 2-4 weeks they should get less and less. If they don't then you will deal with that when that happens! I hope I helped! Keep your head up this happens to many people for unknown reasons! Kev  (Jan 20, 2013 | post #2)

how do i get rid of scabies once and for all? its driving...

As far as nodes, men commonly get nodes on their scrotum and shaft due to scabies. Its just how the skin reacts and no its not norwegian scabies. Those are crusty and tan and very distinct and usually only in immuno compromised or elderly people. Just hang in there!  (Jan 20, 2013 | post #3242)
