Top 10 Rappers Alive

I don't see how rappers can be considered corporate slaves. It's obvious enough that recording companies don't necessarily want to make rappers appear stupid (what you are suggesting) so much as they want to make money. And sometimes, they can sell it without really applying that much effort or creativity, as is the case with so many of our Yung Lil Bois and such. If people buy the music, they will continue to make it. You cannot blame the corporations so disproportionately to the target audience that eagerly buys it and doesn't care how informative or afrocentric it is. That being said, Biggie was just wanting to leave the ghetto, so that's what he had a lot of songs about. I honestly doubt that any government or business figures actually had 2Pac murdered; the fact that the circumstances of his death are still not certain makes me think the police were behind it, but you can't present assumptions as the truth.  (Sunday Nov 29 | post #3081)

Legalize Marijuana?

Marijuana is safer, more universally useful, and far easier for the public to produce themselves than a lot of prescribed medications. It's too bad that pharmaceutical companies will have such a hard time profitting from something you can grow yourself in your house! Guess the best solution is to keep it illegal. Taking controlled substances is a personal choice, and to technically turn regular citizens into criminals and force them to have to associate with other (possibly violent) criminals is so stupid and narrow-minded I'm amazed this country hasn't moved on. People that oppose marijuana wish they had the level of self-awareness and contentment that users have. Not that that would mean anything to you, considering you've probably never tried it.  (Saturday Nov 14 | post #8331)

The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, De La Soul, Eric B and Rakim, Lupe Fiasco, Public Enemy, Notorious BIG, OutKast, yadda yadda And for metal, you've got... Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Kyuss, Tool, Mastodon, Isis, Opeth, In Flames, Dillinger Escape Plan, High on Fire, and the list goes on Hear some talented musicians from both worlds before deciding that you hate one. And throw in some Led, a little Beatles, Radiohead, U2, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now you be in bizness.  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #848)

Why is Tupac so Overrated?

Well Rakim is straight HOLY. And of course Wu is multiple people, and I'd say about half of them are better than Pac. Nas and BIG are beastly and imo def superior to Pac. I think Pac was a better musician than BDK. I mean he didn't make that much good music, and he's pretty dated by today's standards. Big L? Well he's fresh but Pac was trying to be something more. Pete Rock the producer? And I can't decide whether Pac or Em is better either.  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #124)

Pelosi throws cold water on weapons ban

Do people find it fun to get pissed off over something they read on the Internet? It's quite prevalent in the political forums.  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #2135)

Pelosi throws cold water on weapons ban

Err I'm not so sure that's always true. Switchblades were illegalized years ago, and now they're nonexistent. Heroin has been illegal, and while it isn't completely gone, it would be a LOT more common were it legal.  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #2134)

Kanye West to Taylor Swift: "I'm Sorry"

Anyway, the whole thing's pretty hilarious. It's not like the Taylor Swift video truly deserved the award, and I think a lot of people felt that way too.  (Oct 26, 2009 | post #461)

Kanye West to Taylor Swift: "I'm Sorry"

I was only trying to explain how I didn't think he was a Nazi. If it's not that hard to understand, then how about we stop talking about it? Hmmmm? Actually, you've got me. I guess I should just stop with my weak attempts to keep up then and just go elsewhere. Where I won't need to deal with people that can only understand the world through the lens of selective reasoning. Goodbye, then, and please don't curb-stomp anyone!  (Oct 21, 2009 | post #454)
