Bainbridge Grill

Well I have read all these post and decided to go check this place out for myself. My family and I went and I can only say great things about the food and service. For a new resturant they are off to a great start. I hope to see them continue to grow. The food and prices were great as well as the service. The owners are very friendly and open to new ideas and suggestions! I wish them well and look forward to going there again soon.  (Jul 16, 2009 | post #9)

Pagans Assaulting Customers in Local Bar.

Does anyone know the man that was injured? Were the police called? I go there regularly and I know Jim. This doesn't sound like him but, you never know. I just hope that something is done about it. They really do have great food there  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #5)

The smoke shop comming to Rising Sun

How proud your parents must be. Smoking pot does effect you in many ways, you are just to young to see it now. I am just glad that you are not someone my children are involved with. What you do, you do but don't try to make it ok for others oh and by the way my ass is not fat! And we the mothers are doing something about it. Children are not perfect and they do make mistakes, looks like yours will catch up with you later then sooner. Shame is you will be the one that we (working people) are supporting when you end up in jail.  (Feb 3, 2009 | post #39)

Drugs don't see color. There are users in every race and gender an addiction does not pick one. IF you look at statistics you will see that. We are not looking at a race issue we are looking at a drug issue. The fact that it is in our town is bad enough but why sit back and allow it to get worse? That is what most of us are saying here. SOmeone else mentioned parents not caring this isn't true either. I have three wonderful kids that are very much cared about and loved but the fact is that no matter how hard a parent tries there is always peer pressure and temptation. We can only hope as parents that we have instilled enough in our children for them to get through this but we were all kids once and the fact is they will get into stuff. That is why it is so important not to have this store and the TRASH it brings in our town. If it isn't there for our children to see then maybe we just cut the risk down a bit.  (Jan 26, 2009 | post #36)

Woman here files $3M suit over crash

you are so right. She didn't even bother showing up to the traffic hearing over it neither did the cop on the scene. If she was that bad off someone would have been there. That is what is wrong with this country too many people looking for a free ride. I hope she doesn't get it.  (Jan 21, 2009 | post #2)

Then why chime in on our disscussion? It doesn't seem as though you are a very educated person yourself. As far as Rising Sun goes we have one of the best school systems in Cecil County. Not sure how well yo know the area but you must not know it too well to be talking like this. No a lot of trailor parks and well no hotels in Rising Sun.....  (Jan 20, 2009 | post #32)

Why make this racial? This has nothing to do with race. Does everthing have to turn to racism? Sounds like to me you have an issue other then what is being disscussed here. Grow up.  (Jan 20, 2009 | post #31)

I personally think that it is a great idea. This area does need something to do. Mr Mulch is also a great location with plenty of room. Good Luck!  (Dec 11, 2008 | post #5)

dead beat parents in port deposit

I hear you I am a single mom of three with little to no help. I agree not all men are bad there are just as many dead beat moms out there i see it all the time. I give you a lot of credit for doing what most (men and women) will not. I know it is not easy but in the end it is you that can sleep at night. I have a lot of respect for you.  (Dec 9, 2008 | post #18)

american girl doll frenzy!!!!!

In 1983, educator, writer and entrepreneur, Pleasant T. Rowland was looking for dolls to give her nieces for Christmas, and found only baby dolls and teen/adult dolls. That shopping experience, coupled with a visit to Colonial Williamsburg, inspired her to create the American Girl line of historical dolls and books. In 1986 the first Pleasant Company catalogs were sent out featuring Samantha Parkington, Kirsten Larson, and Molly McIntire. These early catalogs featured the first three stories of each character's eventual six-book series, as well as their pajamas, beds and trunks. The original facemold used for these dolls was designed by Götz, a German doll-maker. The company subsequently added three more historical characters (Felicity Merriman in 1991, Addy Walker in 1993, and Josefina Montoya in 1997) as well as a contemporary magazine American Girl, a line of contemporary 18-inch 'American Girl of Today' dolls and the 'Bitty Baby' collection for younger girls. In the 1990s production was moved to Hungary for a year and then to China. In 1998 Mattel, Inc. acquired Pleasant Company. Rowland retired as president of American Girl two years later. The layout of the catalogs gradually began to change, shifting to a greater emphasis on the commercial web site and the modern doll collection (versus the historical dolls which were at the core of Pleasant Company's marketing efforts). In 2000, Kit Kittredge was added to the historical line. The company also introduced a line of Limited Edition modern dolls, each produced for only one year. An eighth historical doll, Kaya, was added in 2002 to coincide with the introduction of Hallmark Gold Crown American Girl themed products. Hallmark began to market ornaments, charms and bracelets, bookends and books.[citation needed]. In 2004, the name of the company changed from Pleasant Company to American Girl. In 2005, the name of the "American Girl Today" line was changed to "Just Like You." In 2007, two American Girl Boutique and Bistros, smaller versions of the AG Places, appeared in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. Another two American Girl Boutique and Bistros are scheduled to open near Boston and in the Mall of America in November 2008.[2] A ninth historical doll, Julie, was released in the fall of 2007, along with Julie's Best Friend doll, Ivy.  (Dec 4, 2008 | post #2)

I am a mother of three and we all here hate to see what is happening to our town. But, have any of you looked at the kids these days? There is no respect and they just do not care what the adults think. Anymore trying to correct your kids gets you in deep water and the kids know this. Most parents care/ some don't but the ones who do are just to scared to try and do anything with the kids. And cops in R.S. Please....no offense to the good ones but there are a few that are just as bad as the kids. The smoke shop won't last nothing does in R.S. Look how long the Arcade was there.  (Dec 1, 2008 | post #9)

Man gets 21 to 42 years for attempt to kill daughters wit...

I am a parent and you know what there is No Way or any reason for someone to do that. Judge him we don't have to the courts did and to tell you the truth he got off easy. Then again maybe not considering what they do to people like him in jail. I say have at it. Family or not I would not stand by someone who could do anything to harm their children, who is defending them? Sure don't look like the parents. I would kill someone over my kids and you have idiots like this trying to kill their kids. Let him rot....  (Oct 31, 2008 | post #5)

octoraro lakes

I live down the road from there. I have kids in all three schools and been here 10 years now. We all love it. It is the "maybury " of maryland. If you like quiet places where people are friendly you will love it. There are not a lot of near by shops but there are some a reasonable distance away. The crime rate is low, high school drop out rate is low. I couldn't ask for a better place to raise kids. There are sporting activities little league, Jr Football, cheerleading, soccor, the Boys and Girls Club in town is great as well and there are always other parents willing to help out.  (Oct 31, 2008 | post #3)

Should sex ed. be taught in elementary school?

I think with the teen pregnancy rate it should be taught. I have three kids myself from ages 9 to 14. I am very open with them and we talk about everything but some kids do not have that. I think that they need to be taught by the right people and not wait for them to be educated by their peers. It also helps them with knowing more about their own bodies as well and the changes that they are and will be going through. Today children are developing at a much faster rate then when I was a kid and girls don't look like little girls anymore. So, I say yes educate them not only to prevent babies but STDs aswell.  (Oct 29, 2008 | post #6)

What is your opinion of the school system here ???

Albert, I have three kids in RS schools on in each school actually. My son in the elementary school gets a lot of use out of the computer lab. My kids are honor students and don't get into trouble. The teachers are great in all the schools. I am not saying that it is perfect by any means but, it is a great schoold district. Some of the downsides to the schools are that they are crowded. I also feel that due to the overload the students are not given ample time for lunch. By the time that they make it through the lunch line, to their seat and start to eat it is time to go. I work as a sub. for cecil county so I see both sides of the school system. Given some of the alternate choices in schools Rising Sun is great. Hope this helps  (Oct 28, 2008 | post #12)
