Chris is a very smart young man, wise beyond his years. He had better be the type of student teachers enjoy having because he would not enjoy his mother if he were not. I always tried to teach him that education is not given it is earned and the more you know the better you can be. Chris will be checking into his dorm at UT this Thursday and he did decide to wait on running for school board but has very mixed emotions about that choice however, you can rest assured that you will see his name on a ballot very soon. I liked IE with my XP but with Vista it just kept locking up. I too went to firefox and have not had the first problem. I have known some hispanic families that were more law abiding than Americans and bettering themselves and their families is something that everyone should do and yes I know many Americans that stand in line for every hand out coming down the pike and would not work in a pie factory. I hate it for the ones who try to get here the correct way to better themselves but as an educator you should know first hand that at the root of prejudice is fear. (Jul 7, 2008 | post #304)
I am not sure where your information came from as far as a tax id number but you are mistaken. In order to qualify for a tax id number is to show proof that you either have a visa waiver or have been sponsored by a citizen of the united states to work here for a certain period of time. The people that you know may have entered legally and this is how their id numbers were issued however that does not mean that they left when their time was up. There are also companies that would rather hire a hispanic person through a temp company as to pay a full time employee however, no this is not the fault of the hispanic. I am not trying to argue with you I just wanted you to know the laws concerning customs and border protection and entering the US legally. Tax ID numbers for employment means that you can legally work here and you can not if you did not enter the correct way. (Jul 7, 2008 | post #303)
There have been at least 2 incidents that I know of at the Metro involving law enforcement officers that were in altercations. The first was former MPD officer Chris Lawson and the second was HCSD Frank Goble who is no longer with that department either from what I understand. Not sure exactly what happened but I don't believe either one was very seriously injured. (Jul 4, 2008 | post #4)
