robbery/assault on aug 4th

I agree! We have had a small neighborhood watch for a few years; about 3 of us in area look out for one another, but other neighbors don't bother to say hello or even bother to ask why the police are on the scene. One good neighbor stopped a break-in 2 years ago and the other wrote down the license plate # of the van transporting the kid around the area. Another time, a friend saw 3 kids picking up rocks from a neighbor's landscaping project (yeah, rocks, great idea!) and walking towards my son's truck. But the SP came too late; they broke every window on it and 2 on my car. They got 1 year probation and parents refused to pay for the damages. So, talk to your neighbors and friends, mail persons, delivery folks, etc. and ask them to report anything susp. to the State Police. One avenue to think about is Crime Stoppers, Atlantic County http://nonprofits. aclink.org/crimest oppers/homepage.ht m The Home Page hasn't been updated for quite awhile, but they do try hard! & I wrote this in another Post; Talk w/Neighbors & the BV Station about the NJSP Neighborhood Watch Program: "...The prevention of crime, particularly crime involving residential neighborhoods is a responsibility that must be shared equally by law enforcement and private citizens. The fact is that the impact on crime prevention by law enforcement alone is minimal when compared with the power of private citizens working with law enforcement and with each other. Neighborhood Watch is based on this concept of cooperation, and nationwide statistics prove that it works. When citizens take positive stops to secure their own property and neighbors learn how to report suspicious activity around their homes, burglary and related offenses decrease dramatically... " Stay safe y'all!  (Aug 30, 2009 | post #20)

Unknown, Thanks for the info! I was away for a few days and did not know this happened. My cousin didn't see or hear anything that night, but he didn't go outside when the NJSP came to the home. Be well!  (Jan 26, 2009 | post #38)

YW CC! Update; forgot that my wife found that the AAA service man (we called AAA to change tire w/spare) said he had 25 slashed/poked tires in the immediate area. Only other home he was at, that we know of was next door. Other folks I know/saw that had tires cut do did not call AAA..So add 9 more households to the 25. Total so far is 34 including us; + your Queens. We're adding more floods tomorrow... Our current set-up is for front and back entrances, soooo... Will ck w/good guy (retired Philly Policeman) neighbor on State Police Sit. Update by Friday or soonest. And, I think that the Police did try to get a fingerprint off of the truck that had driver's side window smashed w/blood on seat. Be well CC!  (Jan 13, 2009 | post #9)
