The sad part is, that if this makes the community angry enough....maybe she has made a difference with her death instead of her life. V.I. police officers and K-9 corps led searchers to body of gir...

thank God for this team from the Virgin Islands, if not for their experience and persistence to check out that smell, Shaniya could still be there under that deer carcass. And the fact that she was only 20 feet fromt he command center for the search and they did not bother to check out that smell other than note it was a dead deer tells me that they are a bunch of stupid rednecks!  (Friday Nov 20 | post #1)

I am sorry to tell you, there are many vets of the first Gulf War, that are also, con men, criminals, sexual predators, burglers, etc...being a vet of the first gulf war, does not make one a saint. They are men and women like anyone else...and they are not all perfect. There is a video online of the moment the body was found. I do not recall seeing the dogs present in the video. They said they searched that area again after searching it already was because when the guy in custody told them she would be in an area off a road near I 87, near bags of garbage and a deer carcass...they said they remembered that deer carcass and garbage from the first time they searched that area, and went back...and you can see them look closer, gag and yell that they had found her. Proof, that the first look there was not really investigated because of the deer decay stench.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #371)

I think that she believed that because this was a little black child no one would notice. I also believe that she was very jealous of Shaniya...she had things that she never had. Shaniya was a very pretty child, and there were many that loved her. Shaniya was treated like a little princess at her home.... Or, she could be just a disassociated psychopath that has no contact with reality and has absolutely no morals or compassion. One thing for sure...we will all know when the dust finally settles. Deer get run over by motorists in that area all the time, and when deer is hit by a vehicle, it is called road kill and it is moved to the side of the road...no hunter is going to shoot a deer and leave it's carcass , they take it and have it "dressed "...( meat cut up and wrapped for their home freezers)...this dear that she was near, or under...was a road kill...and she was most likely placed under or near it, so that searchers would assume the smell was the decaying deer and not bother to investigate it further. IMHO, this was not an act of mercy...it was a cunning attempt to hide her body while the evidence decayed.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #363)
