Officials: 2 Hurt In Boat Accident On Oklahoma Lake

It's labor day weekend. You get a lot more attention to a story by saying Oklahoma Lake as opposed to Lake Eufaula.  (Sep 4, 2010 | post #2)

Teenage Girl Killed In Tulsa Two-Car Collision

Sounds like the driver of the car was at fault, but that's the other danger of drinking and driving. Even if it isn't your fault, if you have been drinking, you will likely be completely responsible. And you should be, because you shouldn't be on the road at all!!! The other lesson is when buying a car, you are finding a balance between fuel economy and safety. Finally, when the light is red, STOP!!! My sympathies to the girl's family, and to all those still living. You could be next, maybe that eternity question is more important than you think. Jesus or **** ! It's you're choice, because without Jesus you're not good enough to pass judgement, and there's no other way.  (Sep 4, 2010 | post #16)

Injury Accident Blamed On Cell Phone Use

By the way, I just assisted with a fatality accident the other day. I stopped to help, but dead is dead. I saw it happen. No seat belt. Sorry, I was a little taken aback by the grisly scene to confirm whether a cell phone had been in use. My opinions on these people getting themselves killed hasn't been changed. She should have buckled up, but it may not have mattered. Kind of put a distraction in the rest of my day...but I'm a Christian. Jesus died for moments like this. Life is a vapor. Don't pass laws, just accept the risk when you hit the road. Be careful and establish good habits. I am not fond of mangled bodies and the final twitching of a thumb. When I washed my hands up the road I mistook the soap for possibly perfume the lady was wearing. That was alarming for a moment, I had memories, I didn't need a sensory reminder. I felt the lack of pulse but the last of her warmth. Had she been on the phone and I heard someone saying "hello?, hello?" I still wouldn't support passing stupid laws just because people are stupid. Stupid people agree to give up freedom on account of stupid people. I agree with the founding fathers, Give me liberty or give me Death, and if Liberty results in Death, so be it. Drinking and driving is a different thing as that is a definite choice to be a threat, but cell phones can be used safely, it depends on the individual. So there, I have looked death in cold half-open eyes this week and I'm not swayed. I've left out the gore for fear that the family could make a connection. Otherwise I would have driven the point harder with a fantastic mental picture. We all will die. Some of us just don't have to suffer when we go like this woman did not.  (Aug 26, 2010 | post #57)

Injury Accident Blamed On Cell Phone Use

You're an idiot. My "excuses " as you call them were inexcusable as well. My point, which you aren't sharp enough to see, is that accidents happen, people make mistakes, we all put in many miles and it becomes routine. That's when you get killed. It's an established fact that most enter a hypnotic state while driving. It's another established fact that more laws equal more revenue but people still die. So if you think you are better, then you need to be off the road because you are not responsible enough to learn the lessons that could save your or someone else's life in the future.  (Aug 26, 2010 | post #56)

Prepare for wealth you can't contain. I'm sure dozens of companies have passed over West Tulsa for a lack of a red fork. The name is the cause of their false hopes, but now that will be fixed. This will be a lot better than the Route 66 bridge where travelers from china can see their governments money at work with construction as far as the eye can see. That is if there is an open road to even get to it. Heck even the sidewalks are down to one lane. You can do a lot when you don't have to actually have the money you just have to spend it. When taxes are sky high and there is no recovery, you will have this red fork to remind your children of a time when individuals could afford to own their own fork. As for the construction. The work is needed, it just should have been funded through cutbacks. Maybe a few less cultural centers and some paved roads instead. Maybe new bridges instead of a capital dome. Maybe a school house with text books and real education instead of new flat screens for every classroom. We need the improvements, we just aren't paying for them yet. That's horrible...but doh deh doh.....ignorance is bliss!!!  (Aug 26, 2010 | post #11)

Injury Accident Blamed On Cell Phone Use

You once were a teenager, how many did you kill? You may or may not live to be elderly. You better pray if you do live to be elderly that you never find yourself alone having to get yourself where you need to go if you get your wish of restrictions. A free country is a country where the government is restricted, if you don't like that, please move.  (Aug 22, 2010 | post #22)

We need to pass a law banning passengers too. I blew a stop sign yesterday while talking to a passenger. Of course my eyes were on the road, and the sun was blinding. It was an unfamiliar road with a 65mph speed limit. I made a mistake, but I wasn't on a cell phone or even distracted. I was blinded and not expecting a stop sign in the middle of this open road. Fortunately it was a four-way stop, but no additional laws on the books would have prevented that mistake. Accidents happen. Get rid of your car if you can't handle it, and in the meantime carrying passengers should be illegal as well as car stereo's and any drink that could spill, or any loose object for that matter that might distract you. Also all animals should be shot if they appear near a roadway because they could distract a driver too. And billboards should be banned as well. And big chrome rims because they are just too impressive to not rubberneck that pimp ride as it goes the other way.  (Aug 22, 2010 | post #20)

It's already against the law to murder, sell and manufacture drugs, invade homes, rob, rape, etc. More laws will fix the problem, you bet. People are stupid, and the risk about living is you just might die in the process. We don't need more laws, we need smarter people. Ditch the public education because convincing people about global warming and monkey ancestors is not helping anybody.  (Aug 22, 2010 | post #19)

Woman Killed In Head On Collision Near Sperry

And if he/she could have and did then they have no room to talk because their eyes weren't on the road either. They could have killed someone!!!! Accidents happen and I'm not so worried about distracted drivers with the exception of the texting. I want my family to be as safe as possible but more laws won't do anything but restrict the rights of those who are already responsible and create revenue from those who are texting and driving. People will still die. Now if they said she was drinking, I'd have the meanest comments. Drunk driving is not an accident, it's a choice.  (Aug 20, 2010 | post #25)
