Are S.D.'s politicians corrupt?

HA!!! Toni Atkins is about as smart as a door knob. How this buffoon ever made it to the city council is beyond meaning or words. She loves San Diego so much, she fucked it.  (Aug 28, 2008 | post #25)

Kucinich introduces resolution to impeach Bush

So the little communist troll is at it again? You see, leftists like Kucinich demonstrate every day why they are literally insane, because the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again with the hopes having a different result. Way to go Dennis, you failed again. Moron.  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #7)

These steps could lower oil prices, but nobody'll take them

That's absolutely true and that is why you will never see it. Besides, it will never pass a constitutional review anyway. However, I dare any politician to even suggest it and watch what happens.  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #12)

Senate GOP blocks windfall taxes on Big Oil

You should be named Middle-Class Moron instead. Gas taxes have one expressed purpose only and it's not to fund your idiotic ideas of hospitals and schools. It's to build and repair roads, improve infrastructure as related to moving commerce across this country. Instead those taxes get hauled off to general fund earmarks that your porky-pig senators and congressmen love to get their hands on. And since you can't even spell 'conservatives' properly, why should I even bother to further educate you on the real issues of energy reform as it relates to taxation and the everyday man and woman. Yeah, you are right, you can't fix stupid. What is your excuse?  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #83)

It's because engines that have high compression ratios in the engine due to their performance require a higher octane fuel that burns at a hotter rate and get more energy from the actual combustion of the fuel. Higher end vehicles have higher end engines in them and to get the most horsepower and performance out of them requires a higher quality, higher octane, or 'premium' fuel.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #8)

The only time you will see a national blend is if the Oil/Gas industry in this country becomes nationalized and through federal mandate is imposed on the states. Because here in California we have something called the CARB or California Air Resource Board. These are the leftist tools that enact air quality standards by making the rest of us pay, in the form of taxes for the special blend fuels that only occur here in California and nowhere else. California has one of the strictest air quality standards with regards to automobile emissions on earth and if you think having a national blend will somehow ease prices at the pump, then you would be incorrect. They will fight something like that tooth and nail. However, if refiners said, "hey, we won't be offering mid-grade anymore and instead will double our production of regular instead." you will see prices fall because the supply will increase, refiners can now tool easier for only two grades of automobile fuel (outside of other specialty grades) and capacity is increased. This is a quick turn solution. I don't know of anyone who buys mid-grade at all and in my opinion it isn't necessary. Unless someone can explain to me it's necessity, I'm all ears or eyes in this case. The drill here, drill now people have their hearts in the right place and I support them, but I know the reality of what they are trying to accomplish. One of the Dakotas just recently voted to build a new refinery. You won't see if it for another 10 years unless it's fast tracked past the environmental impact studies, fast tracked through the permitting process, or fast tracked along any part of it's development. However, it won't really solve much since it is on the east side of the rockies, last time I checked, so this refinery will only serve upper midwest states and possibly the states below it. Transporting out to California will be pointless and expensive, so the western half of the US won't see much savings. Also, east coast oil and west coast oil come from completely different parts of the world. Fast tracking drilling in this country and uncapping already known reserves and getting them out into local refineries will help. However, why would any oil company not extract that resource and sell it out on the open market at current rates? The US is already the 3rd largest oil producing country on earth, so if I was any of the oil companies, I'd be salivating to uncap current reserves and tap into new ones to sell out there instead of getting them to domestic markets. We need oil, but I think nationalization of domestic stock will keep it in house.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #6)

It isn't punishment. It is justice. You are depriving this family and humanity the process of justice by allowing him to live. His punishment is death, justice is served by removing this vile sack of trash from the family of man. You are trying to emote some sort of cerebral form of punishment as if he were a child getting his hands caught in the cookie jar and in the knowing you catch him in the lie when asked why he was stealing cookies. It doesn't serve anyone by having him around. What are you going to expect from him, rehabilitation, remorse, undying servitude at rectifying his crimes? You will get none of these things because he is a sociopath, a monster and humanity cannot abide by having monsters living amongst us.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #47)

Want to lower the price of fuel, then repeal boutique fuels that must be produced in California. No more summer/winter blends. No more additives that require refinery retooling and downtime constantly. Repeal the Clinton directive that if a refinery wants to revamp or expand it must reapply for permitting and licensing as if it wanted to build a refinery from scratch and uphold any and all fixes or expansions with environmental impact studies and payoffs to planning boards and the EPA. Why weren't those, including Barbara Boxer, that proposed MTBE to be put into California gas only to have it pulled because it was poisoning ground water not being sued for that debacle? Another tactic that could be taken to reduce fuel prices is to increase supply by stopping the production of mid-grade (89 octane) completely and doubling the production of regular 87 octane fuel. If you aren't making 89 octane then there is more capacity to fill those tanks with twice the amount of regular. So all you would be selling is regular and premium, but you would have twice the amount of regular instead and that would lower the price overall. Just some suggestions.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #4)

One of the ways for the healing to begin is by executing this piece of subhuman filth. His mere existence is an offense to all of humanity and the less of him there are, the better humanity will be. There isn't a need to keep this animal around to breath my air. Give it its trial, give it its sentence, and then let it hang until dead. Problem solved. Why must we give the benefit of 'human rights' to those that don't even have a modicum of the understanding of it. We as supposedly civilized people neglect the fact that in order to remain civilized we must remove those that would feast and prey upon us to further degrade our civilization. His living cannot stand. It's as simple as that.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #24)

Senate GOP blocks windfall taxes on Big Oil

Not to mention that any regressive tax on any oil company will be passed on to the consumer. Any tax on any corporation is never paid by the corporations, but instead directly affect those they say they are trying to save from the evil big corps. Don't you stupid lefties understand the most basics of economics and taxation?  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #16)
