Metal

Black Sabbath, Judas Priest And Metallica Are 'Greatest H...

My Top Five: So... I think part of measuring greatness has to be influence so number one has to Black Sabbath because they really started it all. [for those who think it's Led Zeppelin: they're great, I love them, but they aren't metal. They are awesome classic hard rock. Sabbath cut out the mandolins and blues, made it heavier, and created METAL] Number two for me is definitely Judas Priest... they gave metal it's look of leather and studs. And who knew at the time it was all because Rob Halford is gay. [Hell Bent for Leather <3] Number three is Iron Maiden in my eyes... they made metal cool again when punk was taking over Britain. I love New Wave British Metal so much. Number four: Motley Crue for pioneering Glam Metal, which happens to be my favorite metal sub-genre. They made it metal to look like girls! Come on, that's influence! Number five is a tie. Guns 'n' Roses vs. Metallica... both drove away glam metal, when I will admit was it's time to go, in different ways. Guns 'n' Roses mixed sexuality and rage in a very raw and different way. They were sleezy and definitely not glamorous. Metallica kicked absolutely everything about glam metal to the curb and made metal evil again, for which I'm grateful. They wouldn't have been caught dead making a power ballad. haha Well, there's my opinion. =]  (Mar 14, 2009 | post #401)

Moshers Vs The Hardcore Kids.

Hardcore kids make me ill as well. I don't understand the appeal of guys who look like girls and girls who look like dykes and aren't... I personally do not mosh, due to an unfortunate and unpleasant incident, but I am on it's side. It's truly metal. Hardcore is emo and dumb. End of story.  (Mar 14, 2009 | post #299)
