List again to name 'deadbeat' parents

First, you go to the child support office and request a hearing for a modification. Try to start paying a little extra to get current. If You start paying regularly and still aren't allowed to see him, get the inlaws charged with contempt. Get a second job to get on your feet. (There is work out there no excuses about a bad economy)  (Jun 30, 2012 | post #142)

List again to name 'deadbeat' parents

Child support enforcement is nonexistent at worst and spotty are best. My wife and I have been dealing with them for 4 years now. They start out sending letters, threaten to suspend a lisense, finally issue a warrant... but refuse to serve it. I'm sick and tired of supporting a deadbeats kids for him. He knows however, that I will never let those kids go hungry or go without things they need or want. We have 1 of our own plus her 2 from a previous mistake (marriage). I work 60-70 hour weeks to make sure that they all have a good quality of life while this deadbeat piece of white trash can work under the table and play in his garage band! My wife is legally disabled, but gave up her disability and medical benefits to go back to work and help sustain their quality of life. We even made an offer to him. Sign over rights and let me adopt and make no future payments. Pay back payments at 100$ a month till its paid off and you have no responsibility at all. He agreed...till his mother threatened to kick him out of her basement. So we've taken matters in our own hands. He will no longer see the kids until he does his time(180 days for contempt) and starts making payments. I recommended this approach to anyone dealing with a child support agency that's as deadbeat as the parents its supposed to monitor. Oh, by the way, if you lose your job or suffer a loss of income they WILL give You a modification. Or someone could just get a second job and work 60-70 hour weeks like I do! There's no excuse for not paying your support! (BTW, the piece of s*#t in question is an electrician, not exactly a low income field)  (Jun 30, 2012 | post #141)

why white people so evil...

how in the hell does poverty make you fat? Please don't try to tell me that healthy food is too expensive. Obesity was never a problem during the great depression (when there really was true poverty).it only became a problem when people became too lazy to COOK and started buying processed foods, high in calories and low in nutrition. Raw ingredients are cheaper than processed food, but require time and work to prepare. Laziness is the main cause of obesity not poverty.  (Jun 28, 2012 | post #155)

crooked car lots

Sure that's the way it is! But the fact remains that Rocky's auto sales is run by crooked SOBs that KNOW they're selling you a piece of junk. A vehicle that starts smoking and running poorly as soon as you change the oil has had some type of additive ( stop leak or heavyweight oil) put in the engine to mask worn out rings. Sawdust can be added to a transmission to temporarily stop noise. This is the shit they do. And missing a coulpe of WEEKLY payments is not the same as missing a couple of months. I just figure that I'll give them some "publicity " for my trouble. For the record I've bought MANY cars from both buy here/pay here lots and regular dealers and NEVER had this type of problem before. The laws seem to protect the crooks instead of the consumers.  (Jun 26, 2012 | post #11)

crooked car lots

Beware of rocky's auto sales on Dixie highway! They will sell you a polished up pile of trash for a huge amount of money, then Sue you when it breaks down and you can't pay for it! (Since you need to have a running car to get to work) Miss a couple of payments and they'll repo the car, and then send you a letter saying that you have to pay the full balance on the note to get it back, not just catch up the overdue payments. Think about it; if you could pay the full amount you wouldn't be shopping at a low class dealer like rocky's! Just a public service announcement. Take this into account before you do business with these crooks!  (Jun 14, 2012 | post #1)

Dark skinned 7 11 store owners

I just wasted 30 minutes typing a reply so it could get accidentally erased. Oh well, short version: I meant visa holder, not naturalized citizen. There are a lot more than you would think who have held visas for years, and have no desire to become a full citizen. My problem is not with immigrants, it is with the business practices that seem to be common among foreign shop owners. I admit I'm a bit of a protectionist, especially when it comes to jobs in small towns across America. I also wont for any reason use the self-checkout lanes at Kroger because... they cost people jobs! Still, its enjoyable to debate with people whose opinions differ with mine, have a good night!  (Apr 7, 2012 | post #46)

Maybe some are legal citizens, but most I've talked too are legal immigrants. However, their immigration status isn't really the issue. The issue is the replacement of local employees with family members of the owners. While this is perfectly legal, its still not right. Everyone focuses on our NATIONAL economy, but far more important are the LOCAL economies of small town America. Yes, Walmart operates in other countries and sells American made goods overseas. Just like Target is owned by a French company. BUT... both employ local workers, stimulating the local economies of whatever town they're in. I always buy American made products such as cars, tools, motorcycles, etc. Of course, my TV, VCR(yes I still have one, don't laugh), microwave, and many other small items are foreign made. They were purchased from an American retailer though, so not only are the Japanese manufacturers benefited, so are the American retailers, and the local employees. Somehow I've gotten away from my original point. I'm referring to a SPECIFIC store, located in a town with pathetically high unemployment rates as it is. Now that rate just got a little higher. As I said I will spend my money at the station down the street that has LOCAL employees.  (Apr 7, 2012 | post #42)

If that were the rule it would be fine. But sadly they don't create jobs in the community. Mostly they will hire their own families to save money. This puts NO money back into the community where the buisness is located. As far as McDonald's and apple stores in foreign countries, those are franchises, locally owned and staffed. I know this because I have eaten at McDonald's on 3 different continents. (Yes, big Macs are the same all over! LOL) In fact a lot of countries have laws preventing foreigners from owning businesses or properties. (Mexico and Thailand for example)  (Apr 6, 2012 | post #37)

A group of Indians just took over the gulf station in west point on main St. Within 48 hours they have managed to get rid of all 4 employees. Not by firing them, but by cutting pay, making unreasonable demands and schedules. In other words they ran them off. The former manager had been there almost 20 years, another employee for 10! You can bet they wont be hiring anyone from West Point to replace them. It will be family members willing to work for long hours and little pay. I have seen all this before. This buisness will be a drain on the already struggling West Point economy. I will not spend another cent in that store for ANY reason! I would like to encourage as many other residents as possible to do the same. Take your business to the American owned locally operated Marathon down the street.  (Apr 6, 2012 | post #35)

Abortion Debate - West Point, KY

Pregnancy is an entirely preventable situation. Don't want to be pregnant? Use protection, or just don't have sex. There are exceptions, such as a rape, or a previously unknown health issue, but this is very uncommon. Most reasons given are financial (I just can't afford a baby), age (Im too young to be a mother), or "I just don't want kids". There are too many alternatives to justify any of these reasons. Financial: the taxpayers will pay for the medical care, food, and most other needs of the low income mother. Age: give it up for adoption and go on and live your life! Don't want kids: once again adoption, give a family that does want kids the chance. Abortion should only be permitted in extreme circumstances, NEVER as an abdication of responsibility, or as birth control. (Also, this is not a women's issue, this is a societal issue.)  (Mar 13, 2012 | post #1)

Drugs

A drug problem in a community the size of west point doesn't just affect "low-life welfare trash". It affects everyone! Higher crime rates, lower property values, higher taxes (to pay for increased police presence), unemployment, and yes, welfare dependence. Anyone can get hooked on this garbage, rich, poor, young, old, it doesn't discriminate. How many families would have been spared hardship if someone had "narced" . Now I'm not saying turn in your family and friends for smoking a little weed on Friday night, but a heavy drug addict is a danger to themselves and everyone around them. Your fight, clean up the town!  (Mar 13, 2012 | post #7)

Lisa Baker

"Dope smoking bitch, pill popping hoe". I wonder how many people in west point under the age of, say, 60, don't smoke dope or eat pills! Judging from what I see not many! She's already lost her job, stirred up family problems, had her reputation smeared in town, and not yet even been convicted of anything! If the individuals whose names she supposedly "dropped " did nothing wrong, they would have had nothing to worry about! If she's found guilty her punishment will far outweigh any of the people she supposedly "outed". I guess after all that anonymously calling her names on a public forum doesn't really matter after all.  (Mar 13, 2012 | post #3)
