Below is an example of how this false gospel of greed is robbing both God, as well as the poor. Christ said that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven. Here is an excerpt from the listed link. http://www.safegua rdyoursoul.com/htm l/joyce_meyer.html Is Joyce Meyer making “merchandise of you”? (see Bible text above) Joyce Meyer says: "You're on the brink of a miracle. Go to the phone and give $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 and $1,000,000; go to the phone. God has a miracle waiting on your response." / "The anointing is tangible; some of you should leave your televisions on TBN all night when you're asleep to get the anointing." / "This is inspiration, Oh! I heard you Holy Ghost! God is teaching you right now how to hear His voice. Go to your phone!" / "I believe that there are 10 people that need to match that $10,000. Your believing for the greatest miracle of your life, then sow the greatest seed of your life." / "You're not going to your phone; you can hear me while you're on the phone! Your miracle is waiting! Your deliverance is waiting!" / " Why are all these heretic hunters trying to get people to know God by criticizing people by name?" / " I won't get to the text until you get to the phone." (TBN, March 31, 2004) Joyce Meyer says: "God said, 'you can sow for whatever your soul lusteth after.' Sow $2,000 says the man of God." (TBN, April 6, 2003) Joyce Meyer says: "I just love to talk about your money. Let me be very clear. I want your money. I deserve it. This church deserves it." My opening post was deleted from this thread for some unknown reason. The op was present for over two years before it was removed. I gave credible information with links, in compliance with Topix guidelines. Below, I recovered part of the op from a quote found on page two. Melton wrote: God's Word commands us to expose false Apostles, Prophets and Teachers. I am aware that this subject will be uncomfortable to many, as it was to me when I became aware of it. We live one hour south of ST. Louis Missouri. Joyce Meyer Ministries is located in ST. Louis, and there is a repulsion and disgust for her extravagant lifestyle here. Joyce Meyer has been in trouble for violating federal tax exempt status laws. For any non for profit business or ministry to be classified as tax exempt, they must meet certain standards. There is a cap on the salaries of employees or ministers. There is also a limit to the amount of possession's the ministry can own. Joyce Meyer ministries as also been investigated for income tax evasion. They have battled with Jefferson County over this for quite some time. Joyce Meyer's attorneys advised her to sell some of their homes and reduce her salary in order to avoid prosecution. She shifted her money around in order to accomplish this. Below is an excerpt from the ST. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper. The ministry's board of trustees, which is headed by Joyce Meyer, agreed to pay her a $900,000 annual salary in 2002 and 2003. The board agreed to give her husband, Dave Meyer, the board's vice president, an annual salary of $450,000 in each of those same two years. The board agreed to provide the couple with free personal use of a corporate jet and luxury cars, a $2 million home where all bills are paid by the ministry and a separate $50,000-a-year housing allowance. The ministry paid $1.475 million to buy three houses for the three Meyer children. The board authorized Joyce and Dave Meyer to control a $790,000 fund to be used at their discretion for bonuses to "executive management." The job duties of seven employees of the ministry include sorting gifts "personally received" for Joyce and David Meyer, including cash and jewelry. http://www.trinity fi.org/press/Joyce Meyer6.ht ...  (Sep 18, 2010 | post #897)

Should women be Pastors, Elders or Evangelists?

Hello Sister, Here is a good link that explaines the translation of 1 Cor 11 on the issue of head coverings. http://www.plainly dressed.com/headco vering...mationfil e.html Excerpt from above link. If you study an exhaustive concordance (with both the Greek and Hebrew translation references in the back), you will understand that the original translations of Greek used two completely different words in those verses. "Cover" ("veil"? ASV, RSV of verse 6) in verses 6 and 7 translates "katakalupto " which means "cover, veil" and in the middle voice "cover oneself." The word occurs only here in the New Testament, but it is found several times in the Greek Old Testament. It is used in Genesis 38:15 of Tamar where it is said that she had "covered " her face. It can easily be seen from the preceding verse that she did not cover her face with her hair but with a veil. Similarly the word is used in three manuscripts in Esther 6:12 where it says that Haman hurried to his house in mourning with his head "covered. " Here again it is obvious that Haman had not grown his hair long to show his shame, but had thrown something over his head. Uncovered" ("unveiled "?ASV, RSV of verse 5) in verses 5 and 13 translates "akatakalupto s" which simply means "uncovered. " The words "cover" in verse 6 and "covering " in verse 15 translate from two entirely different Greek words. The noun translated covering in verse 15 is not "katakalupsis " or "katakalumma, " but peribolaion, which means "covering, wrap, cloak" and is described as being "an article of clothing something like a cloak or mantle." In Hebrews 1:12 (the only other place the word occurs in the New Testament), it is translated "mantle" or "vesture. " Now a peribolaion is a type of covering, but the fact that Paul uses an entirely different word shows that it is not the same type of covering as that discussed in the preceding verses. His point in verse 15 is that since nature gives woman one type of covering, she ought also to wear another type of covering while praying.  (Apr 20, 2009 | post #26)

I have done many threads, as well as postings about male television Evangelists. Go to my thread entitled, "Trinity Broadcasting Network" and read about Paul Crouch's homosexual affair and 425,000 dollars of hush money. Before you judge me falsly, read my postings. Modern day Christianity is rapidly falling into apostacy. Many Christians today do not believe in the authority of scripture. We must all ask ourselves, Do we really believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, or a work of fiction? The Bible is quite clear that women are not to hold a position of authority within the Christian Church. In spite of this, many churches still ordain women as Pastors, Elders, Deacons, Evangelists or Teachers. Many Christians support women ministers like Joyce Meyers, Paula White, Juanita Bynum, Jan Crouch ect. Not only are these women NOT called to the ministry, they are in open REBELLION against God, as well as his Word. In OT Israel the Levitical Priests, Rabbis, as well as members of the Sanhedrin were ONLY MEN. In the New Testament, the 12 Apostles were men. The above named female Tele Evangelists also serve the god of mammon (money). They live very lavish lifestyles funded from the donations of the poor, sick and elderly. It will be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for these very rich million-aire Television Evangelists to enter Heaven. Paula White wears tight, revealing, low cut clothing much of the time, is this how a modest, humble, Christian lady should dress? It is obvious that she is struggling with lust. God is called, the" Ancient of Days" within Scripture, he does not change with time and neither should we. He is the same God who gave the Law to Moses and revealed his light to us through Jesus Christ. He has instructed us to walk in the old paths. And Paul in the NT, instructs Christian women to look at Sarah and other women of old as examples. Modern day Christianity is a perversion of how it once was in the early Church. God has many children within spiritual Babylon (most, but not all churches), but he is calling his true bride to seperate herself from this corrupt system and into fellowship with him.  (Apr 18, 2009 | post #572)

Below is a link to a very good website that gives a detailed history of Christian head coverings throughout the ages. http://www.prayerc overings.com/artic les.php... Excerpt from site. When I first saw some Mennonite women with their head coverings, I couldn’t imagine why they were wearing those things on their heads. I figured it was simply some type of quaint costume. But then I read the writings of the early Christians. And then I understood why Mennonite and Amish women wear prayer veils or head coverings. I realized that it was in obedience to 1 Corinthians 11:5, which says,“Every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved.” The early Christian women veiled their heads not only in church, but also anytime they were in public. From my later study of church history, I discovered that Christian women continued to maintain this practice through the all centuries up to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. During the nineteenth century, many Christians in the United States and western Europe began arguing that long hair constituted the only covering women needed. Others said that women only needed to wear a covering when in church. The middle class and wealthy women switched from veils and caps to ornate bonnets—if they wore a covering at all. Bonnets became more a matter of fashion than of modesty or obedience to 1 Corinthians 11. By the turn of the twentieth century, the ornate bonnets of the nineteenth century had given way to ladies’ hats. Until the mid-century, women in Europe and America typically wore a hat or scarf in public, but they were simply following tradition and fashion—without realizing that there was originally a spiritual reason behind the practice. Similarly, until about 1960, western women wore hats when in church. But the meaning behind the hat was lost. Today, Christian women in eastern churches still cover their heads in church. Some of them cover their heads all of the time. In the west, some Plymouth Brethren women still wear the prayer veil in church, as do many black women. But usually these sisters do not wear a head covering at other times.  (Apr 18, 2009 | post #569)

A WOMAN IS NOT PERMITTED TO TEACH OR HAVE AUTHORITY OVER A MAN, BUT TO BE IN SILENCE. (NKJV) 1 Timothy 2:9 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10 but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. 11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. VERSE 34 STATES, AS ALSO SAITH THE LAW. TAKE SPECIAL NOTICE OF THIS REFERENCE. 1Cor 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 1Cor 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Peter 3:3 Do not let your adornment be [merely] outward -- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on [fine] apparel -- 4 rather [let it be] the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible [beauty] of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror. A WOMAN IS TO WEAR A HEAD COVERING WHEN PRAYING OR PROPHESYING WITHIN THE CHURCH. THE GREEK REFERS TO A PIECE OF CLOTH UPON HER HEAD. THIS IS NOT A REFERENCE TO HER HAIR. 1 Cor 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman [is] man, and the head of Christ [is] God. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head covered, dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with [her] head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved. 6 For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered. 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man is not from woman, but woman from man. 9 Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. 10 For this reason the woman ought to have [a symbol of] authority on [her] head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, neither [is] man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. 12 For as woman [came] from man, even so man also [comes] through woman; but all things are from God. 13 Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? 15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for [her] hair is given to her for a covering. TAKE NOTICE THAT A BISHOP (ELDER), IS A MAN, AS WELL AS THE HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE. 1Timothy 3:1 This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 1Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 2 Cor 6:17 Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you."  (Apr 18, 2009 | post #568)

Trinity Broadcasting Network

Hello Sister! It is always nice to hear from you. I also was ensared into TBN, Benny Hinn, ect. I understand how hard it is to accept the truth about this end time apostacy. Satan very closly counterfits the gifts of God's Spirit. That is why we must test the Spirit behind ministries. Divine healing and deliverance is real, but there are the fakes out there as well. The Pentecostal and Full Gospel churches used to teach that riches were a snare to most, as well as teach sanctification (set apart lifestyle). Many still do, but they are fewer and fewer. God Bless you also! Kim sends her love as well!  (Apr 6, 2009 | post #13)
