Arrest in brutal dog attack on Staten Island man

Well that's mature. Though I agree that owners that breed FIGHTING dogs should be punished, I do not think ALL pit bulls and owners **** . My b/f had a red nosed pit bull, dog NEVER bit anyone! he was an out door dog, not allowed inside, but he interacted with the family and friends. He was a MUSH! would run upto you look at you and laydown and want his belly rubbed. He was put down because he had cancer and it still kills me. He was an AMAZING dog. Friends of mine have a blue pitbull, he is HUGE, but a lover, plays with their 3 yr old son, he got out once and the neighbors were scared, but when he trotted over and started rolling on their grass they brought him in and didn't want to give him back. so let's not accuse ALL pit bulls and their owners and sentence them because you have some trash that gets off on dog fights that raise them this way.  (Jul 2, 2008 | post #47)

Miley posed, but the adults should be ashamed

I'm not too fond of the picture itself, I think she looks physically sick... as for my OPINION... I might get a little hypocritical.. so bare with me: granted she's 15, doing a "topless " shoot, she is covered. what about the parents that take their kids to sears and have them in just a diaper, or bare naked taking holiday pictures then send them out to their friends and family who then put them on display in their house, causing their friends and family to now see your 2 month old childs bare a-s-s. Wow, she's a "celebrity " there's all this talk? 15 year olds are confused, weather or not there's someone telling them to do or not do something, she's trying to be sexy and grown up, she's confused, it's natural. I just think that the human body is beautiful, no matter what your age is. If A.L picked some random 15 year old would there be all this talk? it just gets me. on a different note, I really like what Joye Brown said about Miley/Hanna being a FICTIONAL role model, same with brittany spears, christina, angelina, etc. they are FICTIONAL. We do not see them behind closed doors, in public they ACT. a role model should be a teacher, a parent, family member, etc. growing up, and even today... my "hero" is my old dance teacher, she made me who i am and i will forever be thankful, she's not some celebrity, she's not well known but I know her. ok, that is all. let the arguements begin.  (Apr 29, 2008 | post #92)

Long Island police probe death of suspect while in custody

regardless of the fact that he sold drugs, that doesn't mean that you should insult his mother or other family members, they are in mourning, show them some respect. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.  (Apr 14, 2008 | post #16)

Pedestrian shot in North Babylon

hate to correct everyone, but that is north babylon (SD) over there, i went to north babylon hs, that's where a lot of my classmates live. it's the border of north babylon, wyandanch and west babylon. Not for nothing, but who knows if this person was being shot at or someone was just trying to scare a passerby. it's horrible and i hope they find who shot him.  (Mar 21, 2008 | post #11)

Cops investigate man parked near Dix Hills middle school

so let me get this straight? a man moved into an area, sat in his car to smoke a cig is now being harassed because why? Makes no sense.. he's now going to sue the county for harassment.. understandably. I mean there's a bus stop on almost every corner! they're basically saying that he can't sit in his car! I live down the street from a middle school, my house is the first on the block, and my fiance and I sit in the car and smoke cigs when it's raining cause we can't smoke inside... so now i have to be worried that a neighbor is going to call police? this is just dumb!  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #60)

LIE accidents at Exits 58 and 61

"A Suffolk Highway Patrol unit spotted the woman driving the wrong way in the high-occupancy vehicle lane just before 10 a.m. Monday, police said. The officer then gave chase -- paralleling her car with his cruiser, which was headed eastbound on the eastbound side of the road." I don't understand how she was headed eastbound on the eastbound side of the road... but considered going the wrong way... nice job newsday.. i'm guessing ANOTHER typo!  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #43)

Report says victim had yelled at tiger

I'm sorry, I'm slightly confused, Everyone is going on and on about how they got what they deserved? I think what was done to these men and to **** isn't in anyway justice. A young mans life was taken away for yelling and waving his arms at a tiger? Granted they were under the influence, but still... So if I were to go "oo aa" at a monkey in a cage, it should be able to open the cage and bite me? I don't know if that's getting my point across, but I mean, people do this all the time, especially young children, I mean they go to a zoo, see the tigers far away, ignoring them (people tend to think that zoo animals should perform like circus animals), a child is going to yell "hey tiger, over here" and wave their arms, so because these men were older and drunk, that makes it ok for the tiger to climb out and kill one of them? First off, the tiger doesn't speak english or any other language, so whatever they were yelling wouldn't make any difference. The people at fault are the inspectors that ok'd this exibit, they should have taken every precaution possible to prevent **** from getting out and reaching the public. A net or glass that extended partly over the exibit could have prevented this.  (Jan 18, 2008 | post #43)

'Cloverfield'

Was it worse than 'I Am Legend?'.. because I just saw that on Sunday and I wanted to scream! that movie actually had potential, (and I hate to say it, but Will Smith did a great job).. but it was just so drab... You think you're going to see action and horror but instead you see a guy talking to dolls, driving cars, and cooking, I could have stayed home and saved $40.00! Is Cloverfield like that or is it more action packed? And whoever made the ref to 'LOST'... as soon as I saw the preview the first thing I thought was "there's going to be clues for 'LOST'"... but I don't think that's true anymore. and as for how the monster got into the city, i'm saying the same way those annoying tourist get there. Click their heels 3 times saying "i wish i could destroy NYC, i wish i could destroy NYC, i wish i could destroy NYC" and next thing they know they're walking around the city causing problems.  (Jan 18, 2008 | post #8)
