Car pulled from Northwestside pond

I thought it was "retention " not "detention " OR are there both? Someone please explain.  (Mar 19, 2008 | post #57)

Officer kills armed motorist in struggle

I was thinking the same thing...who in the heck knows "several " people that were murdered...around here? Also...anyone with ANY common sense knows that you keep your hands visable at all times, you don't reach for anything except your license and registration and that is either before the officer walks up or when told to do so.  (Mar 7, 2008 | post #490)

Officer kills armed motorist in struggle

They aren't punishing him...it is the law. Any police officer that rightfully shoots someone, would want this done anyway. Clears up the rumors and the "bad cop" stories. There is always an internal investigation after a shooting/killing.  (Mar 7, 2008 | post #489)

Probe continues in police shooting

Okay...I am going to reply before I read all of the other posts....so I am sure that I will have many backers here. Are you F***ing stupid? Sorry for the profanity, but being a police officer's wife....I take serious offense to your comments. If you really think that in a struggle, someone could shoot a hand and make him drop the gun, you really aren't all that bright...and have obviously never shot a gun. It really doesn't matter what version of the story is correct, the Columbus Republic (which I highly doubt anyone from that paper was there) or the Indy Star. What matters is a man who was pulled over for a traffic violation is now dead....and the only place the blame lies is with him. All that he had to do was be calm and do as the officers asked ...and he could have been on his way...with a ticket. Anyone who pulls a gun on a police officer is at risk of dying. Throughout their whole career, not many officers shoot and kill someone...even though it is their job, it is still traumatic and it will effect this officer for years to come. My prayers are with him and his family....and with the family of the man who was killed. No matter the cirmcumstances, let's not forget that he was someone's son, brother, uncle, father, etc....I am sure that there are people mourning for him, too. Thank you to all of you who put your life on the line to protect us :)  (Mar 3, 2008 | post #75)

2 killed, 1 hurt in Johnson Co. crash

actually, in some states there are restrictions on newly licensed driver's. Not sure the exact restrictions, but I am thinking until they are 18, there are some rules.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #102)

HSE board calls emergency meeting

I completely agree with you. It has never been proven (at least to us) that it was a "company party" paid for by company funds. If that was the case, I am all for her being terminated. But I really don't see the problem with her hosting a Christmas Party at her house, inviting some people from the school and serving alcohol. There is nothing wrong or illegal about that. I am confused and concerned about the whole shadiness of the situation.  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #146)

Accidental smothering came a day before rehab

Ummm...was that the fire story in Germany? Are you kidding me? If it was...first of all...many people died in that fire, including one of their other children. Secondly, it was the baby's uncle who dropped the baby...while the parents were screaming not to...however, it was a decision made while trying to save the baby's life. He was dropped into the arms of a police officer and is alive. How can you even compare? AND...if this is not the story you were referring to...please, do tell....I am interested in reading it:) And....my apologies!  (Feb 8, 2008 | post #307)

First of all, if pro athletes are more of a role model to your children than his/her principal...you have more issues than you think. Secondly, when comparing a mistake that a child makes to the mistake that this man made...you are way off base...not even comparable! These children have not chosen a career path that lead them to be in the position that he was in. You know...he made a mistake by drinking and driving....but what made it even worse was the way her reacted, the way he tried to get out of it...and not accept responsibility for his actions. All of that combined, a role model...he is not.  (Feb 7, 2008 | post #275)

That may have been the best post you have ever had. Without all of your dashes ----- and exclamation points!!! it was actually able to be read and comprehended... Congratulations!  (Feb 7, 2008 | post #267)
