Why UK lost to SC

Big deal so they have 1 loss. Anyone who honetly expected a perfect season after the last several years we've had was just dreaming but that doesn't mean their not good or still can't go all the way. The only rank that matters is the final one after the championship is over. And even then your record DOESN'T matter.  (Jan 27, 2010 | post #6)

Are they going to call school off

Still quite a lot for here.  (Jan 27, 2010 | post #8)

Blizzard Coming!

http://www.weather .com/weather/alert s/localalerts/4048 4?phenomena=TSL &significance= S&areaid=KYZ06 7&office=KLMK &etn=1494872b7 2b6c5902fbedc3d388 9c3ac76d2d16e They have already lowered the snow totals. Last night it said possible 5-9 inches for south central KY, and its not 3-6. But that is still pretty rough for these areas.  (Jan 27, 2010 | post #19)

The Four words you say after Obama

I know some would disagree but I'm very glad at how Bush at least stood up for us after the 9/11 attacks. Some Presidents would/could have easily just stuck to the "rebuild and move on" approach, built a memorial, condemned the actions in a speech, and asked people to remember those lost... Yeah that is all nice and all but I like to know that our country's leader will stand up for us if pushed. I'm not certain Obama would have handled it well if he had been President when 9/11 occurred. I don't think America should police the world but as one of the major powers we do hold a lot of the responsibility in it and I would be disgraced to sit by and watch our leader not do anything but tell the terrorist what they did was bad...  (Jan 21, 2010 | post #169)

The Four words you say after Obama

So if the police pull you over do you shout to them that you have a gun? Umm no. Even if that was his intentions you tell you enemy that, not the 'cops' when the UN are beating at your door asking to be let in to see for themselves. Of course, we're still assuming that there aren't any still hidden somewhere and nobody would really even know except the scientist who helped make it. Iran is welcome to take a stab at it if they go about it right and follow the same rules all the other nuclear powers do. Nuclear power is the future, but everyone just has to play nice with it and can't be "pretending " to have WMDs as you imply happened. Of course Bush is likely to turn up if you google that. Every pot smoking hippy has blogged about how he was the worst ever so naturally there will be a million hits on the topic. Add to that the fact that almost every media source is liberal and the internet is just full of anti-conservative thoughts. Obama could stand in front of a conference and claim that he hates jews and the media (especially online) would play it off as not serious and brush it under the rug. If Obama had been a Republican and handed out all those bailouts the people would have rioted and burned the capitol down. The media can spin things the way they want to. I'm not saying Bush was the best president, or even good, but he at least stood up for us after 9/11 and didn't back down until those people got a little justice. Until Obama shows that he could do the same after such events then he will just be another democrat that wants all these reforms that they can't pay for.  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #89)

republican party sore ass losers

Dude, just hush already. I'm sorry but if you don't know which party supports abortions (from your very first post) and which party doesn't then you need to study up before you try to 'school' people on politics. That is a pretty major issue to be confused on. And if everyone wants to be honest neither Bush OR Obama is to blame for the economy. Even as president they have limited control. They can't make the laws. They can't buy the products. They can't force people to spend money. Its the people who do these things and it ultimately it will be up to the people to bring us out of the recession and turn things around. A president can sing or not sign any bills they want to but it still doesn't change the fact that its the average Joe working and spending his money that keeps things turning. Provided that requires him to actually WORK but thats a whole other topic...  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #57)

Electric Bill

I've got Blue Grass Eneregy and mine was exactly the same as last month. The electric companies have monopoly in their zones so they are prohibited from raising their prices with applying to the state government to allow the increases. They have applied but it hasn't been accepted yet so nobody's should have gone up yet. Which means that you all need to invest in some insulation or something because you are losing ALOT of heat and energy that your systems are having to work double time to replace.  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #12)

Just reporting the truth and nothing but the truth

Typical stereotype of prison inmates. I know a guy that worked at a max security prison and he said the inmates don't give a crap about anyone else in there, they just want out. They don't even hate on child molesters like everyone likes to think. Its just a myth to make all of us feel better thinking they are being punished more. In there, its just them vs the courts and their looking for a way out. If this story were true I'd think it would be all over the news sites by now, especially the registers. If the 'victim' has remembered her story finally and its the truth then good for her. I hope they get charged. But after all this time and not allowing a rape test that night at the hospital there are very many holes in her story.  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #2)

The Four words you say after Obama

He bailed out failing companies... multiple times. He's proposed a government ran health care system that would put these same politicians everyone seems to hate on in direct control of your medical needs. The magical money tree for which is not likely to be dropping cash anytime soon to pay for it either. He has told all women to not worry about breast cancer which shows just how much he is aware of public health concerns. His response time to the during the ice storm and flooded counties of KY was just abysmal. Funny how the same people who bitched about Katrina said nothing about it though. That 'useless' war dethroned a tyrant who would not listen to the global community (not just the US), tortured his own people, refused helping stop the terrorist, and threatened nuclear armament. Perhaps we should have sent him some nice flowers and asked him politely not to kill anyone else? And not elected? Clearly you need to read up on how the electoral college works. I don't necessarily agree with that system but its what we use. Google it. So yeah, clearly he is so much better... *sarcasm*  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #87)

Lincoln widow sues muzzleloader manufacturer

would not enter a home with a loaded weapon and then bump it around on furniture while still loaded and with a firing cap still on it. And yes, check the papers that come along with purchasing a gun (you know, all those papers you threw away when you got yours) and there will be warranty and liability statements in there. Even 8 year olds who take hunters safety courses know better than to leave a weapon loaded and the number one rule is never point a weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot even if you think its unloaded.  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #64)

The Four words you say after Obama

Even if Obama was a master of finance (which he is not) and could make the economy do a 180 and improve, there is still no way in hell I will ever support someone who will not stand up for his own (debatable) country. Time and time again he has bowed down and kissed the asses of foreign leaders. Its one thing to be respectful but its completely different to be a sellout. If their not showing you that same respect you shouldn't lower yourself either. This is still the United States and we aren't dead yet. I don't think its to much to ask for the leader of the country to show a little backbone in the face of foreign scrutiny. I'm glad he has at least decided not to jerk out all the troops and leave the war zones to the scavengers but I'm afraid that was more to gain some popularity than true intentions. And declaring such a solid time line before withdraw is just a clear sign to the rebels that they can hold out and wait.  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #82)

Got 2 more families reported today

Actually this is wrong, or at least undocumented as far as I can find. The bill that was shot down was to give local authorities the right to decide on speed bumps in their own zones, instead of the state. This does not imply they are legal/illegal, only that it is currently up to the state to decide. This means if the state wants them to be illegal then there must be a law claiming that they are. Well Kentucky has all their laws online so if one exist it should be able to be found. I've tried multiple times to find it since all this bickering started just to know if they were truly illegal and have NEVER been able to find the law claiming this. I've asked for others to assist by showing the code making them illegal and nobody has ever been able to. I think that what makes people think they are illegal is simply because they are not currently in the highway transportation handbook (forget the official name). It lists methods of slowing traffic and speed bumps are not listed. But unless something is stated as illegal then it is legal. That is the way our system works. If anyone knows the statute that says their illegal please post a link to prove it.  (Jan 15, 2010 | post #14)
