The trouble with judging a book by its cover
Did they? When I attempt to search the Star's archives, I only see two results, both from March 14. In addition, the Star is chastised by Eye on Indianapolis for not covering the story locally. Let's face it, the Star just isn't getting it done. http://eyeonindian apolis.blogspot.co m/2008/03/indianap olis-star-has-fail ed-again.html (Mar 14, 2008 | post #8)
Source: Players support Sampson
"Asked if the players would actually not play with games left in the season, Heiar said, "As stubborn as some of them are, I'm sure they won't." A little more vague, please. They won't play the games, or they won't not play the games? (Feb 22, 2008 | post #1)
If you ask me, Dungy's moving on
Bob Kravitz said: "I mentioned there were times when I thought my job was nothing more than an exercise in prolonged adolescence, and the time would come when I would do something more constructive and meaningful with my life. (As you may have noticed, that never happened.)" It's not too late, Bob. Please, find something else to do with your life. (Jan 11, 2008 | post #66)
Angie's List throws book at rival
Why would you think you would get the advantages of member advocacy if you weren't a member? I'm not sure why people in this discussion have such a problem with AL. If you blindly go off of any company who uses their logo, you might have problems. However, if you actually read the reviews posted, you can get a pretty good idea of what kind of work the company will do. I've found several local businesses I would not have otherwise called b/c of the list and received good service as a result. I've written positive and negative reviews, but all are honest and attempting to guide future customers. I'm at a bit of a loss to understand the animosity here. (Dec 27, 2007 | post #71)
Angie's List throws book at rival
It absolutely makes you dishonest. It is a clear violation of AL guidelines to falsify reports to enhance your own business's reputation. AL approved the review b/c it appeared legitimate and they rely somewhat on people's honesty to keep the reports genuine. That they eventually caught and removed your fraudulent review is a credit to them, not a disservice, as you imply. (Dec 27, 2007 | post #69)
Lilly shifting work to outsiders
I think many people here could stand to educate themselves on this issue. "The World is Flat" is an excellent overview of the discussion. http://www.amazon. com/World-Flat-His tory-Twenty-first- Century/dp/0312425 074/ref=pd_bbs_sr_ 1?ie=UTF8&s=bo oks&qid=119705 9599&sr=8-1 (Dec 7, 2007 | post #113)
Bob Kravitz's Colts report card
For me, that's the whole problem. Even when I agree with him, I typically find his column to be the very opposite of thought-provoking or stimulating. Kravitz just very rarely writes anything beyond the obvious. Why do I read him? I'm a Colts junkie and he's the only local columnist. I'd give anything to have a local columnist worth reading, but I don't see that happening here anytime soon. (Oct 25, 2007 | post #45)

Phil, This is a great idea for an article. However, unless you're quoting the players, please don't write like Stuart Scott speaks. It's not edgy, it's not interesting, and it's not cool. It's lazy and pretentious. (Sep 23, 2007 | post #53)
Dylan, Costello to rock IU homecoming
Elvis isn't too shabby, either and if you've ever seen Amos Lee you know this show is going to be special. (Aug 30, 2007 | post #14)
My thoughts exactly. It seemed like he thought the line was just too good not to use, even though it made no sense. I'm starved for decent commentary on the Indy scene, so I usually end up reading Kravitz's column, even though I invariably find it to be frustratingly void of any worthwhile thoughts. Most of the time it's just bland tripe not worth the time it takes to read. (Aug 23, 2007 | post #24)
Kravitz: Vick mess overshadows action in the Dome
You obviously don't read his column much. He's not exactly reinventing sports commentary with his efforts at the Star. (Aug 21, 2007 | post #50)
I have AT&T U-Verse, and it's been a terrific experience so far. I'm also thrilled that they took care of me with the BTN, as I hear it's being added to their basic channel package. I think it's a bad deal for most, but like a poster above said, ESPNU has been holding fans hostage with games like IU-Purdue for a while now. Why shouldn't the schools get the money? An added benefit: fewer games listening to Dick Vitale scream at me. (Aug 17, 2007 | post #41)
There's a real movement away from wheeled bags for experienced travelers. Wheeled bags are heavy, hold less, and don't roll well outside of the airport. A maximum carry-on size duffel bag allows you to travel light and avoid checking baggage. No lost luggage or waiting for bags that might not arrive for me! I prefer the Aeronaut from Tom Bihn, http://www.tombihn .com/page/001/PROD /500/TB0906. Expensive? Yeah, but as the article says, you get what you pay for. (Aug 16, 2007 | post #1)
