Benefits for Gay Couples Start in N.J.

Since you are so concerned with "natural " in the case of child birth, does that mean you are also against using machines to keep people alive? this includes the most extreme cases to the pace maker. If you are also against those "unnatural " methods than I will accept your opinion (not agree, but accept) If you cannot honestly say you are against those then you must rethink your opinion.  (Mar 17, 2007 | post #1159)

Benefits for Gay Couples Start in N.J.

I am a hetero Male, married 16yrs, 2 wonderful kids. I don't know if being homosexual is a choice or not (I do not think it is a choice). But even if it is, SO WHAT, it is the individuals right to make that choice. All these people who would have homosexuals scamper back into the closet, think about this. You have a duaghter, she is living most little girls dreams and grows up, marries her true love and starts her own family, then one day her husband comes home and says "guess what, I am gay, I have been living a lie because of all the bigoted close-minded people that forced me to hide my true self". Is that what you all prefer? Let them have civil-unions (marriage to me is religious in nature and that would have to be addressed with the church)give them all the same rights as hetero couples, I really don't understand why people are against it. On a personal note seeing 2 men kissing each other makes me want to throw up, but I am not going to tell them they don't have the right to do it. (being a typical male seeing 2 beautiful women kissing gives me the exact opposite feeling, what is opposite of throwing up?) ;)  (Mar 14, 2007 | post #1120)

Seeking Others to Protest with in New Jersey(Illegal Immi...

If your ancestors would have stood up and fought for the land you would still be thriving. That is what the "new" Americans are trying to do now, stand up and fight for the land that our ancestors stood up and fought for, yoou cannot re-write history all you can do is either learn from it or repeat it, hopefully the politicians have learned from it or in 200 years my great, great, great grandchildren will sound as stupid as you do now, yelling about something that should have never happened.  (Mar 12, 2007 | post #2029)

I have a job, have had the same one for 18 years. Why do you keep hiding under different names?  (Mar 6, 2007 | post #2024)

I think/thought that "marriage " was a religion/church sanctioned event? If it is then same sex marriage is a fantasy. However the government should recognize a civil union between same or opposite sex and the laws should apply across the board, it should be treated the same for all "persuasions " anyone opposed to such a thing is extremely closed minded. I am not homosexual and really don't understand how/why people are that way, I do believe that there is NO way that it could be a choice, why would anyone choose to be subjected to the bigotry and hate that is spewed out of some peoples mouths? A legal U.S. citizen is entitled to all the protections and rights afforded in the constitution.  (Mar 5, 2007 | post #267)

They are NOT taking jobs that no one else wants, ask any construction person (not the contractors) You had to pay $20+/hour for a concrete finisher, now the contractors go get a couple mexicans for almost nothing to do the job, its not that people don't want the jobs its that the contractors don't want to pay for the qualified labor anymore. Keep parroting what you hear instead of formulating your own ideas, you should really learn to think before you speak/type. Back up your statement, what job are they doing that no one else wants? Check labor stats and salaries, you will see that Americans used to do those jobs. Just like all the call centers moving to India. Is outsourcing being done because Americans no longer want to do the work, NO, all these jobs being lost (through outsourcing and immigrant labor) are being lost because of greed, either by the CEO of the big corporation wanting his 7 figure bonus or the small contractor wanting a larger profit margin.  (Mar 5, 2007 | post #2016)

Well guess what, the europeans came here and took the land. Now the American people (or whatever label you want) are trying to keep the ILLEGAL immigrants from doing the same thing to us now. Don't try to blame the naivity of the american indians on those that took advantage of it. They lost, its time to get over it, your ancestors were slaves, its time to move on and try to make the most of your life. You can't erase the past, learn from it. Foreigners came from europe to America and took it from the indians. Now foreigners are coming from south america, do we lay down and lose like the indians or do we try to learn from history and stop the onslaught?  (Mar 4, 2007 | post #2010)

11 nabbed in effort to deter underage drinking

Spoken like someone who never has been through town, well not in the last 7-10 years anyway. Notice most of the arrests were from other towns? The twsp. finally gets some press for doing something good, something that should be done in EVERY town across the country and someone has to put it down. Typical, why try to see the good.  (Feb 27, 2007 | post #4)

Willingboro Teachers are being threatened, nothing is bei...

If you are depending on the BCT to help you are in for a LONG wait. The teachers need to carry cell phones with the police on speed dial, any threat/weapon needs to be reported, once the parents of the little savages get upset because "my sweet little son/daughter would never do that" then the paper will look into it and the teachers will have a chance to be heard.  (Feb 13, 2007 | post #3)

New Jersey property tax cut would average $1,051

I think you may be misreading the article(at least I hope you are and I am not) The article is just averaging the town for demonstration. If you make less than $99,999 and paid $6000 in property taxes you should get $1200 reduction(20%), while your less fortunate neighbor who makes over $100,001 and paid $6000 in taxes will get less (I don't know the exact %, but I have seen it printed)  (Feb 13, 2007 | post #2)

Watchcase

There was a meeting last week at the american legion, the developers were there. Hovnanian (sp?) said they probably won't start anything with the old mill site for at least a year, they said it was a matter of the bottom dropping out of the real estate market and the recent turmoil in town. They also are still removing a few of the homes still standing on that block. They also own branngans/woodshed , and the ols first union bank (the original fire house in riverside) they will be restoring that building and trying to make it a retail building (possibly 4 stores). The watchcase building is still "in the works" The developer for that site (I don't recall his name) is looking to put in baseball/football fields and single family/townhomes/c ondos, but gave no timetable for work. The watchcase itself cannot be torn down because it is a registered landmark. There were a couple members of the township committee there, they played the "politician " very well and a lot of words fell out of their mouths with no real meaning.  (Jan 15, 2007 | post #2)

Gangs On The Rise In Suburban New Jersey

I have no problem with locking them up for a VERY long time, and definitely they have to be made to work and work hard, no "laundry room" crap, let them pick the veggies out in the farm fields and do the construction that the illegals are coming in the USA to do...you know, the jobs that all the supporters of the illegals say American's don't want. I think that is the way to go...really take care of 2 problems, or maybe 3 at once. Get the criminals off the street, make them earn their 3 meals a day AND rempve an excuse for the supporters of the illegals.  (Jan 8, 2007 | post #6)
