You're right it was neglected. I know I have to be careful so I don't get hammered with returns. We billed in the pallets of Jays chips while on sale so I will be selling them pretty much through the summer at 2/$5. That is the price Frito has also. Too bad you can't do that in Fla. Do you guys even sell Jays down there? When on sale here we compete evenly with Lays.  (May 23, 2013 | post #3630)

I'm not management, I'm telling you I now have $10,000 in my business account which stood at zero when I started last month. I have quite a few independent grocery stores that are cash. We did some case buy ins of Jays chips in the Independents that helped the bottom line. I don't expect that every month but I'm very happy about the first month. I'm just saying this actually seems like a good gig so far.  (May 23, 2013 | post #3628)

Well guys I took the plunge. I'm on a service contract with S-L and will be buying the route soon. I made $10,000 profit the first month. It paid off my truck and then some. I'm pretty happy about that. Lance Crackers sell like crazy in WalMart up here in Michigan. We were also just awarded space for Jays chips which are really picking up. I've hired a part timer also so that helps me really focus on keeping items in stock. I spoke to some of the other guys at the new software meeting and most of us think the ordering-payment process we currently have works best. I've had to pay a couple of weeks, $402 and $600 but when the weather broke I received $1900 and $700 from S-L. I have a lot of independent cash stops also. If we were to switch to being paid off of the invoices S-L would require a weekly audit of inventory which would take up a bunch of time. This forum can be very helpful for us as IO's. we can keep each other informed on what we are being told by our dms. Finally got those $1.50 extra full coupons today! Hope it helps. Haha.  (May 22, 2013 | post #3615)

Hello all...I've just retired from a company owned bread route that I ran for 20 yrs. I'm bored at home and have been offered a S-L route by a dm I know from the bread days. He says the weekly rte average is $5600 and is weekends off. How much do you think net take home would be? What do you guys pay for business insurance and truck insurance. Thanks for the help!  (Mar 19, 2013 | post #3202)
