Gay Marriage - Girardville, PA

@GJM I agree to call it something other than marriage. 'Perversion' sounds about right.  (Oct 14, 2010 | post #4)

Gay Marriage - Girardville, PA

Sodomy (the sin committed by homosexuals) is a crime against nature. Calling it "marriage " is insulting to real married couples and to Jesus Christ who made marriage a Sacrament. Marriage is for having children which Sodomite activity can't produce. Therefore, it's not marriage and must be opposed.  (Jul 29, 2010 | post #1)

Centralia's last 9 residents fight eviction

Having visited Centralia myself recently, I agree 100% that the mine fire is a ruse to destroy the town and take over the rights to the valuable coal beneath it. If it were really as dangerous as the government claims, something would have happened already to the residents and/or visitors to the town. If it were so dangerous, why let people drive through the town? I'd personally consider obtaining property in the borough to help its fight to stay on the map.  (Jun 11, 2010 | post #4)

Sexy Pirate Statue Angers Townspeople

The antique store owner should be ashamed to have such a statue on front of their business. If anyone says that this isn't about using sex appeal to draw people into the store, their either lying or an idiot. Someone should buy the stinking statue and destroy it so we don't have to keep hearing about it.  (May 8, 2009 | post #4)

Families scramble for new schools

Sorry, that last post went out too soon. In what way are their social skills behind? Also, what do you mean by the 'real world'?  (Dec 31, 2008 | post #14)

Families scramble for new schools

That's why homeschooling (and private schooling)is so important. The more people in an area who are not using the tax-funded schooling and are being forced (under threat of losing their homes) to pay for it, the more pressure there will be to reduce the size of the public school system to the point where it could be eliminated in an area.  (Dec 31, 2008 | post #11)

Families scramble for new schools

It would be great if Pennsylvania's constitution didn't specifically provide for a public school system. It would make it a lot easier to get rid of such a parasitic system of abuse, corruption, and indoctrination.  (Dec 27, 2008 | post #9)

I like that idea. That would help to reduce the rediculous school tax on property. :) For what they tax for schools on the average home, I could buy at least one (maybe two) brand new laptops, school supplies for a year (stationary, pencils, pens, art supplies, books, etc.), field trip money, and a few other things. My children would receive a complete education.  (Dec 26, 2008 | post #6)

It's amazing, but I can't say I'm very surprised. Homeschooled children routinely display a much higher level of knowledge and understanding across a variety of subjects than their counterparts in the regular school system.  (Dec 25, 2008 | post #4)

What Would Improve the Quality of Life in Schuylkill County

Apparently, my last response didn't post so here I go again. I'm sorry I've taken so long to reply to you here. I'm glad we agree that abstinence is the best choice for unmarried people. What I disagree with is treating contraception as a viable alternative to abstinence. The reason is that it encourages people to engage in behavior that isn't proper by giving a false sense of security (be it from pregnancy, disease, etc.). Despite what many claim, contraceptives fail A LOT (far more than abstinence). By making this available, there will be a lot more "children having children" as you put it.  (Dec 25, 2008 | post #5)
