Cheer up New Denture Wearers

Hi C-Dub, I think it means he is going to correct or alter the way you bite now. It seems like you have the same outlook on this that I did. I think you will have a fast recovery and adjust well because you have a great outlook on this. Keep going back for adjustments until they are comfortable. The gums shrink faster than you think! Can't wait to get my perms though :)  (Jun 28, 2012 | post #3629)

Son with partial in now worried about dating and kissing

It is only as devastating as he lets it be. I know this will be a strange conversation to have with your son, you can tell him to change his kissing style to very gentle and go with what he feels comfortable with. If he keeps his partial clean and it fits right there should be no problem. If things seem to be going long term he could tell her when he feels more confident. I'm still new to this myself and I am figuring out my own comfort level of how and when I bring it up. I don't fear losing friends over it but I want a potential romantic friend to get to know me as a person before I tell him about my dental history but I feel the same way about telling to much personal information period until I get to know him and know he is not judgmental.  (Jun 28, 2012 | post #3)

Dating and dentures

Hi Shelly, I'm 39 and have a full top denture, 15 teeth extracted last month. I'm single and dating, if a guy has an issue with me having a dental device ( that's what I call it ) then I have a problem spending time with that person. I only mentioned it because I knew a kiss was coming and it went fine, better than I expected. You should get out there and date for sure.  (Jun 20, 2012 | post #109)
