When I was a kid, what I remember about winter was it was cold and snowy, and we were outside as much as possible. I don't remember sleet, freezing rain freeze/thaw cycles, stuff like that. Nowadays we have very strange winter weather. The storm that is being predicted for mid week this week is anywhere from a mixture of rain/sleet or a bunch of snow. Plus, they never divided the state up the way they do now - all snow in one spot, rain/sleet mixture in another spot. It was just cold and snowy, now, we get a bunch of crazy weather. I have driving in winter weather, I dislike it very much when the windshield wipers get all gunked up with snow and ice, and you have to stop and clean it off, etc, etc, etc. I'm just plain tired of it already. We're in for some whacko storm that is being predicted by all the meteorologists. Sounds like either a ton of snow coming in the next few days, or a mixture of rain, sleet and snow, which I prefer not to happen. (Yesterday | post #38)
