Guantanamo detainees not enemy combatants, says U.S. court
That's the American media for ya! They won't worry about the "correctness " until somebody calls them on it (Thursday Jun 26 | post #516)
Guantanamo detainees not enemy combatants, says U.S. court
No "SHIITE" !!! That sounds good. Or send them back to the current Afghani gov't so they can be tried for treason and have THEIR heads sliced off (ala al Quaida) with a dull knife (Tuesday Jun 24 | post #54)
CNN: Is Barack Obama black or biracial?
I heard Buh-Rock might even be a little "bi-curious " (as in Curious George). (Tuesday Jun 24 | post #2705)
Unless, of course, it's your kid getting the straight As. Wow, with all the mention of collective thought and uniforms, you had me recalling all the good ol' times back in the days of the Nazis and Soviets. NOT! School uniforms are one thing, but I'll think what I like, thank you very much!! This is America, after all (Monday Jun 16 | post #4)
Should NASA funding be cut to balance the budget?
Maybe you should do some research before spouting off your liberal lies. US defense spending as a percentage of GDP is under 4% numbnuts. More dollars are spent on Social security every year than on defense. Here's a 13 June 2008 excerpt from www.strategypage.c om: With the U.S. defense budget accounting for over half the military spending on the planet, you'd think that records were being broken. Well, they aren't. As a percentage of GNP, military spending continues a decline that has been going on since the 1960s (when, because of the Vietnam war, defense spending was 10.7 percent of GNP). That went down to 5.9 percent of GNP in the 1970s and, despite a much heralded "defense buildup" in the 1980s, still declined in the 1980s (to 5.8 percent.) With the end of the Cold War, spending dropped sharply again in the 1990s, to 4.1 percent. For the first decade of the 21st century, defense spending is expected to average 3.4 percent of GNP. Most of the current defense budget is being spent on personnel (payroll and benefits), and buying new equipment to replace the Cold War era stuff that is wearing out and to pay for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan (Sunday Jun 15 | post #10)
Should NASA funding be cut to balance the budget?
There USED to be a separate SS Trust Fund. Then Congress spent it all and left a pile of IOUs. (May 31, 2008 | post #8)
What type of woman is most hard to take home?

McClellan: Bush Admitted Authorizing Plame Leak
Sure...that's what the law says. But that's precisely why Scooter Libby WAS NOT prosecuted for revealing Plame's identity. She was no longer undercover. He was found guilty of lying about details of conversations he'd had. (May 31, 2008 | post #3)
Would you support a Gas protest
I don't understand your second sentence (missing a word or two). I believe one fact is that Congress hasn't allowed big oil to build any refineries on US soil in over 30 years. So...please acquaint all of us with your facts. (May 29, 2008 | post #50)
Obama explains comment about McCain
Yeah, the inspectors returned because Saddam could not and would not show them any factual evidence of destroying his weapons (video, inspector witnessing destruction)...oth er than a table full of binders showing "paper work" documenting it. Ever heard of pencil whipping??Saddam "threw" inspectors out of the country several times under Clinton after inviting them in to verify destruction. But that doesn't answer my question: What the hell were our troops doing over there for 8 years if Iraq was no threat??? Babysitting???? (May 29, 2008 | post #95)
Is Obama the Next Jimmy Carter?
This is what one online news service published: An oil company executive had just told her that in order to bring the price of gasoline down, oil companies needed to be able to drill on our own continent and off our own shores. In addition, we need to build more refineries. Then Maxine, one never wanting to actually hear the truth, responded that “This liberal, would socialize……….” then realizing that she was giving the game away, took a pregnant pause in an attempt to look for the best way out, finally responded “Nationalize your companies!”. Is Obama the Next Jimmy Carter?
ha ha ha No kidding! I'm sure her constituents are very proud of their representative. (May 25, 2008 | post #6)
Obama explains comment about McCain
Iraq was no threat...that's a good one!!! If Iraq was no threat, then why did Billy-Boy (and Big Al) keep Iraq surrounded by our troops positioned in Kuwait and Turkey for the ENTIRE 8 years of his administration??? He obviously thought they were a threat up until 19 Jan 2000. Then, of course, Bush takes office on 20 Jan and everything about Iraq changes. They're now innocent victims. Gimme a break!!!! Time to pull your head out. (May 25, 2008 | post #86)
