Excessive Celebration Rule is Racist
I believe the excessive celebration rule in college football is racist. Old fashioned white southerners (Vince Dooley) couldn't stand to see African-American athletes having a good time. This whole rule was Vince Dooley's idea, and it turned the Georgia Bulldogs victory over LSU yesterday into a defeat. 21 years after he retired, Vince Dooley is still losing games for Georgia. I remember the first year the rule was enforced--they only called it against Georgia. The rule should be completely elimated. It's entirely subjective. What constitutes excessive celebration is up to a referee's opinion. Check out my blog http://markgelbart .blogspot.com A critical review of the Augusta Chronicle editorial page.
