Igor, might the fact that you keep raising prices prices to the absurd while adding cheap attractions such as Idol be part of the cause?  (Feb 4, 2009 | post #19)

Universal Orlando cuts 70 jobs amid visitor slump

Another poor report from the Sentinel. Universal Studios has been suffering from poor attendance long before the economic downturn, and now the fewer people that go are spending less money at the park. The problems at Universal start well before you even hit the theme park themselves. From the higher than Disney ripoff parking rates to the unsmiling employees hawking credit card apps in your face at the main entrance, the sour first impression follows right through the day.  (Jan 23, 2009 | post #17)

Disney offers buyouts to 619 executives amid tourism slump

Memo to obscenely overpaid Igor. When you reduce hours and cut attractions at the theme parks, it needs to be accompanied by reduced prices or you'll be entering into a vicious cycle of even less customers necessitating more cuts in hours and attractions. On a side note, in addition to freezing government executive salaries, every CEO in this country who makes over 5M a year should be required to absorb an immediate 80% pay cut. It is government & corporate malfeasance that caused this economic catastrophe; drastic pay cuts are in order.  (Jan 22, 2009 | post #54)

Somali pirates drown with ransom after freeing Saudi supe...

These aren't clever rebels raising the Jolly Roger-flag in some kind of Disney theme park ride. Instead of pirates, let's just call them thugs on boats.  (Jan 10, 2009 | post #7)

Would-be victim shoots, kills robber at Orange County car...

Living near that area and having used that same car wash, a firearm and Florida CWP are on my person at nearly all times. Obviously I'm not the only one, and hats off to that citizen who saved himself, and saved the rest of us by putting that rabid animal down. Regardless of where you live, you need to take some responsibility for the safety of yourself and your family. The law can help you after the fact, but will you be alive?  (Jan 10, 2009 | post #63)

Pope Benedict XVI Wants to Save Humanity From Homosexuality

The Prince of Perverts Exalted (POPE) and his merry band of child molesters is going to lecture humanity on homosexuality or anything else for that matter? Religious leaders of any religion have no credentials other than a degree in historical myths and self-appointment as representatives of their imaginary god(s). To let people like Graham, Warren, and the Pope be the conscious of our society, or to give serious credence to their pronouncements regarding science, or social & political life is irrational at the least and dangerous at the worst.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #10665)

Powerball tickets debut in Orlando without fanfare

If only that were true. Unfortunately the first priority is beer, cigarettes, and weed. Next is lottery and perhaps junk food for themselves and the kids.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #4)

SWAT, tear gas fail to nab felon

The T in SWAT is for tactics and minus that, you have an expensive military grade weapon equipped team that's keystone cop ineffective. Let's hope that's not the case here, but there's no question that the justice system is broken down when habitual criminal offenders are on the streets.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #9)

Call it what it is: A massacre

If you took Israel out of the story, and it was simply country X that was being attacked by an adjacent country with missiles targeting civilians and children, there wouldn't be the obscene equivocation and condemnation of the country for defending itself and preventing the bombings from taking place in the future. As the country happens to be Israel, the far left, far right, Aryans Supremacists, anti-Semites, and those devoted to destroying Israel (the 2nd Holocaust) are foaming the mouth, and to use Hanson's convoluted logic, it appears that the Orlando Sentinel is giving it's tacit approval and backing to the loons making the obscene equivocations.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #1778)
