Jodi Arias: Does the state have the goods to convict?
Couple things keep percolating in my mind about Arias's speech. 'Killing Travis was the worst mistake of my life.' So butchering him was a mistake. A bad one, of course, but still just 'a mistake.' Who would rate murdering someone as a mistake?! The other thing is all her grandiose plans to teach her fellow prisoners Spanish & ASL & how to grow their hair, start a recycling program, book club, etc. The implication is that Arias is far superior to any of those women in prison. Why, they should be glad to have Jodi as their teacher. She can be the Mother Teresa of the penal system. And look how the prison would benefit under Jodi's direction! How could you sentence someone SO important to death? (3 hrs ago | post #21575)

I understand that, but the jail is not doing anything illegal. Some of these public pressure schemes I find a little scary. Especially the one post that someone copied yesterday about protesting for Casey Anthony to be sterilized. The state has no right to force anyone to be sterilized, not even severely mentally retarded people. You better hope they don't start now just b/c some people might want that. What is the point of that? The jail allows such things. Even in prison, interviews are often arranged. (7 hrs ago | post #21542)
Jodi Arias: Does the state have the goods to convict?
At risk of sounding Rambleresque, I'd like to add to my post. You can see the same lack of understanding in Casey Anthony. She never in a million years would have imagined that anyone would doubt her story. I truly believe Casey thought the police would let her go after an hour, clap her on the back, & say, 'We'll keep looking for your daughter. Let us know if you hear from her, okay? You be careful driving home now.' The very idea that someone would doubt ME?! It's just not done. (7 hrs ago | post #21541)

They should sleep on it. This is the gravest, most momentous decision these folks will ever make in their lives. They have proven to be dedicated to justice, & they take their oath very seriously. What a contrast with the 12 cretins. (7 hrs ago | post #21537)

I'll don the same, but I'll be in the wet baptismal gown contest. I may not even wear Spidey underoos. Yes, I'm so glad I listened to you -- those shirts are selling like hotcakes & going for a bloody fortune on eBay. (7 hrs ago | post #21535)
Jodi Arias: Does the state have the goods to convict?
I don't believe Arias was thumbing her nose at the jury. She just doesn't get it. Someone with BPD cannot understand that others would consider something she does to be distasteful and so hurtful. She does not feel emotions the way most people do, so she just doesn't understand how these things work. Same thing with her multiple interviews later. She wouldn't miss a moment to be on camera. This is all about JODI, this has ALWAYS been about Jodi. That is all that exists in Arias's world: Jodi. I got pretty riled when she said 'I concede that Travis's family is going through more than my family...' 'I CONCEDE'? How big of her. How utterly gracious of her. Meh. (7 hrs ago | post #21534)

That t-shirt was the biggest mistake she could have made. The gall of that woman. (7 hrs ago | post #21525)
