I haven't had liver about 20 plus years but I used to love it, I know no one in my family will eat it. I'll sure have to try the banana pudding with nutter butter cookies, I bet it tastes much better since the vanilla wafers are kinda plain, never thought of it so thx for sharing. Well u have a blessed night ...  (Feb 6, 2014 | post #7101)

Tony17, yes I use lard. I cook mostly all from scratch, I learned a lot from grandmother & dad. My dad he sure can make a delicious loaf of bread, my gma she cooked almost anything but mostly all southern comfort foods & there's always a pan of biscuits & cornbread on the table in which is what I try to carry on with my own family. I used other baking powder but I prefer Clabber Girl, just a preference. For dinner my hubby & I we're going out to a restaurant without the kids, so a small date night. I'm warming up leftover chicken casserole for boys. Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ...  (Dec 20, 2013 | post #7097)

The best ingredient in making biscuits is using Clabber Girl Baking Powdered 2 cps. all purpose flour 2 1/2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cp shortening or cold butter 3/4 cp buttermilk or regular milk (not skim) In large bowl add flour, baking powder & salt whisk well. Add butter, cut in butter in fork then add the buttermilk, stir/fold till dough pulls from the bowl. Add dough to a well flour spot, knead & roll out. In a large baking pan add biscuits, coating both sides lightly with oil. Bake 15 minutes @ 465* If you don't want to roll out just knead & pinch a small amount of dough & drop on a lightly coated pan, lightly pat the tops then put in oven.  (Dec 7, 2013 | post #7086)
