Ohio approves state smoking ban

Ohio approves state smoking ban

Since Linda came from a family of coal miners, some of whom died from black lung from that occupation, are you REALLY going to say she died from smoking? YOU ARE THE SICK ONE!  (Mar 29, 2012 | post #81711)

Zeno's bar will argue smoking-ban case before high court

Smoking has been known to make marginally rational people go bonkers over the sight of a smoker. The pleasure a smoker undertakes gets at the very craw of these marginally sane people in a way that defies explanation. The anti-smoker' s brain crawls with unexplainable firing of synapses in the regions of logical thought. The anti-smoker begins to sweat uncontrollably, eyeballs begin spinning, and their heart rates spin out of control. There is no treatment or cure, other than a padded room for a spell. And that's exactly where our lawmakers should be focusing, on locking these people up, they're dangerous!  (Oct 30, 2011 | post #3272)

US Politics

Pharmaceutical giant GROOMS Legislature

It's way past time to ban pharma from being a government entity, something they never should have been allowed to do in the first place! Since the Prescription Drug Marketing Act of 1987 touted as necessary to increase safeguards in the drug distribution system to prevent the introduction and retail sale of substandard, ineffective, or counterfeit drugs, was in reality to get big pharma's drugs out to the public faster, we have now become the guinea pigs, the testing is done on the public. The FDA allowed this at pharma's request. Then the gov't pours OUR money into banning things like smoking on private property when that money could be spent on roads, schools, the poor, and our elderly. Time to toss pharma OUT!  (Sep 10, 2011 | post #4)

Smoking ban to go before Ohio Supreme Court

Governments job is NOT to protect the people from themselves. You can get a copy of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights online. The surgeon general based it’s ideology of toxic smoke on an EPA report that was ruled on as fraudulent by a federal judge. The surgeon generals report is then also fraudulent. The surgeon general did not have to testify under oath to the validity of his claim. If you tell a lie enough, people will eventually fall for it. If you are so afraid of whiffs of cigarette smoke, you better start banning firefighters to protect them from their jobs! From the well respected Cato Institute: The Second-Hand Smoke Charade http://www.cato.or g/pub_display.php. .. Quote: It now turns out that the influential 1993 EPA report “Respiratory Health Effects of Passive Smoking: Lung Cancer and Other Disorders” was as phony as a three-dollar bill. State officials and private businesses that believed that ETS was a public health danger (and not just a nuisance) were completely misled by the EPA. And, of course, so was main street American public opinion. YOU'VE BEEN HAD!  (Jul 22, 2011 | post #7824)

Smoking ban to go before Ohio Supreme Court

Say a state has two million people with 20% smokers, that's around 400,000 and you demonize them with anti-smoker laws and get perhaps half of them to try and quit, that's 200,000 buying nicoderm or nicoret at about $200 a try, that's $40,000,000.00, for big pharma. Hospitals are complicit. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN A MARKETING SCAM! http://www.mskcc.o rg/mskcc/html/1246 3.cfm This prediction tool can assess a long-term smoker’s risk of developing lung cancer in the next 10 years based on the person’s age, sex, smoking history, and asbestos exposure. I used a 51 yr old female who smoked for 39 years at 15 cigarettes per day. Results: Over the next 10 years if she does not smoke the risk of developing lung cancer is 2%. If she continues to smoke her risk of developing lung cancer is 3%. For a smoker? A 3% chance after smoking for 39 years? These nuts would trample private property rights for that? If that smoker has only a 3% chance, and bans are to protect people who don’t even smoke, does banning even make ANY sense?  (Jul 22, 2011 | post #7823)

Smoking ban to go before Ohio Supreme Court

Isn't it funny? I've never heard of a smoker being asked anything like this! . If 51% of the people decided they wanted to kill the other 49%, would we allow this takeover government to make it law? Then why do we allow a poll to usurp the U.S. Constitution! The founding of this nation was funded by tobacco!  (Jul 22, 2011 | post #7822)

Actually, the revelation that tobacco IS good for you HAS been reported in non-mainstream media. HEADLINES: An Owensboro bioprocessing group is working on a vaccine for the human papillomavirus that’s made with tobacco protein. Smoking lowers Parkinson’s disease risk associated with non-smoking, protects against Alzheimer’s Disease and ulcerative Colitis. Children of mothers who smoke 15 cigarettes a day tend to have lower odds for suffering from allergic rhino-conjunctivitis, allergic asthma, atopic eczema, food allergy, compared to children of mothers who never smoked. Kids of smokers have LOWER asthma! ‘Villain’ nicotine slays TB. Carbon Monoxide May Alleviate Heart Attacks And Stroke, carbon monoxide's a by-product of tobacco smoke. Smoking Prevents Rare Skin Cancer, reduces The Risk Of Breast Cancer. Tourette’s Syndrome, schizophrenia and cocaine addiction are disorders that are alleviated by tobacco. Big pharma knows all of this, it’s all about wiping out the competition and money! And they depend on people like you to drink the Kool Aid.  (Jul 22, 2011 | post #7821)

Smoking Ban Fines Could Shut Down SW Ohio Pub | Ohio News...

Politicians are no longer leaders, they are followers, and this lands squarely on their heads. Much like the global warming scam, the second hand smoke scam has become like a religion for the extremists and beyond. It's blossomed so big it's now considered fact. Unless, of course, you do a little digging. You'll find out that it is exactly like global warming. All are financed by an entity that stands to gain huge profits. In the case of SHS, it's Pharma, makers of their own nicotine brands. I say it's time to take SHS to trial. Then lets see who wins, Pharma or our citizens and business owners who've been robbed of their right to run their business without a scam taking away their rights! Anyone bowing to this charade should be very ashamed of themselves!  (Jul 14, 2011 | post #8)

Cuts could revive smoking at workplace

Tobacco has been used throughout modern history as a tool for control, this time against U.S. citizens. Hitler began his reign of terror with tobacco control. After the Nazi collapse, many leaders of the Nazi anti-smoking campaign were executed. As part of the Marshall Plan, the United States sent free tobacco to Germany; the amount of tobacco shipped into Germany in 1948 was 24,000 tons and was as high as 69,000 tons in 1949. The Federal government of the United States spent $70 million on this scheme. It's always about profits, this time pharma’s, at the expense of smokers who just want to be left alone! Now the gov't wants to tax food, soda, and water. And the people will be screaming for their freedom to chose. Maybe they should have spoken up when the smokers were targeted! Our newly elected officials would do well to end these wars on their constituents and send the nannies to the unemployment lines!  (Jun 10, 2011 | post #62)

Ohio Supreme Court to review ruling in smoking-ban case |...

No one has the right to make health choices for others and no one has a right to demand rights to the detriment of others when they are based on the convenience of a lie, as we find in the “toxic effect of second hand smoke.” Chlorine is a carcinogen, but it is added to your drinking water! The owners, consumers and workers should decide concerning smoking bans, not the antis or non-smokers, and certainly not the "health" police!  (Apr 6, 2011 | post #54)

Other voices: Wisconsin breathes easy with smoking ban

Proper signage is all that’s needed. Smokers Welcome, Non-Smokers Welcome, Anti-Smokers Buy Your Own Business! Even the blind can then tell if there will be smoke inside if it’s written in braille. The seeing public can see smoke, they don’t need the health dept which protects against unseen dangers. Smoke free advocates try to sell the success of smoke free initiatives and laws but never tell of the amount of money the states lose, nor do they report truthfully of the damage it causes to business owners. There is NO business without an owner! Vicki McKenna of Milwaukee News/Talk 1130 took up the Kenosha WI smoking ban issue as well as Smoke Free WI’s underhanded tactics. She did an excellent job of putting the smoke-free movement in the crosshairs and telling it how it is. She addresses the absolute corruption of the smoking bans. http://a1135.g.aka 27/1h/cchannel.dow 8227/podcast/MILWA UKEE-WI/WISN-AM/vm %208-11%20hour%202 %20part%202.mp3?CP ROG=PCAST&MARK ET=MILWAUKEE-WI &NG_FORMAT=new stalk&SITE_ID= 1176&STATION_I D=WISN-AM&PCAS T_AUTHOR=WISN,_Mil waukee&PCAST_C AT=Talk&PCAST_ TITLE=  (Dec 27, 2010 | post #14)
