Need for Arrests

About 7 years ago I called 911 to report a drunk driver. The first call, I was hung up on-the second call, I was put on HOLD!!! I don't know what they are doing up there.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #47)

Prisons in America

Just heard this on the news this morning: 23 million people in the US are in prison. This is more than any other country in the world. They also stated these statistics: 1 in 99 caucasians are in prison 1 in 36 hispanics 1 in 15 african americans What does this say about our country? I'm curious to know the crimes committed in these instances.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #1)

I'm just stating what I found on the internet. I will look again and give you all the website. I wish I had found better numbers for TC myself, being that I graduated from there in 2001. Like I said, I will look again  (Feb 28, 2008 | post #51)

I found the 2007 SAT scores. They are as follows: Hayesville ranked 3rd in NC with an avg. score of 1587 Hiawassee's avg. score was 955. Not sure where they ranked statewide. Can't argue with those numbers I suppose. I was quite suprised by the difference  (Feb 27, 2008 | post #45)

Go to gov.georgia.gov and click on the upper right hand link; (contact us). I'm not sure where it goes after you submit your opinion, but it's worth a shot!  (Feb 27, 2008 | post #19)

Well, I'm happy for Hayesville, and I'm also happy that our town (Hiawassee) has such a wonderful school. In my experience, the SAT is only a test to help you get into college. What you do after that is your decision. I know many people who excelled in subjects I struggled in, and they scored lower than me on the SAT. It's just a test people! It's not life.  (Feb 27, 2008 | post #42)

I never took the ACT...but as far as the SAT, most of the people that I knew scored between 800 and 950 on their first try. They usually did better if they took it a second time. I scored 1000 my first try and never took it again because 1000 was what I needed to get into Young Harris College. My teachers at Towns County were very devoted to their jobs. I had many teachers who would stay after school and help students that needed a little extra help. If all these people think Hayesville is so great, then they need to send their kids there. I loved Towns County and don't really see a problem with the school. But that is just my humble, meaningless, little opinion..  (Feb 27, 2008 | post #39)

Need for Arrests

These arrests have been a long time coming. Just so happens that past sheriffs have overlooked a lot of the crime around the area. I have always loved this area and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon...I hope you (disappointed) will give this town and our sheriff a chance to show you how good this town can be!  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #17)

Eye sore anyone?

Jealous of what? I can serve my Lord just as well as they can. And no, I am not contributing to THAT ministry, but I contribute nevertheless. It is just my OPINION that the church is a little large for the town that it is in. If it were to be built in say, Atlanta, I'm sure it wouldn't stick out the way it does here.  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #17)
