Congrats Happy!! Yeah, the Camry is a pretty nice car. And even tho your new car gets better mileage, you are now strapped with a payment (bet the olds was paid for) and increased insurance payment. The benefit now is that you'll pay less at the pump, but more everywhere else... Good luck with that Happy...  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #10)

Legislators erred on arbitration law - Hawaii Editorials

To a point I agree with you... but how is voting going to fix this? Every time I vote, I see the same career politicians (read: legal crooks) on the ballot. The only way voting would resolve the problem is when there are REAL people, who really CARE about us and the future of Hawaii on the ballot... Which one of the next Governor candidates really cares about us or the future of Hawaii? Is it Mufi or Abercrombie? I'd vote for Mickey Mouse before I'd vote either of these crooks into the Governor's seat. Unfortunately, one of them will win cuz there isn't an alternative choice that isn't bought and paid for by the unions... so things will stay the same... so sad it is...  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #24)

Letters to the Editor - Hawaii Editorials

Oh Lord... why is it that there is always someone that wants to throw religion into the mix? BibleBoy said "Jesus would approve"... Does that mean that BibleBoy had an interview with Jesus? How does BB know that Jesus would approve? I wonder what Santa and the Easter Bunny think about health care... The Tooth Fairy would prolly approve of it tho...  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #22)

Brief asides - Hawaii Editorials

Am I the only one that wonders who is writing these "Asides" ??? I'm not complaining, nor am I agreeing with what is being written... I'm just curious as to whom is writing them... Anyone know???  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #1)

'Clunkers' program drove up car sales - Hawaii Business

With the current economic recession and credit crises occurring, it will interesting to see how many of these new cars wind up repoed cuz the buyers (Joe Public) can't really afford them. The CARS program is just as big a waste of taxpayer money as the TARP program. The stimulas plan is not working cuz the only ones who benefit are the financial institutions and Government Motors (GM). The Feds should have thrown that money to the taxpayers instead of the greedy morons!! Socialism... here we come!!  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #6)

The legislature doesn't care if they screwed up or not... they got their 36% raise... it ALWAYS boils down to money and greed...  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #23)

Hawaii remembers the past, looks to the future - Hawaii News

Hey Copius... How is being conned and conquered different than being illegally taken over? Care to enlighten me on that? Once again, I ask the simple question that no one seems able to answer: What is it that the Protestors really want?  (Aug 24, 2009 | post #85)

No offense Agame, but the Cherokee tribe is not in Wisconsin. And my ancestors were not "invaded ", they were conned and conquered... but that was a zillion years ago. And cuz I'm an American, I can put chicken feathers in my headband and dance around a fire all I want... well... that is as long as I have a permit to build the fire... then I might need a permit to perform a dance... and so forth...  (Aug 24, 2009 | post #79)

Yeah... I noticed that too... Tis a shame when a newspaper journalist doesn't know that wizzes is spelled "Whizzes "!!! You'd think their spell checker app would've caught that!!! Too funny!!  (Aug 24, 2009 | post #8)

So who exactly is telling you that you can't practice your beliefs?? My ancestors were herded onto reservations... bogus, non-farmable land. And far smaller than what they once commanded. Yet I don't whine... I make the best of it cuz I'm not full blooded Cherokee, nor am I full-blooded white... I am, however, a full-blooded AMERICAN. Hawaii has been a state for 50 years, deal with it and move on. No one is telling you that you can't own land, dance the hula, or any number of other things... you simply want it handed to you on a silver platter... get over yourselves and be somebody!! King Kamehameha is prolly rolling in his grave with embarrassment at the way you protestors are behaving.  (Aug 23, 2009 | post #76)

I gotta hand it to ya Enufalready... Nice way to handle "CreamInMyCof fee"... I too have read his/her um, passionate posts... and all I came away from with is that he/she is raving lunatic... as in rubber room material... and the funny part of it all is that before the white man came to Hawaii, the islands were always ruled by the top warrior (as in Kamehameha). Once the whites came and introduced the western culture, the Ali'i embraced it and began mimicing the British... as in building a Palace... giving themselves titles of royalty that were not known to previous Hawaiians. The "Queen" was overthrown cuz she was dumb... pure and simple... perhaps it was illegal, but that is kinda beside the point now... I'm 25% Cherokee Indian, and the "whites" did the same thing to my ancestors (only worse), but I have to admit this: No one is stopping me from practicing the ways and culture of my Indian background... The Cherokee Nation was conquered LONG before I was ever born, and I accept that fact... What I want to know is WHAT do these protestors want? Do they seriously think that all non Hawaiians should just leave Hawaii and give it back to the "Hawaiians "?? No one is stopping anyone from continuing their heritage, their culture, their past... By becoming a state of the union, the Hawaiians are guaranteed the protection to continue to practice their culture and beliefs... I mean seriously.. if the United States dumped Hawaii, who the hey would stop some other country from taking it??? What are these protestors thinking??? But ah... that's just it... they ain't thinking... they're whining...  (Aug 22, 2009 | post #63)
