Found a lost dog near at K-mart.

I'm reposting to bump this thread up. We have found a really nice, medium/large dog with long fur at the K-mart parking lot. This dog is really nice and has obviously been living in a good home. Somebody out there is heartbroken. If you know of anyone who has lost a dog near k-mart, please post a good description and your contact information. Thank you.  (Mar 24, 2012 | post #5)

Found a lost dog near at K-mart.

My son found a lost dog at K-mart, who had been hanging around the store for some time, even trying to go inside. It's a medium to large dog with long fur. If you have lost a dog or know someone livng near K-mart who has lost a dog, please reply with a full and complete description of the dog and your contact information. Thank you.  (Mar 17, 2012 | post #1)

Good Times Skate Center

I agree with everything you've written. I've had nothing but good interactions with the owners. Historically, skating rinks have been a place where questionable people hung out, doing some pretty questionable things like drinking and drugging. The owners are Christian people who wanted to create a fun, safe, family-oriented place where their kids could be safe with or without the parents being there. I have dropped mine off a couple of times, but I always spoke directly with the owner to let her know who I was and who my child was and to ensure she was not allowed to go in and out. I felt OK about leaving my child there and I always questioned her afterwards to ensure she had a good time and was safe. She never once indicated to me that anything was going on that shouldn't. Frankly, I think the original poster is just using topix to ruin somebody's business without having to show his/her face. If you have a valid complaint, then make the complaint publicly and identify yourself so the owners can defend themselves. Otherwise, this is nothing but a coward's libel and slander.  (Jan 8, 2011 | post #29)

My kids have been there several times and I like the people. They don't let the kids go in and out for safety reasons and the rule is posted for everyone to read before paying to go in. You should have let the owners know that your daughter was going outside so they would know it was OK with you.  (Jan 5, 2011 | post #22)

fox and dou -county

I just called Duo-County and they said the rumor is not true. They said that it does apply to certain dish providers not affiliated with Duo-County.  (Dec 21, 2010 | post #4)

Don't Ask Don't Tell - Russell Springs, KY

I served in the military a very long time and I never had a problem serving with gays. They tended to be outstanding soldiers and they never bothered me. The military has plenty of regulations governing sexual harassment and other inappropriate behaviors, all of which should be applied equally to both gay and straight soldiers. If so, there will be no problems.  (Dec 19, 2010 | post #2)

key cleaners

I knew something hadn't been right at the Key Cleaners for awhile. Too much clothing has been ruined or not cleaned at all and the owner, who is the only one who does the cleaning, is never there. When you think about it, the chemicals normally used for cleaning have a strong odor and would be a perfect coverup for the chemicals used for the meth production.  (Dec 19, 2010 | post #6)

Large Obese Children

Obesity is a very complex issue with no easy solutions. Consider the following causes: 1. Kids don't move anymore. They don't have recess at school and they don't play outside when at home. They spend their time watching TV or playing video games. We live in a world where parents fear for their children's safety if they are allowed to roam around the neighborhood without direct adult supervision. 2. Many parents don't cook from scratch anymore - they heat up frozen or canned foods, instead of fixing real food. 3. Too many meals are eaten out - the food is high in calories and fat. 4. A lot of parents don't have the money to buy a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. They buy and serve high carb/high fat foods because they are cheap to buy. It costs a lot of money to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Meat is outrageous in price.  (Dec 19, 2010 | post #15)

where to make a complaint???

Bingo! This a basic lesson in democracy. If people protest and make their wishes known and are willing to participate in the solution, then something will be done. However, the state of Kentucky is broke and I'm not sure there is any money to replace an otherwise functional school building. I'm sure it was much more important to build a natatorium/auditor ium that it was to replace a small school in the hinderlands of the county (tongue in cheek). Seriously, it would be a lot more effective for people to start attending various governmental meetings to voice their opinions than it is to gripe on topix. The people we vote to represent us need some feedback from their constituents if they are to make decisions that we like. You can blow steam on topix, but what else are you accomplishing?  (Nov 10, 2010 | post #11)

Looking for Rosellen Lynette Brimhall.

I am trying to locate and contact a woman named Rosellen Lynette Brimhall, formerly married to an Army sergeant named Robert Brimhall. I am in great need of some information and need to talk to her. If anyone knows where she is, please contact me. Thanks.  (Nov 9, 2010 | post #1)

where to make a complaint???

Jamestown School is the only elementary school located within walking distance of a town with stores. Are you suggesting that the other three schools should pay a bus driver and buy the gas to bus kids to either Russell Springs or Jamestown to collect candy? The school system is broke, as it is. What program or class should be cut out so that kids can be bussed somewhere to get candy? Sorry, but not living near a town with stores is the price a person pays for living in the country. It is what it is. Plus, there really aren't very many stores in Jamestown to hand out candy. Have you been to the square lately? There isn't much open these days. Instead of having the kids bussed to collect candy, why can't the parents/grandparen ts get together and put on some sort of Halloween party for the kids at the school?  (Nov 2, 2010 | post #3)

Tech student involved in fatal accident out of jail...again

Thank you, Lovely. The drunk driver takes no responsibility at all for her actions. To her it's just an "oops!". I hope she spends some time in prison so she can do some serious thinking about what she's done. There is no way she can ever make restitution - you can't replace a life and fill the void that my cousin has left.  (Nov 2, 2010 | post #5)

Tech student involved in fatal accident out of jail...again

The victim was my cousin and I'm outraged that this young woman, who has a history of alcohol problems, is out of jail and back in school. Linda Smaltz was a mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister and her entire family is absolutely devastated and heartbroken. The drunk driver deliberately drank the alcohol knowing that she would be driving afterwards. As far as I'm concerned, this was deliberate act of murder.  (Oct 31, 2010 | post #1)

Failure to arrest

If someone doesn't want to work, you can't force him to get or keep a job. He'll just make the employer miserable and the employer will have to fire him. These people who refuse to pay child support rationalize all sorts of reasons why they shouldn't have to pay and they're more than happy to simply not work at a legitimate job to avoid paying. They move out of state to avoid it too. Of course, even if you let the local authorities know where the deadbeats are at, they don't arrest them. There isn't enough room in jail for all of them and then the taxpayers would just have to feed them.  (Jul 21, 2010 | post #11)
