Should the US have universal healthcare?

The best option would be to have some form of basic health care service available to all citizens, with the availablity of premium services that people can elect to pay for if they do not want to wait an hour to see a physician or two months for an MRI. This is something that should have been done decades ago, at the first realization that personal health care decisions might someday be made for you by large corporate entities that have no concern for anything but shareholder value. As it stands, with the system as far gone as it is, many people are willing to pay $1000's out of their own pockets, above and beyond their basic insurance, for concierge medicine and a little more personal attention. Doctors benefit and can then operate their practices with fewer patients. The problem is, the patient loses with this option as well, because they pay the doctor on top of the insurance company. Universal health care with the option to upgrade is really the only way to solve this complex problem long term.  (Jan 30, 2010 | post #73930)

What Is The Ideal Magnesium Supplement?

So, what is the ideal magnesium supplement? There are many forms available in your local retailers. Does one rank highest in terms of benefits offered? The answer is debatable, of course, however, when you begin to research magnesium citrate and magnesium taurate, you begin to see how they pull away from the pack. If you really want to begin taking the ideal magnesium supplement, you should start with either of these two. They are relatively inexpensive and they offer very high rates of absorption from oral dosing.  (Jan 30, 2010 | post #1)

The Correlation Between Magnesium Deficiency And High Tri...

Magnesium taurate is a highly beneficial supplement that has been shown to exert multiple benefits on the cardiovascular system. In fact, one could confidently state that this particular form of magnesium is almost like a magic bullet to help steer the ship in the right direction with problems like hypertension, PAD, heart disease, and nervous system disorders. But, what about high triglycerides. Well studies have shown a very direct and plausible link between magnesium deficiency and higher levels of triglycerides and free cholesterol in blood plasma. Anyone can google triglycerides and magnesium to find more information on this important missing link.  (Jan 28, 2010 | post #1)

Heartburn

Coral Calcium

Consider trying coral calcium to help with heartburn. Coral calcium is an effective way to raise your body's overall pH. In addition, coral calcium contains a variety of friendly, naturally occurring marine microbes that have a beneficial effect on your intestines. One of the measures of quality of coral calcium is its magnesium content. The higher, the better. The best coral calcium has a calcium to magnesium ratio of about 2:1 and this potent duo of nutrients can really help with heartburn, as well as many other conditions. If you are shopping for coral calcium in your local health food store you need to analyze the calcium to magnesium ratio to ensure that you have a high quality product in your hands. Price isn't always a good gauge of quality when you are searching for coral calcium.  (Jan 25, 2010 | post #1)

Pycnogenol Benefits Osteoarthritis

If you suffer from osteoarthritis and you are desperately searching for the type of supplement that may provide additional relief without the side effects of additional medications, you might want to try Pycnogenol. A 2008 study done using a dosage of 100mg per day for 3 months showed a decrease in the treated individuals WOMAC scores of 56%, vs. just 9% for placebo treated individuals. As this score goes down, so does the pain and inflammation associated with the condition. To what do the results speak? The answer is most likely that Pycnogenol is one of the more potent natural anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories on the planet. Look into Pycnogenol for yourself. You just may be amazed at some of the potential benefits you uncover.  (Jan 20, 2010 | post #1)

Magnesium Gluconate

Most people are beginning to become more familiar with the mineral magnesium. Most people are not likely to have first-hand knowledge of the many forms of this supplement that are available in health food and nutrition stores across America. Magnesium Gluconate is one form of this mineral that offers a pair of unique benefits or advantages over other forms of this great mineral. Milligram per milligram, Magnesium Gluconate is less likely to cause loose stools and diahrea than other forms. Also, Magnesium Gluconate is better absorbed than many other forms, essentially meaning that less can become more. Generally speaking, Magnesium Oxide is the least expensive, but least absorbable form of this mineral. Magnesium Gluconate may be gentler on the digestive tract than that inexpensive bottle you see lining the shelves in your local pharmacy. Consider giving Magnesium Gluconate a try and harness the proven benefits of supplementation.  (Jan 20, 2010 | post #1)

Hypertension

Help Tame Your High Blood Pressure With Magnesium

Magnesium is the 11th most abundant natural mineral found within the human body. This is deceptive, though, as it certainly ranks higher than that in terms of biological importance. The consequences of our low magnesium intake, as a population, are as far ranging as the many benefits of proper supplementation of this nature's miracle. Many people may not realize the far-reaching consequences of magnesium deficiency. About half of the magnesium currently in your body is found in your bones. Magnesium plays a vital, yet virtually unknown role in helping maintain good bone density. The remaining magnesium in your body is found in the cells that compose your internal tissues and organs. There, this critical element plays a huge role as a catalyst in over 300 bodily functions. These functions are as diverse as the human body itself and include vital roles in your immune system and in proper cardiovascular function. Hypertensives are very commonly found to be deficient in this incredible mineral and good supplement dosages and absorption rates will increase vasodilation and help reduce both systolic and diastolic readings.  (Jan 6, 2010 | post #1)
