Experts weigh in on GM bankruptcy talk

More Doom and Gloom tactics trying to scare people. Over 70% of the American people do not want anymore taxpayers money wasted on these companies no matter what the cost ! Wake up and smell the roses! Get this Bankruptcy over with so we can MOVE ON !  (Apr 14, 2009 | post #8)

Batteries could jolt Michigan awake

WOOD TV is a Joke. They grab onto evey little bit of job news and try to blow it up to be something spectacular. This battery news is pathetic. China is so far ahead of us in that technology it's amazing. (bdy.com) And will soon be marketing their electric technology here in the US. They are producing their batteries much cheaper than they ever could over here. These tax breaks are just ANOTHER waste of money that could otherwise be going into the States budget. WOOD TV needs to do a little research before making such ridiculous reports ! Again trying to make news out of NOTHING !  (Apr 14, 2009 | post #4)

Report: GM told to prep for bankruptcy

Good article in the New York Times (nyt.com) today, " Glamor Dims As Hecklers Hit Auto Show." Anger is starting to surface in the American Public because of the Taxpayers money the Auto Companies took. Only in Michigan do they have any support. Bankruptcy is he only option left for them.Detroit Free Press today, Business Auto Section, "Bankruptcy More Likely For GM Now." The handwriting is on the Wall.  (Apr 14, 2009 | post #10)

Report: GM told to prep for bankruptcy

Obama knows that Bankruptcy is the only option for GM. With over 70% of the people against anymore aid for the Auto industry what other choice does he have ? The UAW tries to take credit for getting Obama elected but it was the thousands of volunteers that went from state to state, door to door that did it. The part the UAW played was miniscule in comparison. Obama knows this and will go with the people on this one. It is long OVER DUE !  (Apr 13, 2009 | post #7)

Auto dealers fight for survival

byd.com is looking for dealerships. They're vehicles will be coming to the us (Electric and Hybrid) and they are way ahead of the American auto makers in hybrid technology. Their cars are alot cheaper than the American vehicles and will be the cars of the future. Something to think about.  (Apr 8, 2009 | post #51)

GM CEO softens opposition to bankruptcy

Fritz is the man for the job. He is taking a real approach to this problem. In order to get the money GM needs to survive he must dump the blood sucking union. Better days ahead for us all once this saga is OVER !!!  (Apr 5, 2009 | post #21)

Auto dealers fight for survival

They will have to give the GM cars away. No one is going to buy their vehicles until this is settled. Just wait I think their will be many going out of business sales. GM is done as we knew it ! Obama finally came out and took a Leadership position on this issue. His refusal to throw good money after bad was the best one he has made so far.  (Mar 30, 2009 | post #5)

Obama withholds bailout for autos

In ploitico.com this morning you can read the offer the Government is giving GM. It will involve Cuts to both wages and benefits to bring them inline with the prevailing wages in America. About 1/2 to 1/3rd cuts to both wages and benefits should do it. Also plants must be shut down immeadiately instead of the dragged out plan the UAW wanted. At last Obama is showing some leadership and is taking the power away from the UAW and giving them an ultimatuim. The Government will guarantee warantees on all GM vehicles should they chose not to accept the offer and go into Bankruptcy. YOU GO OBAMA !!!  (Mar 30, 2009 | post #12)
