Well every time I go down there I see one waitress busting her hump, and the cook busy in the back while the rest stand around and talk. Also the problems are not with the pay it’s with the fact that the owner has now decided that the cook needs to make more and the waitress have to pay for it. Also concerned it's my understanding that he hilltop does not serve food they just sell Doughnuts. Kind of hard to compare to different style businesses. I am sure that the waitress's don’t make that much in tips so go ahead and cut their pay down you will have to make up the difference every day. If you can’t people what they deserve maybe you should not have so many people. After all you stated it’s a small restaurant.  (Jan 30, 2013 | post #23)

Aww sucks Tom youre making me blush! lol And it maybe what several restaurnts are doing, however I still dont feel it's right or that it should be the waitress to have to pay for the cooks wage increase.  (Jan 22, 2013 | post #7)

As explained to me by an employee that works there, waitress’s now have to split their tips amongst themselves, and with the counter clerk, and the cook. This is mainly because the owner doesn’t feel it’s fair that the waitress’s (sometimes) makes more money than the cook. Now her idea is split the tips to raise the cooks pay, how is that fair? What incentive does that give to the employees to provide good service because no matter what they will get tip money even if they do next to nothing! Now I have heard several patrons comment along the lines of “we are not going to tip anymore” I say that does nothing to change this policy after all the owner is still getting paid. I say until this owner stops these unethical policies we boycott this restaurant. My sympathies go out to some of the staff that works down there and it’s a shame that there are several great employees that are catching the brunt of this injustice!  (Jan 22, 2013 | post #1)
