Qtown HS Threat Made

Upper Bucks Free Press Facebook post: Because of a threat written on bathroom walls at the high school and Freshman Center implying that today (Tuesday, October 18) there would be some sort of undefined violence at the schools, the Quakertown Community School District allowed students from those schools to stay home at ┬ôparental preference┬ö. An administration spokesperson says that they have a good idea of who is behind the threats and are working with local police on the case.  (Oct 18, 2011 | post #29)

A lesson to people who hire illegals...

So many people on their pedestals! Have you ever worked with any of the people you have deemed criminals? I have. At my last job they used to bring illegal workers in. Let me tell you what I learned about illegal workers: -Most work their ass off, especially the older ones, because all they want is to support their families. -Most would become U.S. citizens if they weren't afraid that coming forward and trying to do so would get them sent back to somewhere they were willing to travel across a country, and sometimes halfway around the world to escape for a chance at a better life. -Just like everyone else, there are good eggs and bad eggs. It has nothing to do with them being illegal or not. Whether 50 years or 300 years ago, our ancestors sought the same thing - a better life for their families. Politics aside, these are people just like you and me. It's easier to simply judge than to think about the people involved.  (Mar 29, 2011 | post #31)

Giant Foodstore

I've never seen any rabble among the staff at the Giant by Lowes and they have the best pharmacy department I've ever been too. Highly recommend. Oh you were looking for drama? Sorry, can't help there.  (Mar 19, 2011 | post #5)

electricians

When we first moved in we used Lowry and had an absurdly high bill ( >$500) for an inspection that took less than an hour. Since then we've used Doug Hrycko Electric - He's extremely reasonable and honest.  (Jan 4, 2011 | post #4)

Review: Milford Veterinary Clinic - Kathy L Jamison DVM

I take my cats to the Allentown Clinic for Cats. We went there for a second opinion after being told our cat would die in months and should be euthanized; she lived for 5 more years, dying of old age. I've had nothing but good experiences there.  (Dec 31, 2010 | post #87)

Local adoption organizations have many cats looking for a...

I used to volunteer for a no kill shelter in the area; I was one of the people that screened applicants and completed adoptions. The only cats they insisted must go in a pair were 1) if two particular cats were bonded and could not be separated or 2) if the kitten was under 12 weeks old. The tiny little ones need a lot of socialization. Cats are still kittens through a year old, consider adopting a kitten that isn't so fresh from the womb if you want one!  (Dec 15, 2010 | post #3)
