if being gay is so right, why do gay people feel the nee...

Wow! You are the biggest cry-baby I've encounted on Topix in a while. But I will respond to your childish whinings point by point. 1. The parade is once a year. If it bothers you that much, avoid the streets where the parade takes place. Other than that, you can go cry in your room. And "straight pride" is 364 days a year. The gays just have one day. 2. Gay-themed posters at work? Don't know what you're talking about. 3. Gay chat forums? Don't like'em, do go there. You see, we have something in our country called "Freedom of Speech," even speech that YOU may not like. Don't like it? Get over it or go cry. 4. Activism? If gays weren't so disciminated against, there would be no activism. 5. You're fucking kidding me! If anyone is advocating for pedophilia or lowering the age of consent in the U.S., it's definitely not the majority of gays. And you ARE aware that there are more "straight " child molesters than gay ones, right? 6. ALL blood should be tested for any disease before being transfused. 7. Okay, you must be one of those dumb-dumbs who think gays are out to "convert the children." Grow up already, or do some reading! The "propaganda " of which you speak is simply "talking about" the fact that gay relationships exist. Are you not aware that many children are raised by same-sex parents and fare as well or better than children raised by straight parents? In Tennessee, they're so afraid of the "gay Bogeyman" that they've passed as law that says anything to do with homosexuality cannot be mentioned in schools. Pretty un-progressive. Now, maybe you should spend more time reading about "the other side" of these issues that apparently bother you so much. Stop watching Faux News so much. Jeez!  (May 30, 2011 | post #19365)

Since when does talking/teaching about marriage (opposite- or same-sex) equate to discussing S-E-X? Are you not aware that many children in our country are being raised by same-sex couples and that those children turn out just fine? Oh yeah, these children are adopted by heterosexuals who made them and discarded them.  (May 28, 2011 | post #178)

The Bible ..... yawn! Yes, a 2000-year-old book written for desert nomads. So valid for our times. Get real! The US Constitution and our laws trump your silly Bible, so get over it. Same-sex marriage is coming to a state near you and will be here to stay. Here's a Kleenex. Go cry about it in a corner.  (May 28, 2011 | post #177)

Learning about same-sex couples is no more about SEX than learning about opposite-sex marriage is. When children grow up in homes like yours, taught to look at gay people with disdain, they grow up just like you. Thinking it's okay to discriminate and dislike gay people. Knowledge and education about any topic is good. Silence is bad.  (May 28, 2011 | post #176)

Most of the idiots commenting here are not understanding that gay people do not have sex 24/7. Sometimes, they can be just as BORING as heteros. They are not different than heteros, except for the fact that they have same-sex partners. Learning about marriage equality is not about reading The Joy of Gay Sex to 6-year-olds. Get an education! Jeeza!  (May 28, 2011 | post #175)

Ordained by God?" LOL .. you'd first have to prove he exists to claim such. Secondly, come on now, you know (don't you?) that marriage existed long before the Buy-bull was written, so Krisschinnz don't have a monopoly on The Institution of Marriage Ordained by God. Furthermore, if you're not married legally by the state and you don't get that marriage license issued by the government, you're NOT married. This makes marriage a secular institution. Atheists can get married, too. And that don't believe it's "ordained by Gawd."  (May 27, 2011 | post #38468)

Hahaha ... well, had interracial marriage put up to a vote in say, 1967 Alabama, how do you think that would have turned up? That's why courts are here, to right wrongs no matter how many people says it's wrong. You're on the wrong side of history on this one. Same-sex marriage is inevitable and will happen in every state, whether you like it not.  (May 26, 2011 | post #38391)

Is homosexuality a sin?

Telling me I'm sinning is proselytizing, not reasoning or having an intelligent conversation or debate. The word "sin" is a religious construct and has no validity in my life or anyone else's who uses common sense and reasoning instead of a 2000-year-book of fairy tales written for desert nomads. To tell a non-religious person like myself, "What you're doing is wrong because I have a book that says so" is just plain dumb. I have a book, too, and it says you're a wacko.  (May 26, 2011 | post #38373)

And all of Martin Luther King Jr.'s children and late wife think that gay rights IS the next civil rights movement. Yolanda King spoke at the Human Rights Campaign dinner in New Orleans in 2002 or so. Google any of the children and Coretta to see what they say about gay rights.  (May 26, 2011 | post #192)

Sodomy .. ROFL. You mean anal sex? Why are you concerned if people have anal sex or not? And, were you aware that straight people do it also? The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled in 2003 that having anal sex is legal and no one's business but the consenting adults involved. Sweetheart, this IS a civil rights issue. When the government wants to come into my bedroom and tell me what kinds of consensual sex acts I can engage in with other adults, they're invading my privacy. I don't give a damn about your religion. Stop trying to legislate your religion on everyone in this country. If you think buttsex is a sin, then don't do it and leave the rest of us alone.  (May 26, 2011 | post #191)

The US Constitution trumps your Bible. Touche! And moreoever, you'd have to prove that your Imaginary Friend really exists. But that's another topic.  (May 25, 2011 | post #163)

Silly, straight people have been redefining marriage for centuries. Why, in the Middle Ages, women were chattel, sold by their fathers as teen-age brides to their husbands. Until 1967, inter-racial marriage was illegal. Now it's legal. The Institution of Marriage is always changing and being "redefined ". You'd better get on the Progress Wagon, because it's leaving you behind!  (May 25, 2011 | post #38348)

ROFL! Walking in the streets with diapers. I have never seen that. I'm not saying it's never happened. But I would think that's rare. Buttless chaps. Have you ever seen Bourbon Street in New Orleans on any given night? Straight people showing body parts! And Mardi Gras! Oh my! You see all sorts of things going on ... by straights and gays alike! Gays disrupting church services? Oh dear, I've never heard of this. Again, not doubting it happens, but I think crazy people busting into churches with guns is more common than what you mention. Sucking face just to be seen? You mean kissing? Don't straight people kiss in public? Again, kissing in public, whether it be a same-sex couple or opposite-sex couple, is legal, Buddy. If you don't like it, turn the other way or go cry in a corner. You are one big cry-baby, aren't you? Pray tell, don't you have more important things to worry about?  (May 25, 2011 | post #38347)
