2012 Politics Thread

I really do hope someone in her family tries to get her some help. If you go to any mental hospital and read the charts of the paranoid schizophrenics, they sound just like her rants. especially the ones with the religious undertones. Now mental health issues do not excuse the racist and antisemetic remarks.  (Feb 5, 2012 | post #122)

If this and the above post does not get you thrown off this board for good there is no justice. This is some of the mosh hateful writings that I have seen.  (Jan 22, 2012 | post #227)

I apologize. I thought I read that you were a moderator. I have no idea who the clowns are but I have never seen you post under anything other than your own name or ruttro either. I don' t know why certain ones insist that you guys are the clowns.  (Dec 17, 2011 | post #99)

Since you are a moderator, I would like to ask a question. Why are those that have been banned allowed to continue to post? There are a couple on here that continue to post under many different names and continue to be nasty with anyone who has a differing opinion than them. I myself have only posted a couple of times in months simply because I have gotten tired of arguing with them. I would also like to say that contrary to what some believe, I don't believe for one minute that Maro is posting on here. If she were she would have no problem giving her opinion or telling someone off under her own name.  (Dec 16, 2011 | post #92)

Kurt Busch Fired from Penske?

Good post. I put some statistics above and Tony hasn't averaged top ten finishes since the first year. I also seem to remember in one interview near the beginning of the chase where it was mentioned that they had turned to the 39 team's notes for set ups.  (Dec 7, 2011 | post #63)

Just some statistics: Tony's average finish at SHR. 2009- 10 2010-14 2011- before the chase 14 after the chase with 5 wins still only 12  (Dec 7, 2011 | post #58)

It's official Grubb is out Addington is in

Thank you for being so nice. The point I was trying to make about the crew chiefs is this; Tony may well be part owner of the company but on the track the crew chief should be boss. Whoever is Tony's crew chief should have enough gumption to tell him just that or tell him to find someone else to do the job. I was just using Zippy as an example. Someone else like Chad Knauss for instance I wouldn't see letting Tony get by with that stuff. Darien just seems too soft spoken to handle a personality like Tony has. Have a good day.  (Dec 2, 2011 | post #48)

I haven't posted for quite some time but have continued to read and I have to say that I am kind of shocked at some of the comments about the decision to let Darien go. I used to be an office manager and one of the hardest things I had to do was to fire someone that I considered a friend. This person came to work everyday (early) was always willing to lend a hand when needed and was a loyal company employee for several years. However at the end of the day, when I would have to have my butt handed to me by my boss because this employee was always behind on their work I had no choice. The decision was definitely not mine but it was my job. Some of you seem to have forgotten that the last 3 years Darien has made some very questionable calls that cost the team some good finishes. Tony winning that race on Sunday was due to his driving and pure luck after he was told to stay out longer than anyone else for fuel mileage. The rain saved them and that created the luck to give them the chance for the win. He also doesn't seem to have a strong enough personality to reign Tony in when he tries to start playing crew chief himself. Zippy never minded telling Tony to shut up and drive. This year was terrible ( I know Debi you will say woulda shoulda coulda the first 6 races) but really nothing after that. None of you know what kind of meetings Tony may have been in with sponsors over the last few months about lack of good finishes and wins. Sponsors want wins. I don't know enough about Steve Addington to have an opinion about how good he is but I just don't think that has a driver and crew chief that Tony and Darien ever really clicked. I guess what I am trying to say is that some of you are condemning him when no one on here really knows the whole story. No one knows if this decision was made Tony or by Haas or by their sponsors. So much of what goes on now in Nascar seems to be sponsor driven due to the fact that it is so hard to come by. I think Darien will be just fine. I think the 14 team will be just fine. All of this of course is JMO.  (Nov 30, 2011 | post #34)

Hutchens out at Stewart-Haas

I did notice at both the All Star and the 600, and a couple of races before that listening from home that Tony was not questioning Darien about the calls he was making. Maybe its sinking in.  (Jun 9, 2011 | post #22)

Richard Childress vs. Kyle Bush

Andy is actually pretty harmless. Just laugh and go on. A delete button would be good but what would be even better is a descent moderator and a requirement by Topix for all posters to have to register so that the ones that have been banned would not be able to continue to post under their many different aliases.  (Jun 7, 2011 | post #118)

Richard Childress vs. Kyle Bush

The reason I started watching racing was because so many that I worked with watched and they would talk and ask me questions and I was lost. I knew enough to know who the big drivers where for years but that's it. The very first race I watched was Daytona where Dale Sr. was killed. I didn't watch the whole race so I didn't see the accident, heard about it at the store.  (Jun 7, 2011 | post #113)

Richard Childress vs. Kyle Bush

I didn't say for sure that he did anything wrong I just said that I thought there was more to the story than was being told. I don't care how old he was, I wouldn't stand there and get my a-- beat and not defend myself unless I thought I had done something to deserve it. For the record, I never said I was a Kyle hater. No wonder no one on here can stand you. All you ever want to do is argue with anyone who has a differing opinion than you.  (Jun 6, 2011 | post #104)

Richard Childress vs. Kyle Bush

I have only been watching racing since 2001 but since that time I have never seen or heard of Richard losing it like that. Matter of fact I have heard him on the radio cool Harvick down. I personally believe there is more to this story than is being told. I don't buy Richard attacking Kyle for a simple bump on the track. What I don't understand is why if Kyle is as innocent as is being reported, why he didn't defend himself. I don't know about you but Nationwide probation or not if I haven't done anything and someone comes up and hits me unless I am knocked out I am going to come up swinging. Sarah Palin is an IMBECILE

Normally I wouldn't post on this but I started looking for information after watching Sarah's goof and reading the arguments on here. This is a link that I came across that seems very good. Its in pdf form. http://teacherweb. com/VA/HolySpiritA nnandale/MrsAshby/ paulreverestory.pd f In my opinion, this is not about republicans, tea partyists, liberals, or democrats. This is about a woman who is continually an embarrassment to the U.S. (and women) every time she is asked about American history. Peace Out  (Jun 4, 2011 | post #26)

The Coca Cola 600 is on TV

Oh I agree, no way Tony had a chance to win but it was just a shame that he seemed to have set himself up to have a descent finish there at the end and then have the cars piling up in front on the restart. I was pulling for Kasey to pull it off but Ragan or even JR would have been good to. Harvick had to be surprised that he pulled the win out, he had pretty much sucked all night hanging in the back with Tony. Loved the prerace activities again this year. We had great seats on the frontstretch under the shelter which was great since the sun was so hot but made us miss out on seeing the stealth fly over. Had to watch it on the big screen. Glad you enjoyed it as well.  (May 30, 2011 | post #36)
