Taxation without a say, how very democratic of you. Please also consider that given the population density of these areas you speak of annexing, the cost of services per house for things such as sewer skyrockets. This makes it a net negative tax return. You go backwards. As to your other point, I personally believe that everyone should continue to have a vote towards their tax structure.  (Sep 4, 2012 | post #28)

If you increase these citizen's taxes by annexing them into the city limits, do you plan on providing services for these additional taxes, such as city water and sewer?  (Sep 4, 2012 | post #24)

For you "Left Wing Nuts"

So you compare a terrorist attack with poor fiscal policy? I'm clearly not an Obama supporter, and I think that the president should be held accountable for how our gov't is running. Call me crazy.  (Sep 1, 2012 | post #53)

Only option to take. Hopefully they will figure out a way to avoid it, but our debt is a problem, and will be for generations.  (Sep 1, 2012 | post #52)

striper

I'm an expert striper, really straight and multiple colors available. I can even do designs, but I charge extra for that.  (Feb 27, 2012 | post #3)

I'm running for President!

I do believe you missed my points about: 1. Everyone must sacrifice, at least some. Those in the lower tax brackets less than those in the higher. 2. Welfare is an entitlement program. If you need it, file for it. I wasn't messing with welfare, I simply said that entitlements should not be part of the tax code.  (Feb 23, 2012 | post #16)

I'm running for President!

Here's what I would do: I would create 3 additional tax brackets at the $1M, $5M, and $10M levels at 37%, 39%, and 41% rates respectively. I would also raise taxes on dividends to 25%, or to your current tax bracket, whichever is less. I would also eliminate tax refunds (unless of course you erroneously paid in too much) by eliminating marriage and child deductions. Everyone should pay taxes, and currently many people receive tax refunds that are more than the taxes they paid. I am not against assistance programs, if you need assistance, file for it. Entitlements should not be built into the tax code. We have got to address this $15T debt, and this way everybody plays ball. Everyone makes some sacrifice; next we hold the gov't accountable for spending. What say ye?  (Feb 22, 2012 | post #1)

Obama budget

So who's your boogeyman, Bembh? The evil rich people, or the gov't that created the tax code?  (Feb 16, 2012 | post #88)

Obama budget

Why did he pay a lower rate? It's because his income was mostly from investments. The theory here is that you have to first earn money by buying and selling stuff or getting paid to do something, and that money is taxed at the regular ordinry income tax rate. If you then take what you have left and invest that money, the investment income will be taxed at a lower rate. My point is that somebody already paid the taxes at a higher rate on that money before the investment income you may earn is taxed, just at a lower rate.  (Feb 16, 2012 | post #81)

want a good laugh?

So you are saying the ethical thing to do would be to make sure he paid taxes to the US on money not earned in the US? And no, he is not my choice for our next POTUS  (Jan 25, 2012 | post #8)
